Just built this frame last weekend. Also on 6s and with 3.6" gemfan props. Decided to go with rcinpower 1507 motors because as far as testing goes i do believe taller motors are more responsive but overheat easier. So far no issues with overheating and it rips. Only use 550mah 86g lipos so its power to weight ratio is quite nice.
I turned my F3 split into an F35 Split and built a second F35 split also! I freaking love them! The original is sporting T-Motor p1604s and a naked o3au. The newer one has the P1804 T-Motors and a Polar Vista for night flying. I usually run the GNB 930 mah 6s packs but sometimes I even run my standard 1300mah packs. With the Gemfan 3.6" props, it's no issue at all! These things are so much fun!
Great video. Bro. I'm building one now and I'm also looking for a good motor. Also, cool you, but the DJI Action on it is what I was planning on doing. It's also cool to see it fits great on it. I'm getting an action just for this build, lol.
I freakin’ love my F35! I’m a little sad that by the back left stand off I’ve already broke the frame but it still flies well. I’m just waiting on an antenna for my WS vtx and then it’ll be back up and shredding. I’ve been flying it with EMax Evo 2204 3000kv motors on 4s but I might have to try 6s again on it.
I built a similar build with the aos 3.5 frame. You might find the motors I used to be right up your alley. I used Rcinpower GTS V3 2105 Plus 1850KV/2950KV/3600KV. I'm using the 3600kv with motor output at 90% on 6s and it's a monster. Unibell design as well.
Also, 2204 motors are great but you might get a similar stator volume with a 1507 and there are some really good 1507 motors that are unibell. if i were you i would consider the foxeer datura which im pretty sure is a rcinpower rebrand. you could also go for a 2203.5 like the diatone mambas which are unibell, but lower kv. you could also go for the hglrc aeolus 2006 in 2800kv, but i dont know if you would like to have a t mount shaft. you could also go for the rcinpower 2104 in 3000kv, but you will have slighly less stator volume, and once again it has a non m5 style shaft.
Im looking for a 3.5'' build that feels like a 5'', I also need it to be durable in order to fly bandos and Im using the o3 aire unit as my video so it would be great to avoid props on it. Would this build be something you would recommend for what I'm looking for? or do you have anyother suggestions or changes to make? Amazing flying as always!
Im thinking of building one of these. You said in the video that the motors you used were not that durable, so i was thinking of using the RCinpower 2105 2950KV motors. They are tecnically not made for 6s but I am thinking of trying it out since they are a mono bell design, and are RCinpower. So they will probably last longer. I was also thinking of the iFlight XING 2205 2300KV, but they have a lower KV, so im not sure. Have you swapped the motors yet or are you still on those Axisflying ones? If so, i would be interrested in which ones you decided on.
i was going to suggest the motors im planning to run, the tmotor 2203.5 but i forgot they were only 3.5 stators for a second haha i ran the higher kv ones on 4s and worked great for my heavier 3.5'' skylite but i have a pair of the lower kv ones to run 6s on my future 3.5". Im pretty sure you run those on your djinn so maybe its not what youre looking for! if you find a more durable option we'd love to hear about it
That thing looks like it would be really heavy for that size prop but the flight footage looks like a 5" so it's obviously working. I usually try to go as lite as possible with micros but maybe I need to try a heavier more powerful build.
Bulding mine f35 with RCINPower GTS V2 1506 and hqprop 3522, 3528 and have 3630 on the way one piece bell. 3000kv seems bit juicy but ill see how it goes. got them 7 of em for 50 bucks so wanted to try em out
I got a Volador 3.5 inch with an 03 air unit that I just built. 2203.5 Tmotors. 3550 kv on 850 mah new rlines. 4s. I run 6s on my 5 inch ao i was trying a lighter battery type for fun.
It still needs a tune but its crazy fast and handles super great. Just some throbbles and shakes on turns. Trying to learn to tune on my own with no presets to get experience finally in it.
@@MurdersFPVRight on, it's what they run on the volador 3.5. Almost went with the 1604 T Motor's from your SF3 build. The 18's are pretty big, not sure how much protection they'll get from the arms.
Hey man,im making a quad with the same frame and 2910kv motors, when using a 6s battery should i limit the motor output? My motors are compatible with 4-6s batteries but i dont wanna damage them
So far I was exclusively flying 5" quads. However, your video inspired me to build a ""sub-5"-freestyle". Assuming 3.5" frame, 6S battery, w/o GoPro and 3.5" props, which motors would be the best choice? I cannot decide between 1507 and 1804 (5 mm shaft). Any suggestions?

Was wondering if either you murders or just anyone here watching like me with this frame if yall would recommend going the 4s route with the 1604 t motor motors or 6s with the 1605s or even the same 1604s?
I highly recommend sticking with what you're comfortable with. 1604 on 4s will definitely work. There's nothing wrong with that setup. I tell people all the time that Quadmula has been the most ethical company I've worked with in the hobby. They have never escalated a situation, especially publicly. They will move mountains to offer support however they can. They are extremely generous and not just money hungry vilians trying to make a buck. They have never asked me to sensor anything about their frames, and they strongly encourage feedback from me and the community. They listen carefully to criticism, and they have always respectfully replied in detail and with a lot of thought in their words. It's why I'm honored to represent them as a sponsored pilot. They are pilots too who just want to make the best product they can and grow the community they love.

rcinpower 1804 could work really well in this build. The 6s 2450kv version. I have been waiting for this frame, great stuff!
1804 is a great choice for this build. I don't think it could carry an Action 2 nearly as well, but I'd likely just rely on the O3 for footage.
