That's it. I'm building a barn.
dude they got some cheap nice sheds at home depot lol
Yup.
@@Haku_records Lmao!!!!!!! Actually a good idea though bro!
DO IT!
Reporting back. Found one today for 90$ a month. This mofo was 2 stores, And they deliver it to your house for free. 🔥🔥🔥
“I was talking to my dealer ....” how true, man, how true.
Yeah I'm hip
Sometimes I wake up on Monday and forget about Epic Home Studio then I get the alert and I’m pumped!
I am a proud father. The Lenahan Mic Pre was built by James T. Lenahan, Jr. Jim worked with Mike Soldano on the early Soldano amps. He also worked for SLM building Ampeg and Crate amps. When Jim moved back to Arkansas to help care for his parents, he started building mic preamps, boutique guitar amps and guitar pedals. You can check out his amps, pedals and other stuff here: ua-cam.com/users/jamestlenahan
Sadly, Jim passed away in October of 2016, right after he had finished a build of a Marshall clone, so he didn't get to make a video of that amp. His brother and sister gave that amp to me for my studio. Everyone that comes in thinks it's a real Marshall and just go ape over how good it sounds. Jim was a master at building amps and pedals. So anyone out there that has one of his pedals or amps, consider yourself very lucky.
This is why I love living in Nashville. So many great musicians and studios in this area.
Absolutely.
It aways makes me smile when i see thousands of dollars in acoustic panels, bass traps, anehcoic materials .. and an acoustic guitar hanging on the same wall. Like I do of course.
NOW THATS THE DREAM STUDIO , THATS THE DREAM SETUP , I NEED THIS PLAN LOL , My only issue i will have is mine being built with concrete because we get some serious hurricane n earthquakes in the Caribbean
This Spot puts The DREAM in Dream studio amazing 😍 😍 😍 😍 😍
Amazing…Mackie MR8 MK2….excellent monitor..
I'm addicted to your channel.
Say a prayer for me.
I just found a different property that is one third the price with an unfinished 4000 square foot basement. Wish me luck. Restarting my engineering 32 years later. ❤
He should be proud. That place is beautiful! Great video as always!
Can't wait for the barn build 😅
This guy is so humble yet so brilliant using legacy digi design and old 192. What a great guy. Definitely a way to get into atmos cheap
Your content always makes me 😮
Resourceful. He's been around and his room looks great. Mazel!
Your gonna have to move to a new town full of studios ,soon lol, love your show
I think this is my 6th time watching this episode. It's the best studio for me so far, the vibe and everything 👍
Love that Michael Schenker V!!! The studio's not bad either.
jim lenahan made a few pedals and modded my guitar amps ...i miss that guy ..love seeing his gear being used
❤
My dude, this is a HOME STUDIO. I would be living there. Looks like my Condo right now.....except mine is fucked up.
This is one of the cooler ones.. the guy obviously has impeccable taste & a keen eye for detail.. he definitely gave me some ideas I hadn't thought of which I will be implementing to improve on my own setup..
One of the first mics I ever bought when I was in high school was the Blue Baby Bottle. It has been fantastic, and I've only ever used it, and totally understand being comfortable with it. If mine ever breaks, now that I have a big-kid budget, I think I will still buy a new one to replace it. Great studio, great interview, this is some serious inspiration for my own studio build when I buy my new house!
Midside miking on drums is awesome. Really crazy sounds when flipping phase back and forth to mess with it. The stereo image can become extremely wide.
Studio barn is obviously the way to go.
Amazing job , this guy is no slouch . Mr Dave is one hard working guy. That 40 G , I’m assuming is for the building , labor to put up and the concrete.
There is another easy 50 G of sweat labor or more , plus all that gear. This is easily a few hundred grand + as a whole. Shit this guy hit it out of the park.
People like him most likely don’t booze it or are stuck on video games , this is some work and then some. Congrats and good on you Dave
Thumbnail on point. GREAT STUDIO. GREAT VIDEO :)
This building is incredible..... What a great looking space really enjoy the layout of it!
this is why i wake up on mondays
I love these videos. Keep’em coming man!
I can only wish! Absolutely awesome 👍love these studio tours😎

wow, your studio has gotten much nicer in recent times. awesome.
Looking great! One those “thought of everything” studios. Well done!
It is very inviting. I love being in the recording studio.
awsome channel and a source of outstanding ideas, keep up the work and much succes!
I’d never want to leave!
Damn, that looks amazing... So proud of you. Best of luck to you! Just wow!.....
Videos are amazing. I'd love to hear as you're talking through the gear tiny little samples as you go along.
ATM-25 is a killer mic from the past. N0 longer made; your're lucky to have snagged a couple.
Absolutely beautiful! Thanks, guys.
Thank you for watching Layla!
David, what an AMAZNG place!! You are blessed and hope you receive many, many more blessings!!! Thanks for the tour, great channel! You guys have amazing vibes.
