Get out of this relationship. It will only get worse, and your boyfriend and his mom will become even more codependent. I get that he's an only child, but there's a limit here.

story 2: OP you need to run away from that family like you're on fire. That level of codependency is NOT normal and you will always play 3rd wheel in your own relationship. And the bf needs to be told that he will never find a wife if he doesn't learn some boundaries. I love my parents to death, I'm very close to them, but if either of them ever creepily snuggled up to me and went on about how "big and muscular and good looking" I am, I would scream "bad touch!" Story 1: Why would even remotely think you're a jerk here? That Karen 100% was the jerk here. Her actions were terrible and im surprised things didnt escalate here. The Karen and her kid were going out of their way just to harass and assault the OP here, and im pretty sure the Karen told her kid to do what he did too. She is a terrible mother and im surprised security wasn't called on the plane here. I hate people like that Karen... and you have to wonder why they are allowed to have kids.
Story 2: This bf could be considered a momma's boy, but holy crap, the mother here is overbearing in the most extreme of ways. Ive heard of helicopter parents and ones that just can't let go or accept that their kids are grown up, but this mom just takes all that to the highest levels. She sounds nuts and is super intrusive in her sons and the OPs lives. I totally get being close with your parents, especially as an only child, but this is really unhealthy and toxic. Honestly, with everything being said here, if i were the OP i would leave this relatioship if the bf is too reliant on the mom here before things get too serious. I know i wouldn't want to marry him and have her as a MIL and would only get worse if they had kids together. Story 1 - NTA. That Karen pulled Op's hair and was about to hit her pregnant stomach and when Op called her out of being a Bad Parent, she acted all Pissy and wanted to move. Not to mention the kid tried to rub his nose goo on Op who took his hand and rubbed it on his shirt. To think all this happened because Op said no to letting the Son use her phone. That kid and Karen needs a good belting cause apparently it has NEVER happened to them.

The mother in story 2 will never accept a boundary and the only way for OP to get her bf without mummy is if he realises and goes no contact which won't happen. My concern with the first story is that maybe the child was like, 4, which would make it very mean to rub snot on them, and I suspect that the Original poster may have left out details.
Story 1: Depending on how long the flight in the story is many airlines have in flight entertainment so the kid could’ve watched something on the flight instead harassing the Original Poster.
For the second story, the boyfriend is a total mama’s boy and Mom is it enabling it HARD. The relationship is codependent and unhealthy. If he’s unwilling to put stop to the weird stuff then leave his ass because it won’t change from there.
Story 2: The OP should've broken up with their boyfriend right after the cruise, I mean come on, NUMEROUS red flags were there right from the get-go, it really seems obvious that the mother is controlling and not willing to let go of her son.
