I am a Coconut addict and this is a simple recipe for me and my kids to make. My wife loves chocolate, so I rolled the coconut balls in Nestle Semi-sweet mini chips instead. It really is a sweet treat to have. My problem now is that I may eat too many of these. Thank you.
Thank you, Alia! I will try to cook them for Christmas. My husband loves coconut. I like the music you chose, your presentation and it is nice to look at you and listen to your voice...
........made this and they are addictive! Thank you, Thalia! I only changed a little by blanching the almonds and peeling them .........they are more delicate this way.
Hi,I'm from Malta and my mum used to make me these when i was a child she used to add food colouring as well, now i do them for my kids .... keep it up :)
Hello! Your video is well done, very demonstrative and easy to follow. I have a question on the coconut. If I use fresh grated/shredded coconut (which is moist), do I need to dry it first (over a pan) or just use it right away?
Hello! Merhabba! Bonjour! I am so glad that I found this video! I got back from a short trip in Morocco but was disappointed not to eat any sweet dish so this was GREAT! I really wanted to impress my family members who go to Morocco often and they were impressed indeed! Especially how we all love coconut. I am making these again for the second time tonight for a Moroccan Tea Party tomorrow. Thank you so much! You're a great host and really pretty :) much love from London xx
I am a coconut lover but stopped eating dairy a few months ago. I have replaced condensed milk successfully in the past with coconut milk and honey slowly cooked together in low heat then letting it cool. I will give these truffles a try mmmm!
Wow! It is absolutely easy to prepare and I would love to try doing this moroccan sweets recipe. Is the coconut flakes that you use is fresh or dried? Thanks and waiting for your response.
i watched this video around 2:00am and had them made by 2:35am...and they are very tasty..i will make them again..this recipe is simple and very good!!!!
omg!!! i made them for my babyshower!!! and they adored them!! omg!! thanks thanks!!! they're realllyy goood!!! thanks!!! =D easy to make easy ingredients sooo delicious!!!
je m inspire souvent de tes recettes Alia. i really like your attitude and how you love cooking, your recipes are most of the time very easy and quick to do. bonne continuation.
oh my goodness! i love coconut, almonds, and condense milk. i'm totally going to make these. i'm going to subscribe to your videos too. they all look so authentic and delicious! thank you alia!
@livestellar if the mixture is too sticky you may have to add a little more coconut. other than that, you will have to wash your hands from time to time with water so that you can roll the balls easily. so dont worry, you will have stuff on your hands, it's just that I wash mine after rolling 3-4 balls.
Looks healthy for a 'sweet' snack, I make coconut macaroons quite alot and I try to keep the sugar and fat down. Good video and recipe and I like the music, thanks.
Wonderful!!! Hopefully, I will be able to locate unsweetened med grated coconut flake :) Q for you, would you recommend freezing? :) Appreciate the subtitles too! TY!
Great Looking desert. Please Alia tell me what a perfect traditional Moroccan dinner would consist of? I would love to surprise my husband for Ramadan. Thank You xo
Hello Missy Asche,i thank you loads for the measurement...its just like a precious gold in the kitchen that give me right now..thanks again Happy new year 2014...
Hi Alia i luv all of ur recipes whatever u make reminds me of saudi arabia for some reason cos i spent my childhood there and i m familiar with all the arabic food ,i have a request Alia can u show us how to make Kunafa i ll really appreciate that and also can u tell me if i can dip these truffles in melted chocolate? thanks
Hi Alia, your recipes are great and I adore your channel. I'm going to prepare an impressive Moroccan dinner for my Moroccan friends here in Italy and I need to learn he original name of this delicious dessert. Could you please tell me? :) Lots of greetings and compliments!
@usa2008egypt I dont think there is a direct translation to it. I dont know! maybe you can google "condensed milk" and send her a picture instead. also tell her that it is used to make "Umm Ali Recipe" which is an egyptian bread pudding made with condensed milk. Try to say "Halib Hilw" (sweet milk). hope this helps!
these look amazing, and the recipe sounds quite simple! i'm going to try making these as gifts. how long do you roast the almonds, and at what temperature?
What I also do is cruse the almond to little peaces and then mix it with the mixture. Or replace the almond with walnuts and the milk with honey. Or use some crushed cookies you like and mixed it with the mixture. Use your imagination the varieties are endless. Its so easy. Like she said you can use hazelnut. why not chocolate etc
I don't even like coconut, but these look delicious :D Not to mention they have a really awesome name... "Moroccan Coconut truffles", has a great ring to it!
What would you suggest I add to ''spice up'' the recipe a little bit more and make it really special?

I'm trying to tell my husband's aunt how to make these, but she doesn't know what I mean by 'sweetened condensed milk'. How do you say 'sweetened condensed milk' in Arabic--Egyptian dialect? Can you respond by typing it using the phonetic English way of how to say the Arabic word for it? thanks. Love your recipes.
Also, there is a simple recipe for sweetened condensed milk, with powdered milk, powdered sugar, a bit of vanilla and water! :-) (I had to make my own before I found a shop in my country that sold it!)
I remember watching This with my mum when i Was 9 ( we are Both coconut Lovers!) i am now 15 and remember when we made it tastes sooooo good i recommend it to everyone by the way do you have instagram? It would be awsome if you make an account :)

Is it a "bad" thing to use "toasted coconut" on the outside? Or, I should not change the way it is made? Thanks:)
