  • A Front-to-back look at reloading 40 caliber cartridges. Also in the video I show decapping the primer prior to lube and that is incorrect. I always lube prior to going into the dies.

If the case is wrinkling you didn't ck case length?
    Use case trimmer.

Your question about the case bulge/ripple... look for a Lee die called a "bulge buster". It fits on your sizing die and does wonders for taking the Glock bulge out of cases; I have to think it would work on your ripple, too. The nice thing about it is you can feed loaded ammo through it.

Why lube with carbide dies? I read you don't need to lube with carbide dies.

Great Video! I pick up a lot of 40 cal. range brass and find that if the round was fired in a Glock, it sometimes has a bulge. When loading, if it will got fit the gauge I run the round through my Lee Factory Crimp Die and it always seems to bring the case back into spec. I hope that helps........Keep the reloading vids coming I really enjoy them !

I shot 40 Cal threw Glock 27 And i get the glock bulge and when you resize it it should take it out but when you flair you are doing your flair to far down. you only need to flair the vary lip of the shell. if you run threw the resize die and then put threw the go no go check you will see its messing it up on you flair. and if you measure your loads and are good with a .005 over then why did all these reload company's take the time to get the load right. no need to lube after resize RESIZE is the reason to lube when you reload sometimes when you reload rifle loads your rifle case will get stuck so use Vaseline as a lube....

there is no need to lube 40 brass. it will size easy. Only lube rifle and 9mm. 9mm is often stiff to resize and lube will help. Also, lube prior to it being sized and use the press as is designed. Put the casing with spent primer and run it through all the stages. no point to cleaning primer pockets. I used to and stopped and never had a problem
