Great video. I am 76 years old and permanently disabled so I can't get out in the woods anymore. I appreciate your videos so I can tag along and learn from you!

Andrew, I want you to know you literally changed my life. Your skills and knowledge, understanding of survival laws, positive attitude and amazing experience - I feel like a sponge, absorbing all of that. It made me feel like a part of the nature everytime I go outdoors to practice and have fun. Thank you Ranger!
This is a video I'm going to save with its step-by-step instructions on what to do and how to do it. The hardest skill is the pump drill which starts at 8:55.
Man that knife you've got goin is wicked sharp..what an edge...Hatchet too...I was looking for a brand but on my phone I can't see it...I've paused and looked 10x already...I've been contemplating a new knife.. I carry an old (40 yrs) case xx 4 dot 8" fixed ... it's getting to be more like a fillet knife...Does anyone know what brand knife that is?
Rub these sticks together and they'll create the heat you need to light the match u have in your pocket. Save you striking it against maybe a wet substance and ruining your match. If all else fails take out your lighter rub it against a tree for an hour
Andrew, as a disabled vet, I appreciate your very instructional straightforward videos. I have learned much and will enjoy as long as you are posting. Thanks!
This nails it exactly. Survival is a mindset. Seeing what resources are available to you and how to use the resources. I remember watching the videos of the guy who lived in Alaska by himself (Dick Preneke, Alone in the Wilderness). Watching him build his cabin was mind blowing.
An excellent class Andrew! Your vids are always informative and enjoyable. I learn something new with each one. I appreciate the time you take to put it all together. Thank you sir. Bravo.
I would like to know the knife, saw and axe you use in this specific video, they are not in your list. Also your ferrous rod looks way better than the one I've been trying to use.
Finally!!!! Some lessor covered content! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS! THANK YOU FOR COVERING MORE THAN BASIC SKILLS! ID LOVE MORE INTERMEDIATE AND EXPERT TIPS AS WELL! KEEP UP THE OUTSTANDING WORK!
@@RangerSurvivalandFieldCraft Awesome, thanks. Also, just an idea for another video, I tried looking and can’t find a video anywhere of someone doing a comparison on Kevlar cord verses Bank line and which is better for what. You can throw paracord in there as well and maybe some of your favorite uses for them. Seeing your take on making a raised platform shelter between a couple of close trees would be cool to watch as well. Best wishes from NC!

Shit. Didn't know he was a major🤷🏼♂️ usually it's grunts who do the hard work👍 then again, I've never been in the military. But I work like a grunt anyway💪🏴
Great stuff. Been meaning to ask you where to find the hollow belt that you can put a bow saw blade into. Can't recall what it was called and I've not had any success finding one.
I'm not criticizing but it would have helped when you was making your mail it to cut the ring around the top while it was still hung to the tree and then you wouldn't have to fight it on the ground
Thank you again for sharing your skills with us ,I'm still working out the simple bow drill I reside in the Pacific Northwest can you tell me what is the best wood t harvest for said bowdrill.

"Mommy, what is that man doing to himself over in the bushes? " "Um, he's just making cordage dear."

Does anyone know where you can get the leather pouch he has in this video?
"Knowledge weighs nothing.'' Thank you sir 🤠👍
Like hell
The weight of Knowledge is in its proper application. With great power comes great responsibility.
Yet it outweighs everything.
knowlege to bring an axe instead of a saw weighs something . what a weird phrase
having lugged around books for many years, I can tell you the weight of knowledge depends heavily on the format in which it is stored.
The pump drill has got to be the most exotic of primative methods to start a fire. You could do a whole video just on that.

Thanks for posting these valuable skills👍
Becoming a top survivalist/prep channel.👍👍
If you put down a piece of tarp, when you do your carving, you can collect those chips, which will come in handy when you need to build a fire
Andrew, you and Shawn from Corporals are the two guys I've learned the most from. Always outstanding information on your site. Thanks.

40’ was about the right length for a small 2x1’ Net
