That band was so good that Massachusetts named a whole city after them.
😂 😂
You win the internet for that one lmfao.
👍✌️😁🍸
LMAO
@Joe S ...Buzz kill...lol
No one hits it like Brad- criminally underrated and always remembered RIP
The 70’s had the best vocalists ever....no offense to other decades but there was just something special about the singers back then.
That and the 8 track 😜 We had Boston on 8 track!
That's true, but there was something extra special about Brad Delp.
Chris Cassaday top 5 singers of all time IMO.
I agree in general...that being my time of young adulthood But I gotta say, after discovering these reaction channels last year and because of that listening to metal, grunge and other genres really for the first time, I have to give a shout out to the vocalists of the ninety’s....Kurt Cobain, Layne Stanley, Eddie Vedder....and the singers for Soundgarden and Queensryche who’s names escape me at the moment. I’m old so I have an excuse. Those guys we’re
all fire.
TRUTH!
In1976. We knew how special these guys were....no one else sounded like them
Many say that this debut album is consider the best debut album ever cut. Every song is a gem.
And everything except the vocals is one guy.
Dave
Tom Scholz - electric guitars, lead guitar, acoustic guitars, clavinet, organ, bass guitar, design consultant, remastering, liner notes, production, engineering
Brad Delp - lead and harmony vocals; acoustic guitar on "Let Me Take You Home Tonight"
Sib Hashian - drums all tracks except "Rock & Roll Band"
Jim Masdea - drums on "Rock & Roll Band"
Barry Goudreau - rhythm guitars, lead guitars on "Foreplay/Long Time" and "Let Me Take You Home Tonight"
Fran Sheehan - bass guitar on "Foreplay" and "Let Me Take You Home Tonight"
@Marc Poindexter Barry grew up in back of me Sibby was my best friend drummer and best friend until he went on tour with Ernie Boch's band Ernie and the Automatics when they went on tour with Depp Purple.I ended up taking Sib's place playing drums for my best friend. I also saw Boston's first un official first gig outside Lynn English High school in lynn Mass. That must have been in 75 Damn I'm old lol
@@djimaging2 that's so fucking awesome
Agree, almost. I consider the first Led Zeppelin album The Best ever.
Arguebly the greatest debut album in the history of recorded music.
Not a single bad song on it....greatness!!
React to Boston's Foreplay/Long time.
Peace/light/love!
✌☀️💗
The first 3 albums... perfection... not a bad song...
@@jazzyboy7784 Agreed....
All great albums, but their debut album is undeniably their best,..and historic as such ....and not just their best, but perhaps the best album ever to be released by any band. I'm not braggin' on Boston ( as I love Zep/Floyd/Journey etc... right up there with them, ) but I have to give credit where credit is do. As much as I like/love other bands, I don''t think any of them released an album that had hits from front to back like Boston's debut release. I've spent my whole life listening and playing every genre of music....no other band has released an album that rocked and vibed like Bostons debut did. The second best might be Appetite for Destruction by GnR.
Keep in mind, I'm not picking by my favorite band, I'm picking by honesty of the quality of each being a debut album... there are other bands that might ( by personal preference) equal or surpass the band but not as a debut recording..
Boston's 1st album is EPIC!
👍🏻👍🏻✌🤗😎🎶🎵🎶🎶
I'm a huge V.H. fan and LUV their 1st album but i would have to concur BB. My Fav is - Hitch a Ride but yes the whole album is the greatest debut album bar nun.
@@atomicpunk520 Damn... Mad props AP.
I don't why I forgot about Van-Halen's 1st album because that would slip right in there with Appetite. I'm a huge VH fan as well.
Wowza!! I'm shocked I forgot how good that album was? If I were to critique it falling to Boston it would only be because of their cover of Really Got Me and On Fire... the only 2 songs that were just a 'tad short 'of hitting the mark but 'weren't bad at all'..AT ALL.. just a hair/fraction enough to be edged out to Boston. Great job my friend, I'm right their with ya... ! 👍🏻👍🏻
I used to play Little Dreamer in cover bands I was in... 😎✌
Definitely
Another classic forever, they don't get any better than this one! This is one that even after 1,000 listens it never gets old!
Lead singer, the Late Great Brad Delp!! How that Man, Hit them High Notes🎶 , I'll Never know!!
I love how “black and white” people respond to each other’s music. It is complete admiration and respect ✊
Boston's "More Than A Feeling" is truly a classic rock anthem and it is pure FIRE!!! It will never get old!!!
