I love the fact that the daughter in the first story didn’t get all entitled when the op said she couldn’t pet the guide dog, and how happy she was that the dog had a job, unlike her mother

To be honest, if I was blind and a child came up to me and kindly asked to pet my guide dog, I would let them but really carefully, and then tell them that most other people wouldn’t let them pet their service dogs.

For the 2nd story, I think it's important to realize that having a positive relationship with an ex is an ok and honesty a good sign of maturity on both ends. Positive doesn't mean potentially romantic, but if your partner is capable of being friends with an ex it shows that they were willing to take a step back and look at the relationship and see that it wasn't working out the way it was. It's ok to like someone but realize you might not be the best romantic partners for each other
@teddybeppu5722 yeah although what both you and they seemed to have overlooked in this one is the boyfriend is being secretive about anything that he deams would just cause her to 'overreact' and thus suggesting he's hiding something and he even lied to her about who called him the one night thus suggesting the ex is more then just friends And he accuses her of gaslighting him when she asks him to be honest which is a sign of a toxic relationship.
@@ChanceSimpson-vc8jt I'm glad I'm not the only one who caught that. When he said he's not going to tell her things if he thinks it will upset her or if he thinks she'll overreact, that right there is a red flag. If you're in a healthy relationship, you should be able to have mature conversations about things that are difficult for each other to hear.
To just withhold that information because you might not like my reaction is a justifiable reason for me to seek companionship with someone who I can trust to tell me the truth, even if it's hard to hear.
I completely agree, but I think a relationship with an ex needs to be completely open and COMPLETELY platonic when there’s a new person in your life. I mean, I’ve been friends with my bfs exes, but it was because he was completely open about it. They never hung out without me and he never lied about whether she’d call, text, or wanna hang out and she always invited me and never made me feel left out. I think it’s possible, but there has to be a lot of open communication and boundaries. In this case, he was point blank lying to her about his ex’s contact. That’s sus to me.
Getting called at 11 pm by them seems like a pretty big red flag. And getting told I won't tell you stuff that I know will get you anxious after having a problem like that doesn't sound good either

Bro, the child in the 1st story was being more mature than her mom. She just left after she was told a calm “no”, while her mom called security, refuses to believe that OP is blind and even tries to take away OP’s guide dog.
Story 1: Lets say that OP was lying, THAT DOES STILL NOT GIVE THE KAREN THE RIGHT TO PET SOPMEONE ELSES DOG WITHOUT THEIR CONSENT. Why are people so idiotic?
thank you - the whole situation should have been handled differently regardless if the OP was blind or not. The dog was not the Karen's property and she was harassing another customer. Also, it is actually illegal for an establishment to ask you to prove your disability the way the security did. The only thing the OP would need to do is show the documentation of the dog being a seeing eye dog - otherwise the customer could sue for discrimination.
I have told several people who ask to pet my dog flat out no. I don’t have a disability just a regular dog owner who knows my dog is not some play thing.

So sorry you had to go through that. People can be horrible to others and that shouldn't be a thing. I have autism and a mental disability where I learn a bit slower than others and I had my fair share of horrible people like that giving me a hard time but I keep my head high and so should you. Stay strong and know that you are beautiful and an amazing person.
I wish you pressed charges on that woman for assault!
I think you handled the situation very well, I would have lost patience long before that. There needs to be more awareness of disabilities and parents should teach children appropriate behaviour towards a person with a disability and people generally. My harassers were adults, or late teens, not children.

I am not blind but I am a disabled veteran. If someone did even half of the disrespect this poor blind person had to endure all bets are off. They would be lucky to leave in handcuffs.
The first story: the child was most likely curious and the fact that OP said "the dog is doing a job to help me" and the daughter being fansinated and understanding just makes me smile everytime! I feel bad for the daughter AND OP. The duaghter didnt give a damn since SHE was the one thats understanding, not the mother.
Story 1: she wasn’t mad bc op told her daughter she couldn’t pet the dog. She was mad bc op telling her daughter no was as if op was telling HER no. I don’t doubt she sees her daughter as an object that belongs to her. I feel sorry for the girl.

