It's great to see a Battle of France game! I've always loved the early war French uniforms and equipment.

Those dice rolls killed Andre. It reminded me of those wrestling matches on Saturday afternoon TV where it was like Ultimate Warrior vs. Alan Taylor, some local guy they just threw in there. I hope his luck turns. Throw those dice out. I have to say, those trees look incredible.
Can’t say I’ve seen such unfortunate dice rolling as I did in this game! Poor Andre! Fun to watch, though.

It's always great to see some early war Bolt Action, it always makes for really entertaining games. I can certainly relate to some of those dice rolls though, utter carnage! Cracking game 🙂
Thoroughly enjoyed watching this game. André's luck was generally appalling, save for his sniper team which culled the Bosch herd.and his one close combat. Lovely terrain! Well done!

Flamethrower templates are righteous. Mortar scatter + flamethrower template would be my ideal combo.

Ouch - I think Andre needs to use some of the Patreon funds to buy new dice! Mind you, surely all the bad rolls have been wrung out of them by now, so maybe next game will see the pendulum swing back in his favour...
I liked this video very much, but I have one suggestion; I think it would be easier for us to follow if you kept one viewpoint for all camera shots, so that in this case it would be from the german side. Then the overhead camera (very good by the way) should show the german side at the bottom of the screen, and all close ups would also be filmed from one side of the table, in this case the german position. Then whatever shot we should see, we always now that the german side is downscreen, and the french side is upscreen!
I really want you guys to play some old school 40k now.
There is a 40k chain of command variant. Haven’t tried it. Maybe Travis will want to get some use out of those 40k models collecting dust.
I know it was hot in the nerd cave but at least the blue dice were there to cool it off a bit!

Hey guys, is this second edition? If it is it does have scatter on artillery. If you roll a one you roll a scatter die and the distance. A scatter die is just an order die. They have an arrow on them if you look.

Is the dead cow light cover? Could be handy for an officer or sniper.

love the matchup, too bad andre rolled consistently terrible. could have been a very interesting match. i quite like the early war vehicles. id love to get my hands on an italian army (especially because of the AS42 Camionettisti), but its so expensive in this economy... i dont even know how people can affort to play 40k anymore

At 26:38 how did the Panhard move from being tucked behind the bocage and out onto the road? I thought wheeled vehicles could only make two turns when they advance and could not change direction or turn when going in reverse?
@Friendly Fire even with recce it doesn't look possible. Vehicle reverses to edge of bocage (and friendly squad to it's left), 90 degree turn, reverses onto the road, 90 degree turn to face forward. Movement ends. I don't think it could have moved forward on the road after making a reverse move unless I'm completely enterpreting the rules wrong. Sorry for the lengthy comment, I just want to understand.
@@jusztinnemeti6380 From what I remember of that move it reversed 4" with a 90 turn to get the front pointed at the road and then moved forward onto the road with another 90.
@@andreleineke7219 Thank you. I was interpreting the rules wrong. I was under the impression that a vehicle could only go forward or reverse and not change direction during its movement. With the allowed two 90 degree turns, that's logically possible and the rules don't dispute such a maneuver. Makes recce a lot more valuable to me now.
hey mate, love your videos, you made me start Bolt Action about a year ago. wanted to ask, do you find these B.A. Alliance missions work fair with British armies? There is no bombardment involved, so im sceptical if that takes away some of the fun
They work fine for all armies. The preliminary barrage is really only for attack and defend missions. To give the attackers an extra turn to move up while the defenders theoretically rally off the effects of the barrage.
The British would still get their Observer and artillery strike.

Noob here, great report & I'm wanting to start a German army similar to yours.
BUT
Can you clarify whether you're using proxies for your Heer list as Warlord games has Winter Heer which is different looking to yours.
This is not a winter army it’s just early war. I do have winter German army though.
@@tabletopcp I know they are not winter infantry. It's the fact that HEER is in the title & I'm thinking that they are Heer infantry like the winter heer infantry box.
I looked at Wikipedia & German Army (1935-1945), or Heer, for the Second World War Army of Nazi Germany.
As a noob, I didn't know heer means German army until I looked into it.

@@Salty_Sassenach yep they are Blitzkrieg. If you bit these do yourself a favor and get the warlord German pioneer infantry box. It’s the same box as the regular Blitzkrieg infantry box but has a bunch of extra bits to make some pioneers with.

I might be wrong but I believe you can only take a free artillery if you have paid for another one, you can’t include one on its own for free. Like I said I might be wrong but that is my understanding
