Great teaching game to watch as a new player - thank you! I will probably watch this a few more times haha! Your channel is a great resource - subbed for all the great Bolt Action !
Really enjoy these games. Nice paint jobs and boards. As I don't get to play as much as I like, these are great rules reinforcements that help minimize rulebook references when I do get to play.
Beautiful table (as usual) and great game (ditto). I have an early war French army (sigh) which has had only one battle so far. This video has helped both with my facility with the rules AND my interest in the WW2 era, so far from my beloved Napoleonics. Thank you!
Great learning game, I love seeing these types of videos as they really help to promote the game and hobby. Interesting point about the ‘Tiger fear rule’ and why the Panzer 4 has it. I believe it’s because during and after the war a lot of allied soldiers reported encountering Tiger tanks, however, the number of reports was way more than the number of Tigers Germany ever had. Basically, a lot of men were misidentifying Panzer 4s as Tigers and freaking out when seeing one.
Great game but I love your winter figures. A couple of years ago you did a painting tutorial on your winter germans and it remains one of if not the favourite painting tutorial of mine to this day. I was wondering if you would be able to show your winter U.S. army and a quick explanation of the painting of this army also as they also look fantastic. Keep up with the great content. Best gaming you tube channel there is. Cheers.
Thank you so much! With my busy schedule, your videos help educate me about the game outside of spot reading. Love when give insight about rules you like/dont like and how you go about making it fair.
@@tabletopcp most tiger tanks could take out a t34 or Sherman from over a kilometre away. Allied crews were so fearful of Tiger tanks that from the limited view from a tank vision slot they could make a mistake from even short distances. Sticking your head out of the turret was suicidal as German snipers would often wait for tank commanders who made that mistake. Most Allied tank crews were very inexperienced and spotting the difference in tank designs took skills they didn’t have.
I’m liking all the CVS/Rite Aid winter trees. 😏. I’ve got a big bag of those myself. You kinda screwed Mike on his down troops at the 47:00 time mark, but it didn’t matter in the end. Good game, I hope he had fun. now you need him and your other friend you taught before to have a Vs game. :)
On the running into a building rule, I imagine it is the unit getting into position within a building at the windows etc. You dont have to do that when leaving a building. That is my take! As much as I love the Chain of Commands and O Groups, I do like the simplicity of Bolt Action. Awesome video yet again!
I missed the opening of the livestream, so I was having such a hard time figuring out which side was the long side. I watch the beginning of this video, “And that’s why we’re playing on a 4x4 mat.”
At 54:50 you were talking about tough fighter rules, any infantry unit with a weapon with the assault keyword gets to reroll succesfull hits. I have seen some units with the keyword, but those units have to be paid for per man to get the keyword. Where can i find the specific rules for tough fighters? Thanks in advance!
Tough fighter can either be a rule for the unit or given to individual models in a squad by giving them assault weapons such as SMGs, assault rifles, shotguns or pistols.
THE OGRES DEN?!?! You guys are in Sacramento?? No way! I’ve been watching your vids for a while now and I had no idea that you guys were in the same town as me!
Also, Americans withdraw or retrograde. Retreat is not in our lexicon. Trust me, I know 😂😂. Also, do you really round down when it comes to down HE hits?
@@tabletopcp I actually looked it up and it’s round up. It’s on page 69 of the rule book. It was nagging in the back of my head! Thank you for the response though! I’m not trying to be a stickler at all bc I enjoy watching your Bolt Action games! Definitely helped me learn a lot!

Lovely winter table you got there, and a very nice game too.

Great report....as usual. Table looks absolutely great!! Keep the BA content coming. Love the game and your reports! KUDOS!!!
Great bat rep...my local flgs just started carrying this and began a historical night. Looking forward to more videos and giving this a try.
Are those two cakes by the ruin for latter in the evening when you get hunger, the icing sugar finish makes the look most attractive!!
Just starting out in BA.....great learn to play videos
Tiger fear applies to the panzer mark 4 because allied troops would often confuse the two different types. From a great distant they do look similar.
All the more reason giving the pz4 tiger fear is ridiculous since a BA board represents about 150 yards or something.

@@tabletopcp perhaps as a gaming idea you could ignore the rule for experienced tank crews.
Sorry to hear about the gaming story closing down. We got one here in my town, and i swear it is hanging on by a thread for sure.

Yep. Well Cameron Park. Our store was Ogres Den though. Always looking for more players for the Nerd Cave.
Are you using the 2nd Edition rules in this game? Thanks.
Yep 2nd edition.
Is this the first edition rules you're playing with because cant see anywhere that says HE shot kills automatically on a 2+ in the second edition?
It’s based on the pen value of the HE vs. the level of the target. So a +3 pen vs. regulars would need a 2 to kill
Also, Americans withdraw or retrograde. Retreat is not in our lexicon. Trust me, I know 😂😂. Also, do you really round down when it comes to down HE hits?
It was a tactical redeployment. 😄. I am pretty sure you round down. Of course I could be wrong.