@@primeyoriichiids bullying kids is nothing to adults bullying kids. Think teachers that just oscillate between "apple doesn't fall far" and "her mother said, therefore it's true". The damage bad parents cause their kids is so all pervasive and irreversible... Being laughed at "your mom's a Karen" by a peer is the last and least what awaits that poor girl.
First story: I know someone personally who is legally blind, her eyes aren’t cloudy or fogged over as some folks think, she’s really nice and when I lived in South Dakota, the last day of me being in Special Olympics, my Mom and I were trying to explain to a kid in a polite way that he couldn’t pet her service dog, he didn’t think of it as polite and started crying

@@mickk8519 exactly, as a child, I always had and loved dogs, I saw a service dog once with a little vest, and asked why the dog had clothes and if I could pet it, and the person explained that no, I couldn’t pet it, it was a service dog, and they were also blind, so they needed the dog to help them see, and that animals with vests were most likely service animals, to help people, I didn’t throw a fit, or go snitch to my mom that someone didn’t let me touch their dog, I was just happy to see a dog with a job like a police dog, so I connected the dots to my german shepherd and followed the person around talking about my german shepherd until my mom came and told me to stop bothering the poor person. I was a smart kid, but not the most socially aware, specially about disabled people, like the time I first saw a little person and asked “why that little girl had an old lady face” and where her parents were. My mom was embarrassed, told me off, and told me that she was an adult. The lady explained what midgets were (I don’t know if that’s an offensive term, sorry if it is) I’ve had ridiculous experiences with random disabled people as a child because I didn’t see many of them

yes...kid can be cruel to eachoter without knowing or understanding thay are from the sandbox and upp...takings another kids toy and banging it on the head or something...
(it takes a a few years until a kid fully understand its hurts for another person if u do)... being rhought right from wrong early is a very very good start in life....
for example teaching kids thay cant go around taking other kids toys without asking... if u do early the future will be alot brighter for that child... there are parents especially in US thats think its okay to kids to take other kids toys and use them... it teaches its okay to take and use other ppls stuff and should never be used as any method...

Depends on the place. The first guard should've called backup to keep the situation clear and local police if their contract doesn't allow contact. He also cannot ask some of those questions or ask for proof. I work as mall security atm. We can only ask someone if their dog is a service animal and what job they provide. We cannot ask anything else and have to go with what we're told even if we have doubts. We cannot intervene and touch someone without risking our jobs, even if it's the right thing to do. They consider us as human scarecrows and any physical contact is a possible liability. Hell, I saw a coworker get chewed out for following shoplifters to the parking lot to try and catch their car once.
Story 1: How the effing hell do you prove you being blind? It’s literally impossible to prove that your blind unless you have a permit or smt but with a quick situation like this, u cant

As she stated she feels she's gaslighting her by accusing her of gaslighting him whenever she mentions anything to do with being honest and thus suggesting he's not being truthful.
I can't believe the people in the first story. It doesn't matter whether she's blind or not, you're not supposed to pet a service dog. And even if the dog wasn't a service dog, since when do dog owners have to let other people pet their dogs just because you say so? If the owner said no, then it's no. I really hope the OP files a complaint and gets the first security guard fired. Karen will be a Karen, but that guy messed up big time. Who cares if she's blind or not? You're helping a Karen harass a customer!
Yeah and its not like that there are reasons for that, the Dog don't know peting or the kid and can bite. But then its the owners fault
You shouldn't pet a stranger's dog, service or not. Dogs have rights too. Being touched by strangers violates their personal space.

