Tom Platz has the most famous leg development in bodybuilding history, so I decided to try his leg workout and see what it really takes to build legs like his. With 43 sets spread over 6 exercises and a combined total of 705 repetitions, can I survive the Tom Platz leg workout? Watch the vid to find out! - Розваги
You can’t spell legendary without leg day… That’s absolutely brilliant lol
I have a tank that says this while Super Saiyan Vegeta is squatting haha
@@willshelby6172 I want that tshirt's link lol
That’s the best takeaway from the vid.
I'm gonna say this every single leg day from now on lol
14 year old girls everywhere had to pick their jaws up off the floor after he said that
"How many sets you got left?"
"11"
Imagine if Tom was there, right when you thought you were done with a set, he'd get 5 , to 10 more reps out of you.
He would've made sure I left in a body bag.
@@buffdudeshe'd be like "do 5! Do 10! Do 15!"
You gotta love in videos of his workouts where he’s literally screaming “kill me”
Tom was on serious juice to handle that workload. Not for the mere mortals.
Baby reps! give me baby reps!
That was extremely impressive. I don't remember seeing you with that level of leg pump before. Good luck with the DOMS... 😬
I've never had a leg pump like this before, and equally I've never had DOMS this bad.
@@buffdudesmy hamstrings felt doms after stiff leg deadlifts I can only imagine what you are going through right now 😂
what is DOMS?
@@andy80186 Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness
@@andy80186delayed onset muscle soreness
Basically getting sore a few days after working out.
One of the best nuggets of advice I ever hears was from Mike Mentzer saying these insanely high volume workouts only really work if you're on PED's
Insane pump there Brandon, looked like you could not bend your legs anymore :D solid premium content, thanks!
Awesome video! Reminds me of your OG ones from years ago. One thing that would make it better is if the camera person would focus on an overall zoomed-out shot during your reps. Zooming in and focusing on your upper body, along with moving the camera up and down with each rep not only is dizzy-making, but doesn’t let us see the entire movement so we can’t learn the proper form, which is one thing we watch for. Thank you for all you do for us!
That was awesome. Tom Platz is a huge inspiration of mine. Thank you for this!
can't believe you guys still on the rodeo, I remember starting working out like 5-6 years ago and watching your videos specifically to understand why I wasn't gaining any muscle LOL I started with 128 pounds not reached 177 pounds going on and off but always trying. Proud to be subscribe since then.... TRYING this next leg day LOL
Love this one! Love Tom Platz/Buff Dudes!
Very very very impressive! I also admire Platz’s dedication and unique approach towards building legs (esp quads) and have incorporated his techniques. I wasn’t aware of the amount of VOLUME associated with his workout routine. Def eye opening and goes against traditional practices I’ve been using so worth a try
Most inspirational workout I’ve seen in a while. Gonna try it out next time I train legs.
Buff Dudes should go and train with Mike Israetel and Jared Feather. Would be a fun episode 🙂
Of course an Arnold impression show down would be a must 😁
Oh yes definitely
Thanks for the work, enjoyed the video
Video 9 of reminding you guys of how much of an inspiration you are to us all. Love love
"Come on Brodin, get me through this"
🙏 wheymen.
...also god damn, that Ken Burns Civil War-esque fiddle playing over Brandon hobbling up to the camera lmao
Great video!
You guys should try a John Meadows/Dave Tate workout (maybe one with the cattle prod). Or you could do the Rich Piana 8 hour arm workout for fun.
Amazing craftsmanship, thank you for the insightful video.
Hats off dude, that's brutal! I tend to do maybe 20 sets for a leg day total so that's insane. Where did your source this workout out of interest?
Successfully attempted these this morning at 5am (first for me)
Absolutely killed me. Great motivation vid of the quad father's routine 🙏
3 days later. still cant sit on the toilet properly 😅
Doing this at 5AM is psychotic lol, how long did it take you?
@@RvP10s 2 minutes
Very good. But, can Buff Dudes do an 8 hour Rich Piana style arm workout? 😅
Tom would then bike home after..... a legend
Loved your work and it shows so much respect for Mr universe Tom platz you did him proud doing this video.
happy Halloween Buff Dudes and family!
I'm glad you included a next day section. All through that workout I was thinking 'He's going to be sore tomorrow'.
Yeah Another legend after Mike got covered by Buff Dudes. It was delight watching it, u crushed it Brandon 🔥
HOW ARE YOU NOT SWEATING?
It's really interesting to see you go from super low volume HIT training to something super high volume like this, though i imagine you could do your whole week's worth of HIT gym time in less time than it took to do this 1 workout. Which do you prefer and why? If you don't mind answering, obviously.
Hi Buff Dudes! 😊
Thanks for all your valuable tips and unique motivation! 💯
Is it possible to suggest, that you could try out kettlebells for one or more videos? Any input would be highly appreciated. 😎👍
Best regards from Denmark
Great Pump progression! Aye Brandon did the dang thang. Shout out for doing a legendary workout from a Legendary man on some Legendary kicks AF1 W/W
One the best video in a while, more of this kind of grinding 💪💪💪😎😜
Amazing workout!
Curious how long that routine took you, looked killer!!
Brandon I absolutely love this haircut of yours.
Me too.
Becoming the QUAD FATHER ain't easy. 💪💪💪
thanks for the video. entertaining
Great job and excellent effort! Search the leg workout Tom Platz took John Meadows through…also legendary.
I love your contents.
Major props to you for doing this one Brandon, took MASSIVE huevos to even attempt this.
