Yea the blade is thin but that could be a good thing like you said. As for the sheath if they dont like it make your own LOL. I love all the knoves you had on the table. The right knife for the right job is a must.

I own this knife and it is a great knife the problem is that all the of the bushcraft bush hippies and hipster's on youtube lots of knife reviewer's as well all seem to think that you need to be able to spilt/baton wood with your knife. And I will tell you that any knife maker will tell you to not do that with there knife because that is not what it was made for. they will say ya you can do it if really have to but don't do it that is why there are axes.
It's called using the proper tool for the Job your not going to take a chainsaw and try and cut your dinner steak with it are you?
if you need to baton wood get a camp axe like a fiskers X7 or something of that nature and baton your little heart away but why this younger generation seems to be hell bent out batoning wood with every damn knife that is made and if it can't do that well then they think it sucks is beyond me!!
But just FYI you can Baton with this knife as there are many reviews out there of people doing just that like gideonstactical youtube channel.

That knife is a companion knife, not an all in one. It is not designed for batoning, but it does work well when you have a dedicated batoning tool. That knife is designed more for feather sticking and shaping the wood.

i think they are worried about batonning or chopping but anyone who cares about thir knife doesnt use it to baton you use a axe.

Thanks for the video. Good assessment on the knife. On the beveled edges, they are most likely not different degrees, the edge of the blade is not centered on the steel. This causes one side to show more than the other. The OCD in me demands I re-profile the edge.
Looking forward to see the testing phase of this knife

I picked this one up a couple of years ago and is my go to camping, light to medium use knife. Got it for 45 in a liquidation sale. Need to hit it with some flitz but no complaints for what it is.

This is a good knife. The only thing bothering me is to search for a left-handed sheath for it

A lot of people think that bushcraft is all about batoning wood with the knife. Bushcraft is about using resources you find in the woods in an effective way. This can be a great bushcraft knife for those who also bring a hatchet or some other chopping tool like parang or kukri to their adventures. You can take a beefy knife that could chop and baton through wood, but you’ll compromise on that slicyness thinner blades give.
All depends on what you prefer: carrying extra weight or putting more effort doing axe/chopping tool tasks with a knife.

Thinner blade...but Ontario has better carbon steel because of its long time knowledge than any other firms...this knife is able to cut some small trees during batoning and no problem...and the the combination with this sheath maybe interesting remind to what family the knife comes from, isn't it great??💯💯👍👍👍💯💯💯

All forms of bladed and blunt weapons are unlawful in my country unless it support occupational livelihood.
I love knives especially the fixed thick ones.i thank victorinox for being a safe tool all around.

i think that;s a decent mid-range budget bushcraft knife. i think it should do fine in a test. the grind is a bit of an issue..not because of the mis-matched bevel...but a Scandi grind would be my preference...

Hey thanks! Look, I still love and miss the original Altama 10in Leather Combat Boot. Wore them from the day I got the first ones issued in Basic at Ft. Knox until the mandatory switch over date in 2010. Never let me down.

So do you recommend this knife for a Hunting knife or should i just go with BPS cause i like the simple design. Not really a bushcraft person just got knowledge of survival and mainly a Rabbit Hunter.

I read the specs directly off the very messed up company website which of course was wrong! Too bad you're FUCKING BLIND, and didn't read the correction I PUT IN.
But you know, everybody in the internet gotta be the expert and 1 up I guess.

That knife is not an ideal blade in bushcraft. You compared the blade thickness of a Long blade full Tang knife to a short blade partial tang knife. (Deferent expectations) If it's sharp it will cut for a while. You talk about blade flexing, for a kitchen knife that's all good, but to you want to be whittling on something and keep fighting blade flexing? In my personal opinion I would never buy that knife with that sheath. I don't have a problem with the sheath, but it is a mix match with the styling of the knife. For my money their are better options.