I'm a bit more sympathetic to the Security Guard as it sounds like he was just really confused and you could tell from what they said clearly realized the stupidity of what they was asking and tried to establish why the Karen was accusing them of faking it, hell they might be new to the job they still human they can get confused and having to make a decision on the spot not be sure how to react
I teach my kids this! It's common sense. You always ask before petting any animal! Also, walk slowly up to the dog with your hand out. You go like 95% and then let the dog come up to you the rest of the way.
I would press charges against the 1st security guard and Karen for assault on a blind person and they should be in prison for 20 years!
The thing is, pressing charges require a lot of time and money, two things disabled persons usually can't spare ^^'
@@krankarvolund7771 Yeah and most attorneys won't take many cases that don't involve money. As a person with disability, I had encountered an issue with a business that was discriminating against me and wasn't wheelchair accessible but could have been. Because I wasn't asking for money but to have the business be accessible according to the laws and other things, I couldn't find an attorney who was willing to help me.
Also, in order to make business to comply, the complaint has to come from a person with disabilities. Even if someone without disabilities knows the business isn't in compliant, they can't force the issue or take legal actions as it doesn't involve them directly. Most of the time people just give up because they don't have the money and there's not a lot of help for this.
I think 20 years is a bit much for something this minor, I think community service would've been better

I grew up in a town where they train the dogs for Leader Dogs for the blind. Everyone in town knows when the dogs are in harness you don’t mess with them at all. It’s very interesting watching them get trained and then watching again when they get paired up with their blind person. A learning experience for everyone.
No one should be in a relationship with someone that says "i dont care if it damages our relationship", and anyone that says that isnt worth the time of day.
He could say to her ok you don’t care if damage the relationship let’s end it break up don’t call text ignore her that will have her know she’s not the only one in the relationship & her behavior will not be accepted talk it like adult or break up that’s my opinion & been in that situation myself
To the one with the neighbor: I'm autistic and I often do not get subtle hints. I also might act weird sometimes and violate boundaries without even realizing it. I don't do this out of a lack of respect for other people but because social norms and subtle cues are basically rocket science to me. If people give me subtle signs I'm mostly just confused by that.
What I like is when people just directly tell me when they don't like something I do. Or if they directly tell me things they would appreciate. You can be direct AND friendly at the same time. It's not a big deal. Of course it's not mentioned that the neighbor is autistic, but he might have similar issues due to his disability caused by the accident.
I feel if you go from being subtle and nice straight to being direct and mean you skip a possible step in the middle: Being direct while still being nice.
This is a important topic to me, because it would have helped me avoid so many misunderstandings and conflicts in the past. If people just directly tell me what's going on I can work with that. Instead they're being subtle, waiting for me to get it, bottling up their anger when I don't get and then they explode on me. And often this is the moment when I first realize that there was a problem at all. That's just frustrating for both sides.

Sometimes I do not autistic but I amstraight forward and most of the time don't understand subtle things like they ask me to do something but will not specifically tell me what to do which is like just be direct and I will be fine

