I like when companies ship guns in cardboard instead of plastic cases. Lower the price $20. Those cases take up too much room in the safe. They just get stacked up in a corner and eventually go in the landfill.
SPN, Thanks for featuring the Diamondback. I got my DB9 G4 couple of months ago because of you and it has run flawlessly. Deep concealment for summer shorts, and work. The magazine is a B to get out but doesn't concern me because of defence statistics. Has been very accurate.
Kel tec 3AT .380 's have a 9 round extended base magazine that work in this pistol flawlessly on their website.. I own 5 of the 9 round magazines and the 7 round with metal base extension, all run good in DB380.
The db 380 is literally a kel tec copy, a worker left keltec with the blue prints and went to diamondback. That’s also when keltec started patenting their fire arms
I appreciate your channel for the practicality. I’m a dad myself of 3 young boys and work a blue collar job in rural Pennsylvania. Most UA-cam channels don’t pertain to a practical lifestyle of just being a regular guy. I have full-size firearms and some old generation compacts (26 size) but 9/10 days I’ve got an M&P bodyguard .380 on me. If I’m going to an urban area sure I’ll grab a compact or full size but the bodyguard is with me always… I also wanted to ask if you have Rifles and Shotguns? I’ve had several over the years but I always sell them. I’m a handgun guy and don’t really have interest in the others
I paid $180 for the DB9 brand new from PSA. I bought the metal extended magazine to carry one bullet extra that has a pinky extension from the factory. Also, I bought a CYA holster for the DB9. CYA holsters are AAA+ quality holsters, highly recommend their IWB.
Nice little gun. Appreciate that you got one. Have heard the DB380 isn't as reliable as the DB9... but most people I know with them have had them run just fine. When I googled it before though, there were several people that said they were not as reliable as the 9mm. I can't verify that they actually owned any though.
Over 6 years ago I bought a Davidson Exclusive, all OD Green 380. Worked 25% of the time. Sent it back. Next one was working @80% so I called Diamondback, sent it in and it's 100% ans one of my most accurate 380's. And I have 9 380's. I'd buy a Gen4 in a heartbeat.
SPN, I just found some of your videos on pocket pistols and have found them to be very informative. I generally carry a 9mm IWB with a 380 pocket backup. My current pocket pistols are the PT738 TCP and the S&W M&P Bodyguard. The TCP has the better trigger while the Bodyguard has better sights. I am seriously considering the LCP Max for my next acquisition and would be interested in your insights. Thanks for the video and keep shooting 👍.
Diamondback is so slept on. Couldnt imagine iwb with anything else. Big Dot tritium sights from XS takes the DB9 platform to the next level. Glows really bright but only in the right spots for a quick sight acquisition. Makes your tool feel like its from splinter cell. SPN, could you feature some tritiums on the DB(s) for us. I ended up buying mine when you announced their sale a few months back.
I appreciate your real world experience and practical knowledge on such a huge variety of CC pistols. I have to wonder though.. I know you have to have some other types of pistols in your collection. Some steel framed or SA/DA guns? 🤔
It's only like 0.02" thicker than the Beretta Pico... but it has a much larger grip, because the area above the trigger is not nearly as thick. It's like a Beretta Pico, but without the Pico problems too. I really hope to get one myself when I can. They're excellent guns. I love the LCP (even more than the LCP II) and this is almost identical in size... but it's definitely thinner. Surprisingly though, it weighs a slight bit more. I really think I would prefer the DB380 over the LCP if I had to choose one.
On my gen 4, racking the slide is pretty hard compared to other pistols, its my only 380 (dog walker). Also when racking if not done hard and fast, it does not want to feed, but I dont care as I will not be doing mag changes. Have about 300rds thru it. Few minor issues in the 1st 50-100rds, at which point I did polish the feed ramp, and its been good ever since. Please keep us posted on any issues.
The db 380 is literally a kel tec copy, a worker left keltec with the blue prints and went to diamondback. That’s also when keltec started patenting their fire arms
P3AT and P32s are internal hammer fired. The DB series has always been striker fired. The internal safetys and slide disassembly are all radically different. Idk what fairy tale you heard but its BS.
Kahr CT380. 3” barrel, 7+1 with a flush fit mag, Stainless steel, .75” wide. Very hard to beat for pocket carry. Fit and finish is head and shoulders above diamond back.
I've been eyeing one of those. I imagine the recoil impulse is much better. Apparently you can also get a Magguts spring that can give you 8+1. I'm pretty certain it allows you to keep the factory follower, baseplate, and magazine body too.
I'm glad you've had good luck with your Kahr. Mine was junk. Wouldn't go through one mag without 2 - 3 malfunctions. I allowed for it's break in period. Mine was junk, plain and simple. I could never recommend a Kahr handgun to anyone that I cared about, but I just may have owned a lemon. Just wanted to share my experience.
My best friend has one of these(9mm version) and I've shot it a few times including again last week. It seems to do just fine as long as weird self-defense rounds aren't put through it. Works just fine with FMJ ammo, but we at least know that the "RIP" rounds don't work well with it LOL. It's probably one of the more convenient pocket 9mm I've ever seen.
Man! DB needs to stepitup n maka dbl-stack!!! How'd u compare this vs LCP max? I love tha look of tha DB, butit bugs that slide don't lock back. Also, given that 380's already "marginal" for SD use, I feel like tha capacity advantage of the LCP MAX, could LITERALLY be a life-saver. It seems tha DB's trigger's superior, but that'll hardly come into play, unless distances open-up, right? Let's say u had to maka 15yrd shot(s)? How doable izit with either? Thx!
I have one of these and it is easy to shoot and has been flawless with over 300 rounds through it. The challenge is finding kydex holster options for it.
I don’t care about the fit and finish I want it to run when I need it and this gun is the best I’ve seen for pocket carry I’m really impressed with this gun it has a special place in the concealed carry system but I love it and the db9 gen 4 is next lol great video
You're exactly on the money and how we think the same. Why do manufacturers include stuff that we will never ever use? Give me a cardboard box and lower the cost of the pistol any day.

Bodyguard 380 is just ass😂 hate to see it hold popularity over things like this
Love your videos brother, I think you’re quite wrong about a few topics, but the way you carry and the message you push is undeniably important, however in this video you state “you’ll have to retract yourself how to pull the trigger” and unless you’re a weekly range shooter or a LEO, that’s not a good thing, it’s better to go with a different pistol if you require additional training to operate the system, that’s my opinion tho, as long as they carry idgaf lol
Idk why .380 gets such a bad rap. It’s a great lightweight pocket rocket. In the unlikely event someone’s still coming at you after dumping 6-7-8-9 rounds of quality self defense .380 in them, you probably shoulda just stayed at home.

Yea but you could buy 2 of these and 3 or 4 boxes of good hoĺlowpoints for the same price
Just picked one of these up today going to take to the range in the morning 🤘🏼

I prefer a 3 finger grip it looks very appealing for a mouse gun
Screw the haters good man. I value what you have to say.
Soooo many haters with an opinion in the gun community. It’s so toxic.
DB380 does not have second strike capability. You have to rack the slide for each trigger pull. Do I understand this correctly?
Always good info! Thank you!
That grip angle really bothers me. It's damn near 90°
You haven’t held it tho? It’s the most natural aiming pocket pistol and I carry a lot of Glocks
@spnfirearms Yeah, I've held them before. We sold them at a shop I used to work at.
I winder if you could have the slide machined or tapped so you could mount a micro red dot