Foreplay/longtime by Boston. Ah-mazing.
One of the greatest voices in Rock. RIP Brad Delp
Tragically, the lead singer Brad Delp took his own life, but his music lives on, and your reaction is testament to that legacy.
The pipes? Dang... that man had the voice of an angel. That's so sad...
Tom Schultz is not only the killer guitarist but also the songwriter, producer and a bag of chips
Singer Brad Delp was on a whole other level. Amazing vocals years before auto tune.
This is the song that introduced Boston to the world... Everyone flipped!!
I was just 14 years old when this album was released. I had the same expressions on my face that I saw on your face. "More than a Feeling" is my all-time favorite song. When I'm driving, and it comes up on my playlist... I have an involuntary reaction to crank it up, roll down the windows and still try (but fail miserably) to hit those high notes. I'm now a 58-year-old white dude, watching you react so positively to music that truly touched my soul. Music brings us all together. Got to try Foreplay/Longtime next. God bless you Jay Rah.
Boston;. Smokin!!! , Peace of mind,. Rock n roll band. ,. Must listen!!
Let's not forget, Foreplay/Longtime, also. 😉
Boston ..whew debut album .nothing but FIRE ,whole damn album..RIP singer Brad Delp .crazy high range!
Foreplay Longtime is pretty amazing.
Agreed. This should be next. Foreplay/Longtime has what I consider the definitive guitar tone of 70s radio.
yes! Foreplay/Longtime should be next
absolutely... goose bumps every time
Hitch a Ride, fore play / longtime ,you really can’t go wrong on this album. I love Boston 3rd stage album as well All great songs and I won’t leave out don’t look back. But 1 & 3 are my favorites.
The incomparable Brad Delp. Best rock debut album ever.
Boston was the anthem music for the whole 70's rock & Roll vibe
Omg you’re listening to Boston now!?As a native Bostonian please keep listening. This whole album and all the instruments were originally recorded from one guy in his basement! Every song in this album is a banger, truly one of the best debut albums ever. Love your channel. Love your reactions. Much love from Boston ❤️
P.S
The album cover’s spaceships are really flying guitars and the Boston skyline is at the top.
Zoro mask. Boston is a one man band. The whole thing was made in Tom Scholz basement. He asked Brad Delp to sing. Hired a band to tour.
Yeah, Brad just KILLED those high notes on this one. Such beauty.
The first time i heaed this in 75..it blew me away. .still rocks my world
That's the beauty of this song...the gentle fade-in lures you in and then the screaming guitars rip the top of your head off. Though short, the guitar solo on this song is my all-time favorite. Great band, great first album (probably the best first album ever produced). I was 15 when this came out and 46 years has not dulled my love for "More Than A Feeling".
Boston is one of my all time favorite bands of all time, it does hit your soul🔥🔥🔥.....and ...yes you are handsome 😊😊
Defining song of an era. Lots of muscle cars cruising the streets with this blaring into the night back in the late 70s.
YEA!! Those 70s 'Rock Bands'!!
Soulful, Spirited, Moving music that formed my childhoods music 'Go To' list...
Brad Delp On Vocals . May he rest in peace along with Drummer Sib Hashian
Jay, the magic thing about Boston, it was one man who made this beautiful music. Then later on he put the band together to go on tour. I think he also made his own affect pedals, that's why he gets that special sound.
I love it all but "Rock and Roll Band" has always been my favorite !
So awesome to see you great kids react the SAME way we old fogies did when we heard it for the first time in 1976.
The Cars... another band from Boston... benefited from their success. They got signed and in 1978 produced another amazing debut The Cars
Brad Delp is easily one of the best rock voices in rock history..., and yes, he really had that range and could really hold a note that long!
Tom Scholz basically recorded the entire album on his own in his basement, then found musicians for a band to play it. he’s a musical genius. Hitch a Ride is easily the best song they ever did.
I love that the youngins are giving this stuff a listen.
Wait til you hear Boston's "Hitch A Ride". Sheer beauty and perfection. Same with "Foreplay/Long Time" a razor-thin close second. Epic tunes like u wouldn't believe, JR!
This is the very definition of "Classic Rock"
I have seen them LIVE twice since their lead singer Brad Delp died. They used two people, a male and female, to blend their voices to sound like Brad Delp. That's how rare a talent he was. R.I.P.
Another great 70s band! There are so many! Please do Foreplay/Longtime...it's very good!