I feel your pain. It's even worse when people don't know that they themselves are autistic and have this stuff happen.
One day while driving Uber, I had a call for a blind passenger. She was pleasantly surprised when I approached her, introduced myself, and asked if she wanted to take my arm to guide her to the vehicle. She told me that many people usually grab her to take her to the vehicle. That's the wrong approach.
As a blind person myself, I can fully relate to the first poster. I don’t have a guide dog, I instead use a smart cane, but I have still dealt with people in public who don’t understand blindness. The problem with my situation is people trying to tell me what my limits and capabilities are. I used to volunteer at a place that I will not mention, but some new people took over, and they wouldn’t let me help anymore, because they believed I couldn’t lift heavy boxes, despite the fact that I had repeatedly shown I could. I had memorized the layout of the place and could easily move the boxes, and since I was the youngest, it made it easier on everyone else. I’ve also had people tell me that I’ll never be able to live on my own, and that my family will take care of me for the rest of my life. This is despite the fact that I cook and clean for myself all the time. It bothers me that people don’t educate themselves about blindness. I’ve had people accuse me of not really being blind, even though I use a cane and Braille notetaker, basically a Braille laptop. I had incidents in school where other students would state that the only reason I got good grades is because the teachers felt sorry for me. Other students would try to trip me or steal and/or break my cane. The worst was when they would tap me on the shoulder and run away cackling like hyenas. This started in elementary school and went all the way through high school. I finally made it stop by reverse kicking one of the worst ones in the shin when he did that to me on a rainy day. I had just walked into the greenhouse, making sure my boots were covered in mud. After I kicked him, he started whining that I covered his good expensive jeans with mud. I told him that he had done it to himself. The other teens started to leave me alone when I made it clear that I perceived touching me as a threat, and that I would respond in kind. My dad and uncles taught me how to fight, and my Marine cousin gave me a few tips. Sorry, had not planned on telling that story. Parents, please teach your kids respect. I say all that to say this, please educate yourself about blindness, and don’t treat us like trash because you think you know something. You don’t understand the struggles that we can, and will deal with every day of our lives. While there is a lot of accessibility and accommodations, not every place is willing to meet those. we still have a lot we need to fight for in order to have the same treatment as everybody else. Many of the blind people I know desperately want jobs of their own, but employers will not give them a chance. A rental manager turned me away from an apartment because they didn’t think I could walk 100 yards from the curb and climb some stairs. Please don’t assume you know us, because you do not. Also, if you have a question about blindness, please just ask us. I remember several cases where curious children have been told to be quiet, and other times when adults would ask a friend or relative questions about me while I was standing right there. For the most part, most of the blind people I know are happy to answer questions about their condition. We all have different stories, and different reasons why we are blind. For instance, I am blind because of a genetic condition, while my girlfriend is blind because she was born early and there were some complications. Please take the time to get to know us, and please treat us like people.
My mom went blind when I was 8. The situations we got into got pretty scary. Some people really suck.

As far as the second story goes, I think it's less about the fact she's worried something is going on, and more about the fact that he's deliberately hiding it from her and not discussing things with her when she set that boundary.
If you're asked to tell someone about every time someone calls you or sometimes the phone number they know it's female popping up on your phone then yes I can understand where the guys come from so there's privacy. There are other boundaries there's personal boundaries at the same time if there's a call it's saying that they want to come want you to come over to drink then yes tell your significant other. But other than that he does have right to say do you say it just say it yes I'm gonna tell you about this and yes I'm not gonna tell you about that about that now if hes going out Behind your back that's different yes you have it it's chance to talk to him about that but they're telling you everything else that's going on UN that involves them and wait in full view or involve the X that's more than just a casual meeting than yes that is concerned cheating.. I think I'm not really I've got friends that have access that call them up but weird things but they don't really respond or they just cancel it out Now if it's they wanna hook backup and you won't tell you a snap of Canada then you sniff the conductor then yeah I can't understand that but if it's a thing that you can serve a Spam cone just don't talk to we'll talk too then know they don't need to know about that period
I mean, i get where your coming from, but honestly, he's not trying to hide anything. She reacted when she saw him text his ex. Now, they could just be friends. I get the suspicion, and the request for honesty, but she also reacted in a way that would put any man on their heels. So when their drinking together, he receives a call and doesn't want her to worry about it. Now, if he say "no one" like she suggested, his girlfriend would have been instantly suspicious and would probably ply him with questions. The fact that he came out and told her what happened the next day, shows that he means to be honest, but he doesnt want to cause more stress for his girlfriend. Honestly, she just needs to back off and stop being so controlling

@@OKAYOKAY420 We dont know. There could be any number of reasons. But again, the girlfriend in question is trying to control too much and complains when her man decides enough is enough. AND THEN, blames him for gaslighting
A relationship is supposed to be built on trust and respect. It's a fine line either way because A. He should be honest instead of lying about what's going on (lying is not trustworthy and causes doubt), but B. He has a right to privacy a well. The problem with privacy though is that people use that a an excuse to get by with everything. If you don't trust the person you're with, then maybe that relationship isn't for you. The guy in the story is giving his gf every reason to not trust him.
I can’t believe that the Karen in the first story actually took away that person’s guide dog! I can imagine that for a bling person that’s like someone suddenly turning off the lights in a room, leaving it pitch black