Little shop is about the size of my studio. Looking to the control room, looks like something from startrek
Beautiful Room!!!!!
WOW, what a set up!
Thanks for watching GG :)
Great video.Seems like a nice guy and a very inspirational studio. Really enjoying your studio tours. Best wishes from Beechwood Recording in Derry City Ireland...Brian.
SWEET!!!
That surname is insane
...just found this series - and this is the 1st one I've watched - so not sure if you've done this with the other shows, but - I would love to see the outside of the building as well (especially this one)... maybe a view walking up to the place from 100' away as you intro the clip?.... Otherwise, very inspirational!
wow that's a nice studio
wow nice studio!
Slick studio - thanks for sharing! Must have been built a few years ago. Lumber has gone up in price by 3x or 4x since covid. 😒
Looks like a nice set up
19:07 thats the alesis midiverb buckethead uses - setting 98 for big sur moon
Awesome...
Really cool interview
„Use what you know.“
cool panels! Never saw like those..
That's nice guys
I'd live in there
Thanks for mentioning the build cost! I love this series, however, I'd love to know the financials. How much did the build cost, how'd it get funded, what's the overhead, etc. It's one thing to have a dream but it's another to know what it's going to take to bring it to life. I hope that's something you start asking and the guests don't mind sharing 😊
Thanks Marcus, I mention it when they’re cool with talking about it.
@@AndrewMasters Ok, awesome! Thanks for clarifying that! I hope I didn't get too annoying with the multiple comments, just wanted to make sure you saw it haha. And thanks for doing this series. I, too, would love to tour multiple studios to get..."inspiration" 😂. So these are GOLD for me.
All you need is a room like in Hustle & Flow.
Wonderful man good luck
Thanks for making these videos
I just dream with a room big enough to fit my mpc laptop and midi controller and I be happy on day Yah give it to me
This is an awesome studio and I can see the hard work that went into creating it. Very nice !
Love the S3 and the AVID Dock combination.
Looks really elegant compared to two S1's.
It's like a mini S4.
40K?? How? Very nice
Hard work and careful planning.
Dope
I wish I could see the floor plan
That’s a lot of fun in 1200sf
COOL STUDIO
Very nice
Very cool
Amazing Place!! Go for the new Mac Pro ..I did and its AMAZING! I'm a film composer and run around 300 tracks of soft synths and another 200 audio tracks with plugins.. Just go for it ;) Congrats for your studio!
Only in Tennessee 😂
very coooool!
Home studio.... 😂 come on now!
Oh.... and next time close the bathroom door
Smart fella 👍🏻
Thank you thank you thank you for filming in 4K!!!!!!
Fun fact- All my vids are shot in 1080 all-I and up-resed to 4K in post
In Norway, it would take me at least $40k just to have the water and electricity work "I did" controlled and approved so that I can keep the build. Or the lawmakers, make me tear it down! Crazy expensive here. :( In fact, the same build would have cost me like $250k done myself, here in Norway, and about $400-500k to have it done.
plz talk more about speakers in the future thank you!
I love these videos! Makes me want to "steal ideas" too lolol! These home studios are amazing!
I just bought a barn. After watching this Im selling it and all my gear... So overwhelmed.
I always wanted to have an Avid Pro tools dock...
hey andrew I love your videos like so much man, but could you upload these videos in a higher refresh rate? they look like its at 20FPS
Mint🤘
Nice 👍🏾
Nice toyz!
Well...... DDDDDDDDDAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMM!!!!! Brings a tear to my eye. Nice!
yeah
I use Mackie mixers at every race and game where I'm announcing. My 802 VLZ3 is built like a tank. If I win, how about an ONYX12? Thank you.
Wow
So is that $40,000 with gear, and instruments? This is heaven for me. Amazing job!!
No build out only. All gear excluded
@@DavidDicksRFR After watching the video all the way. I realized what a bone head question that was. Great job, that place is amazing!!
It should have costed 200 000$ at best if done by "professionnals" (no offense, I just mean people who will work and send you the bill, not talking about talent). In interior architecture business we use 1000$ per square meter ratio for entirely renewed space.
Wait for the M1
The man did not feel like playing some drums
Cool
When he says that there was rockwool insulation and fabric ... what type of fabric was used? I'm not sure who sees this comment, but working on sound insulation for my basement live space and curious what type of "fabric" was used to try and capture sound from escaping.
Most of the fabric is black burlap. The live room panels are made from stretch velvet
Cover the fridge in acoustic foam😆
nah sound proof box!!!!!
Really very sweet setup there. I have to wonder though... with all these studios around where you live, how does anyone make any $$? Seems a lot of competition.
I wonder that too. Even in NON competitive areas it's difficult. Must be a labour of love, mostly.
Thank you for the video! How can I get a floorplan of this studio?
