Super cool, only bug is that visually it doesn't suit some machines esp if they are chrome... Yet as an individual design piece and considering its build quality it's spot on.
A collectors piece. As you mentioned its a little 'redundant' or overkill depending on how you look at things, but one thing is for sure, that it's a charming manual experience when you want it.
I added a magic tumbler to my HG-1 and it improved the experience in 3 ways: 1. no more static retention of the grinds at the bottom of the burrs, 2. no more grinds to clean up at the base of the grinder, 3. better distribution of the grinds in the portafilter. It's a worthwhile upgrade.
Vid popped up on my feed - I bought a HG2 gen 1 2nd batch they had a flaw in the gears which they fixed with a uprated bevel gear and it’s been flawless for 18 months grinding out 4-5 espresso’s at home daily - as for the conical vs flat …….meh I digress I enjoy the manual experience and the digital emulation of a Cremina profile on my Decent (still need to manually stop at 36 or 50g depending on the day - enjoyed the vid!
What an Amazing piece of industrial design!

I love my 1ZPresso K-Plus. I use it 3x per day, in spite of having a built-in grinder in my new Breville Barista Pro.

I muted the sound and noticed I did’t need closed captions since you spoke with your hands
hi, are you selling this grinder?
We did originally when they came out, but not anymore.
We now have this HG1 purely as a collection piece.
Hand grinder is a much better choice for filter coffee. On the other hand, electronic grinders have edge for espresso over hand grinders.