The poor kid was probably embarrassed about her mom. I feel bad for her because she probably knew that she couldn't do anything to stop her mother.
I really enjoy the subtitles, as I'm deaf. Now lemme be clear, Deaf means I cannot hear right? Well some Karen was shouting at me to move my car, (which was parked correctly), so she literally yanked my arm so hard she dislocated it, so I snap my head back to see who had caused the pain, and lo behold a karen. So she is yelling and (thank the ones above I knew how to read lips) replied in the best sign language (at least the best I could with a dislocated arm.) That my car is in the right spot and these no need to move it for her to park next to her friend. All the while her child was crying at her mother shouting. So security walks in and traps my shoulder gently to alert me they are there. Now I'm at my friends coffee shop, so these people know me and that I'm deaf. I see them all yelling at each other but they were talking a bit to fast to read. The Karen left and hit into my car, but almost not damage but a scratch. Ended up having my arm popped back by security and I was given one free coffee for a family member. Like I was chilling before this happened-
Karens can really ruin your day, when you have done nothing wrong at all.

I am deaf too and thankfully so far haven't run into any super Karens. I did have a minor Karen slam her shopping cart into mine because "I was ignoring her and being rude and disrespectful". Apparently she was asking me to move over so she could get through. I was already parked on the side of the aisle out of people's way and she had plenty of room to get through. But she wanted me to somehow move over even farther. With her behind me and I'm busy looking at something, of course I had no clue she was there or even talking to me. I had my hand on my cart when I felt the bang and it made me jump. She slammed her cart into mine, rudely went on about how she asked me to move and something else, then left.
I usually deal with people yelling/screaming at me, pushing/pulling/yanking me, grabbing me, throwing small stuff at me, etc. The time I truly felt scared was working at one job where the security guards knew I was deaf, but would chase me down screaming at me. I am minding my own business going to work and suddenly someone is running after me screaming. They would be mad about something, but none would write/type down what they were saying so I would have no clue what I did wrong. Caused me too much anxiety.
I wish there was a way to permanently cure deafness, people like you deserve not to be deaf

Story 1: So sorry this happened to OP, I could feel her fear when that Karen tried to yank her dog away from her.
Story 2: OP seems to be having a lot of anxiety with her relationship and the boyfriend is not helping matters by not communicating and how he is wording things.
I agree on the second one, communication is important and it’s neither side that’s toxic it’s just miscommunication, anxiety, and poor wording

As a person who is going blind and gone through blind training (traveling with a cane, using a cell phone and laptop, grocery shopping, etc) THIS is why I'm dreading going completely blind.
I saw this one video explaining how blind people text using phones, and it looks really, really painful. So I feel very sorry for your vision loss

@@user-jv5pl1zc3m If somebody is going blind, that means that they are not fully blind yet and may be able to see well enough to type.
Also, you can get a device to type out what you say for you. Text-To-Speech and Speech-To-Text have been around for a while now. I’m very surprised that you somehow haven’t learnt about them yet.
And you can also use braille to type or just memorize the keys when using a keyboard. A lot of people can type without being able to properly see the keys, and with autocorrect even if you screw up your mistakes may be automatically fixed.
Darren. I know what you mean. But it’s not that bad. You definitely need to grow balls but I honestly don’t have many problems with people being asses like this
@@purplepigfarms5888 Yes, many assisted technologies have been around for decades. I also type without seeing keys, but I'm a touch typist and not blind. I've worked for a blind person who also touch typed.
Story 3: Stop giving him clues. Just tell him outright. "Dude, I'd like some privacy. And you're invading it."

