If ever there was a quintessential Stones track, lyrics, feel, etc... Tumbling Dice must be up there, at the top of so many of their songs. That whole album, Exile.., got under my skin when it came out and I got it.. 72, 73...and never let me go...my overall favourite album of all rock ..and it's not because other albums are of less quality.. but because Exile never got boring (but for 2 tracks), has more staying fresh power, than anything else I ever listened to for 50 years.

'Exile On Main Street' is the greatest rock album of all time. Nothing can touch it. I love all the Stones records, but Exile is the most raw, twisted, and gritty Stones album.

@@MH-yr4zl The entire album shines. I put it on and listen to the whole thing start to finish. I love those songs that you mentioned as well. 'Shine A Light', to me, is like classical music or something.

Women think I'm tasty, but they're always tryin' to waste me
Make me burn the candle right down
But, baby, baby, don't need no jewels in my crown
'Cause all you women is low down gamblers
Cheatin' like I don't know how
Baby, got no flavor, fever in the funk house now
This low down bitchin' got my poor feet a itchin'
Don't you know you know the duece is still wild
Baby, I can't stay, you got to roll me
And call me the tumblin' dice
Always in a hurry, I never stop to worry
Don't you see the time flashin' by
    Honey, got no money
I'm all sixes and sevens and nines
Say now baby, I'm the rank outsider
You can be my partner in crime
    Baby, I can't stay
You got to roll me and call me the tumblin'
Roll me and call me the tumblin' dice
    Now baby
Oh my, my, my, I'm the lone crap shooter
    Playin' the field ev'ry night
    Baby, I can't stay
You got to roll me and call me the tumblin' dice (Call me the tumblin')
Got to roll me (ya yes), got to roll me, got to roll me (Oh yeah)
    Got to roll me
    Got to roll me (yeah)
Got to roll me (Keep on rolling)
Got to roll me (Keep on rolling)
Got to roll me (Keep on rolling)
    Got to roll me
Call me the tumblin' dice, yeah
    Got to roll me
    Got to roll me
Baby sweet as sugar (Got to roll me)
Yeah, my, my, my yeah (Got to roll me)
Now now now now (Got to roll me)

OH come on guys. The Beatles wrote POP music. They were the masters at what they did. Even the Prince of Darkness (Ozzy Osborn) acknowledges the Lennon-McCartney writing team as the best pop writing team in the business. The Stones write RnB, Blues n RnR. Trying to compare the two, and say which is better is like comparing apples and black-board dusters. The boys never had a problem with each other, but thier fans had/have plenty. Apparently this hasn't changed much. Just enjoy the music.

i am not saying the Beatles didnt deserve it. They started it. Yes, they had more influence than the Stones, but Mick Jagger or Keith Richards within the 100's would be fair, because The Stones & The Beatles were both part of what happened. I am also saying that it's always subjective so u can't make an 100 % accurate top 100.