Question regarding sequence though:
Would it be better to alternate between quad exercises and the others? Ex, instead of going 1 Squat, 2 Hack Squat, 3 Leg Extension, 4 Lying Leg curl, 5 calf raise, would it be better to go Squat- Leg Curl- Hack Squat- Calf Raise- Leg extension? That way you give your quads a chance to rest, while you torch something else. Or would that take away from the pump?
I remember Tom Platz from the 80’s. Go for it 💪💪
Running this with the boys tomorrow
How was it, mate? 😁
im glad u included the day after :D
Man, this video is getting me PUMPED to go get a PUMP!
That hack squat is a #kneesovertoesguy dream!!
How many sets total? I am not sure if I missed that part. Awesome video, BTW. I wonder if you could apply this concept to the chest? I wonder what that puml would be like?
These dudes are the best, Love the show Buff Dudes!
I enjoy that ... I learned something. I think a series of this would be awesome.....Arnold's chest. Dorian's back. Larry Scott's arms. So on...
I love this content
Love the old school equipment. Glad you could walk the next day.
They don’t call Platz the Quadfather for nothing!
Wow this is a lot like my leg day. Not as extreme but it’s enough for me to get a pump. Gonna try harder and go for this one
“Quad Father” you nailed it
I used to do his methodology on leg days. I changed pants size 2x in 6 months. It worked amazing for me. And yeah the doms lasted like 4-7 days.
What is odm
Maybe he meant DOMS as in delayed muscle soreness and it was typi
that's right thanks for the correction.. @@chawaphiri1196
Did you train legs once a week?
Now, I love doing back squats, but my gods, there are limits. I could feel the burn through my screen!
Best form I’ve seen in a long time
I have been focusin on legs lately and it is intense and difficult but satisfying.
Its always a good day when Buff Dudes post
Nice quads dude!
I really like that theres no ego when you train. You perform the squats with 1 plate and the hack squats without anny additional weights. And you know what? Thats absolutely fine! It gets the job done and it will make you grow. Sometimes it feels like today everythings about what weight you use. Its all ego
The hack squat variation you did is how George Hackenschmidt (who hack squats were named after) did squats. Dumbbell held behind the back, feet together, toes out, raise the heels as you come down.
Bro the editting at the leg extensions was epic. In my mind I heared the Nazgul theme from LOTR, I felt those reps
Talk about a leg workout from hell. 8 x 20 for squats??! Gosh damn. I did your P1D3 leg workout today from your 12 week plan, and I’m walking around like I crapped my pants trying not to get any caca on myself. Nice job Brandon. I hope I get work myself up to that one day.
Toilet squatting gonna be rough for a few days after this. 😂
They buff dudes simply have it all 😂 so god damn impressive
Many don’t know how to do sponsorship, but this was awesome! The VAST majority of the content was content not slinging sponsorship and the brief pitch was good and meaning because it was being EARNED by shlogging through a Tom Platz leg day. Well done buff dudes.
I love the attention to 80s detail.
Inspirational workout.
That next day walk. Feels like I had a prison date.
The music is spot on!!!
Me, with a meniscus tear, who cannot do more than a quarter squat with bodyweight: Yeah, of course I can. 😎
im glad that u are alive after this dude
Great job on the workout I could hear the inner arnold
You got this!😅
That looked painful just watching, but wow your quads looked like they were about to explode at the end.
TOM PLATZ could do 50 reps in one go moderate weight insane !
Well done 👏
Great workout. plaz did 2 types of hack squat. One for mass one for detailing. The ine you executed is the ine for detailing. Thus great great job and execution
Tom Platz was a madman!
Tom trained insane ,i like it
Man your legs is pumping like hell in front of camera. They are changing in shape and volume. And this build alot muscle. Be ready for the next days it will Hurt several days, and you'll feel hungry like hell. The best training video, really, never see this. Thank you.
Check out the YT video of Tom Platz putting John Meadows through Platz squats. Really great.
Damn.. this looks brutal !!!!
Thank you!! My quads aren't growing and haven't gotten sore in a month. Been trying different routines and nothing is working. I'm definitely giving this a shot
If you’re pushing to failure every workout, take a week to deload before trying this.
You should be trying to increase in weight per rep, or reps per set almost every time you work out.
@rivahkillah I do honestly. In fact, I'll even ask random ppl to spot me or I'll cheat the last couple. I've come to the conclusion that I'm on my feet all day walking at a brisk pace for work. So my legs never really get rest
@@rivahkillah what
13:50 Sounds like the camera guy tapped a car tire. 😂
Can you guys make a video or have done a video on a push pull leg routine?
Never thought I’d be in a buff dudes video that’s crazy
I am curious how long did the DOMS last? Did you take painkillers?
Great video, man!
Buff dudes yeah!
Respect 💯
I havent watched any other videos , is it normal for this guy not to sweat?
Nice leg pump 👍
Leg day and seated toilet time - thats where the battle begins..... Really impressive work again man, could really tell that workout session gave you the business!
Oooof. Yeaaa that's a goal to build towards lol
you guys should give rich pianas 8-hr arm day a go
I do tom platz legs at least once a month. I love it.
First time doing it tonight. Gonna feel it when I wake up dead tomorrow for sure
Watching this video on my off day was a bad idea. Now I want to go lift 😂
training hard is just one factor for success, the others being rest, food, supplements, genes to name a few.
Awesome
I’ve done this workout too but the point of it is, heavy weight for high volume. And yes I have tried doing 135 at first but it felt too light. I started doing it heavier and heavier now I’m at 275 for my back squat repetitions
