    Quick tip from a guy that uses exclusively DeWalt tools:
    No matter what new DeWalt saw you buy, be it this one, the Sawzall, the Circular saw, the full size grinder. the table saw, the miter saw or whatever (Those are just the ones I own): understand that DeWalt makes outstanding tools, but they are not a blade company.
    Spend a few extra bucks on the day you buy your tool, and pick up some Diablo blades for it. Every one of my saws is black and yellow...with a red blade. That's the color combo you want.

    I recently got one of these as a gift from a relative & she doesn't know anything about power tools but regardless I greatly appreciated the thought. I was skeptical about this grinder due to it being so small. Even had all the guys at work laughing when brought it out, but I must say I haven't gone back to my Max XR hd angle grinder since. This model is so compact & lightweight makes using a breeze. Obviously not as heavy duty but has gotten every job done. Typically use it with a 3ah or 4ah battery and no problems with it

      Tbf if you use it for what it's been designed for - Not what they'll market it as or how youtubers (not this channel) will push it's limits to create "bigger & better" content - it should be a good complement to a throw & go tool bag.
      It's a nibbling & convenience multitool, not a replacement for a grinder, circ saw or any wood working saw in my opinion.
      I'll be adding one to my toolbag and get your point totally btw. Best you can do is keep yourself safe and stay cynical to all the bs out there👍🏽

      @@theme6590 well said! That's why I like being a smaller and honest channel. I try to keep it real and use the tools how they're actually capable of being used. This tool has come in super handy for small projects, but don't get me wrong, it has its limits that you need to respect. The biggest limit is the depth of the cut, but other than that I've used it for close to 90% of my projects that needed a cut off tool.

    I just bought one. It works very well. The dust shroud is normally used for everything other than metal cutting, when it must be removed. What’s odd is that the manual shows a belt hook, or something similar, but it’s not in the package. I don’t understand that as every other Dewalt power tool I’ve bought (a lot!) has it in the box, even for bare tools. So I don’t understand that. Minor thing, but still…

    • @thehousemann
      @thehousemann  Рік тому

    Just got mine yesterday and one of the discs just would not fit. The manual said not to force it. Even trying it without force would cause large chunks of yellow paint to flake off the inner diameter and foul the threads in my chuck (sticks to the factory oil). It took longer than it should to confirm that it was the correct wheel but wouldn’t have taken nearly as long if it weren’t for the manual basically contradicting reality: You must force it. It will eventually fit fine once enough junk flakes off the inner diameter. I had to clear the threads with tweezers multiple times.

      www.amazon.com/dp/B09LR845HH?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
      That do make blades with teeth for cutting wood with this but first off the blades having teeth seem to be more prone to kick back. And you have to switch the blade around it you want to cut the other way. The blade I linked to cuts both ways.

      More for cutting than grinding, I used to use pneumatic cut off wheels as a mechanic a lot and this looks a little more bulky but thinking of buying one. I drive tow truck and need something to cut cable guard rails when cars and semis get tangled in them and busted winch cables. Might be good for cutting off loose parts on wrecked vehicles too. I’m thinking a grinder with a cutting disc might work better for that but this would take up way less space.

    You say it is super powerful because of the 10ah battery. That battery is no different then a 20volt, 5ah battery. The amp hour is the stored energy giving you run time and the 20 V is your power. So any Dewalt 20 V battery will give that tool the same amount of power. Just my two cents worth added here.