To be honest the brain damaged neighbour seems to think he's made a friend, so best thing to do would be to either set times and dates with him and the wife for meet ups or tell them both directly that you don't have time for that kind of friendship

Story 1, make sure you always have a friend with you to help make sure that you have your blind identification card on you. Story 3, I would have a conversation with him and his wife to help resolve the issue. Story 4 op needs to go to couples counseling because she's showing that she doesn't really care when it comes from your lips that you can't handle this behavior and having something held over you, if she doesn't come to the counseling, breaks up at the mention of it or tries to guilt trip or gaslight op they need to just break up with the girlfriend because she would show she obviously doesn't give two shits about having a healthy relationship and that there might be a decent probability that she was even cheating on them while holding a mistake over op's head. Side note for story 4, it sounds like she already is cheating, or actually doesn't want to be in that relationship.
In story one I feel so bad for the kid she was just so happy and understood that even that if someone says no it means no she deserves a better mom

@@TopGFadee There are multiple youtubers on here who are blind and are always hearting/responding to comments. There's even a lady who eyes are so crossed that even if she wasn't blacked out blind she would still have bad eye sight and is always hearting comments
I think the first guard in the first story just wasn't trained in how to deal with this situation. He realizes almost immediately that asking for proof of her being blind was a bad idea. It seemed more like he was trying to settle things peacefully, but didn't know how to handle the situation.

I used to have a ptsd dog. Because of other people I don't go out into public with him anymore rather I go with other people as I've had way to many encounters or staff members asking to see registered paperwork. Then get asked to leave when I said there isn't any by law you can't ask.
Story 1: even if OP wasn't blind and had snuck the dog into the store, they still had the right to say who can and can't pet their dog. Fine she got caught with the dog and you called security (not ok but whatever) then up to security to decide what the next course of action would be (either escorting OP out or not) but you should never put your hands on someone else be it them or their property. Smh
Guide dogs are legally allowed to go anywhere, restaurants, subways, trains, buses, taxis, stores etc.
I hope they fire the first security guard, she gives multiple reasoning and has a guide dog and they’re just like “prove ur blind” he’s just rude and clueless, fire him and give the 2nd guard a raise
my grandpa is half blind. He doesn’t even have cloudy eyes, he has normal looking eyes.
If I ever see someone harassing or assaulting a blind person they are going down very very hard.
The fact that the daughter wasn't entitled in this story reminds me about another story I heard about a Karen at a restaurant during a party where all the kids got Mac and cheese but the Karen said "oh no no no no my kids will have steak with brussel sprouts" and when she (the waiter) brought the food the kids where sad and she mouthed "I'm sorry" and then the kids said "it's okay you did your best"

Story 2: I think he shouldn't have worded it like "I don't want to tell you something you're going to have a bad reaction to." instead he should have just said "I just don't want to upset you when I open up. So how can I come forward and be more open without setting your anxiety up." She just wanted a boundary set up. Him then saying sure, and then lying about who is calling, is what's going to set her up for anxiety about it. But if he said "it's just my ex" didn't pick up still, to her that's seen as he's open and he cherishes there time more then the call from his ex.

1st story: OP has obviously dealt with explaining her condition to other people a lot. I know blind people that don't know anything about how to describe it to others and they don't bother to. It is not their responsibility to explain their disability to others unless they put themselves in others care. The fact that she even tried to explain her situation instead of just saying "I have the permit and there is nothing illegal about faking being blind anyway" is a testament to her patience.

The ADA clearly states that the 1st security guard asking for proof that this person is blind or to provide any evidence of their disability at all is illegal, all he is allowed to ask is "What type of service does this dog provide?" Meaning is this a medical alert dog, handicap assistance, emotional support animal, disability assistance, etc. They cannot legally ask what a person's handicap or disability is and they absolutely cannot legally ask for proof of a person's need for the dog nor proof that the dog is in fact a service animal. Doing so is discrimination under the law against persons with disabilities. However, a trained service dog is not hard to spot because anything that happens around the dog or even directly to the dog the dog will ALWAYS look to the handler first before having any reaction. Even if the dog hears or sees or smells something, before it will direct its attention to it to find out what it is, it will first look to its handler. ALWAYS

@@aubarlowe Yep, everything is much simpler in hindsight, however in the moment, there's no telling what may happen and you have to make decisions on the spot most of the time, and you can't make perfect decisions every time, and not many people really consider that, saying the "if I were you" phrase without considering exactly how it would be to be that person, is ironically an example of that.
As a security guard myself, I can assure you that even if you someone is 'faking' something like blindness, the entitled mom had NO substance with her complaint. I would have looked at her and said "So? Is she hurting you by not letting your daughter pet her dog?" Then apologize to the one with the dog and assure them that this will not be happening again. Legally, security must accept a person's word that they have a disability, even if it's a child joking and the parent is there with them denying it. We have to believe them otherwise we lose the contract, our job, or worse. I just wish it was legal to body slam Karen's...

I have several disabilities and i completely understand her. I would've been the first to stand up for her. Not all disabilities are the same and or seen with the naked eye.
Mine are my lungs, ears and spine.

For the second story honesty and open communication is the key to any relationship. You can’t not tell your partner things just because you think it will upset them. Open communication is key, this will only cause resentment to grow on both ends. I don’t know any advice that would help other than maybe getting a unbiased third party to help them work it out otherwise this will grow into a bigger issue and maybe even endanger the relationship. I really think a relationship counselor can be helpful especially since OP admitted that they overthink and that they still have some trust issues.

Story #4: Girfriend you don't live with who is acting like that? Kick her to the curb. That is not behavior that you'd be able to cope with long-term and you shouldn't let her get her feet under the table. Comminucation is key and it sounds like she hasn't learned it.

I find there's often two ways people treat disabled people.
Like they are something to ignore or that they have to prove their disability.
For context, my grandma runs a center for the disabled to teach them skills that will allow them to function as young adults.
I'm sometimes asked to come down to help since I'm physically fit to a degree.
Sometimes I'll be out with one of the students and people start asking me questions and I kinda just go "It isn't really my place to answer questions about my students personal life and conditions. You can ask them if they're comfortable"
The funny thing is that I find kids more aware of this than anyone else.

I can’t tell you how angry it made me to hear the story about the blind lady. Disgusting that there are people who behave like that.
As someone who was born with cataracts (got them removed luckily when I was a baby), and is legally blind, I absolutely HATE people like the first Karen. I know what it’s like to not even have clear vision, even with glasses because I just got surgery last Tuesday and couldn’t see well until like Friday. It’s really annoying and I don’t even wish it on people I hate. Please, if someone says they are blind just say okay and walk away. Most likely they will be faking it if their service dog is aggressive, though. So look out for that, I guess.

I do not understand why everyone thinks that being blind means having cloudy eyes. I had a classmate who was blind and his eyes were clear. He had a under developed optic nerve not a cloudy lense.
Last story: that relationship is more toxic then my 5th grade friendships and I sympathize with the op being neglected is the worst but at one point you gotta put your foot down and in this case how to do that is saying to her "you need to stop it's negatively affecting my mental health" and if that doesn't work then you clearly need to break up with her because anyone who just openly doesn't care about your mental health is not somebody that you should be on a romantic relationship with

Dang, I never knew people could be like that. Usually people like dogs and want to pet blind people's service dogs. Some will let them, some will not. There isn't enough awareness teaching people to not bother service animals.
I’ve heard owning a guide dog can be very rough for low vision/blind people. I.E.: Heard a story from someone I’m familiar with. He was going in a 7 Eleven, when he heard someone in a thick Indian voice, let’s call him Apu, started screaming at him to not bring his dog into his store. My friend pointed out how the ADA allows him to use the guide dog anywhere he wants to go, but Apu said, “No, I don’t care. Get the hell out of my store.”
The daughter is a sweet kid, I wish she won't be influenced by her mother when it comes to bad behavior.

He understood her point, immediately after her response and didn't try to make her prove it. Firing people for a social snafu is a poor way to treat your staff. Both guards later stood up for her when "Karen," grabbed her. Not everyone should be fired for being confused about how to handle a work experience.
Yes he did try to get her to prove it and did nothing to stop the Karen. She should’ve been tossed out of the store on her ass. Another security guard shouldn’t of had to get involved. Oh, and the Karen should’ve been arrested.