FUN FACT: Dewayne Johnson “the Rock” is married to Boston’s original drummer’s daughter
Yes... Sib Hashian who passed recently.
No shit?! Small world 🌎
Cool! 😊
Amazing to think one man wrote every note every lyric then built a studio in his basement hired a vocalist and a drummer then made the music your hearing and all before he hit 22years old. Played classical piano from childhood started learning guitar at18 and made this before he hit 22
I was blessed enough to see them four times on their 3rd stage tour
Smokin" another great song from this album.
Tom Scholls was an engineering genius this album was made in the basement of his house, Boston’s music was next level Tom Scholls was an engineering genius this album was made in the basement of his house, Boston’s music was next level!
The great thing about this album is each song is different, yet stands on its own merits. Foreplay/Long Time is so different from Hitch a Ride, but each one is uniquely Boston. Many say the outro solo in Hitch a Ride is one of the best of all time. This album and Van Halen 1 are 2 groundbreaking debut albums.
1976, I was 13 and that year was probably the greatest year for music ever. Brad Delp was and still is the greatest voice in Rock. The highest selling debut album for 41 years until GNR "Appetite for destruction" replaced it just a few years ago
This is one of my fave songs of all time! So glad you enjoyed as much as we did/do! Foreplay/Longtime should be your next, then in no particular order Peace of Mind, Rock n Roll Band, Let Me Take You Home Tonight, Smokin', Don't Look Back, Hitch a Ride, Feelin' Satisfied, A Man I'll Never Be, Party, Amanda, Cantcha Say/Still in Love, To Be a Man...there's a few to get you started. The combination of Tom Scholz' genius & Brad Delp's voice is unmistakable & unforgettable! Although there were some years Unfortunately, Brad committed suicide in 2007. RIP Brad. Scholz was a MIT grad who recorded most of their first album in his basement studio with only Brad doing vocals on equipment he invented himself! He was remarkable! Brad also left the band a couple of times in the 90s into the 2000s.
Your reactions & comments are priceless!!!
It blew my mind in 1976 i still love that album. We never heard anything like this. Still my favorite album
It’s a perfect song. You literally cannot find one millisecond of any aspect of that that isn’t perfection.
Perfect Album Ever🤘🤘🤘🇭🇲🇭🇲🇭🇲🔥🔥🔥👍👍👍
How many here know this song by heart? I'll start: ME
🖖🏾 raising my very geeky Dungeons & Dragons, Star Trek Cosplaying hand! 😂🐰 #ENRGYZRBunny
dks had the 8 track, album, cassette, cd and now streaming. Never enough!
This is one of the few songs I could play drums to.
Southern white boy here who really likes your channel, you break down the instruments and grooves - keep up the good work.
Another classic music from the 70s
There were a lot of great of stuff made by Boston. Everything from their first album, second album was awesome but on their third album they released a song called Hollyann. My favorite song from Boston ever. Very soulful and very romantic and rocking. Do a reaction to Hollyann!
Just found your station today and your selection of MORE THAN A FEELING by a super group like Boston was a great choice. The song was a big hit reaching number 5 on the Billboard chart in 1976. Some other of their songs worth a listen to are PEACE OF MIND, FOREPLAY/LONG TIME AND DON'T LOOK BACK. Really enjoyed your comments about the song.
Rock and Roll Band!! It's great!!
This album is STILL from the future!
They have MANY more hits- anything off this album is a classic
A Man I'll Never Be off Boston's Don't Look Back album!
YES! A criminally underrated song. That one really showcases Brad Delp's amazing vocals!
This just goes to show no matter what color u are or background, music speaks to the soul
Boston was pure vocal and instrumental God given talent...kinda funny though, you're enjoying Boston for the first time and this old guy is finally hearing Run Dmc! LOL
Whoo! That is great to know!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼I’ve been loving both for decades - he ,should (and perhaps you as well) should check out “Walk this Way” -Aerosmith and Run DMC collab! Talk about HUGE back in the day! Still love it today! 🤟🏻✨
What/who are Run DMC?
@@helenespaulding7562 Rappers. Look 'em up, they're good.
Hilarious video by Run DMC...Mary - Mary Why you buggin? LOL
you should check out russian rap. miyagi and andy panda i would start with like trenchtown and go from there...they have a more musical vibe to them and even tho most of their lyrics are in russian it will get you into the flow and move on from there.
My friend in High School had just bought the brand new Boston album in 1976 and said to me, you got to check this out. He played it for me and my reaction was like WOW, OMG , this is so incredible and such an amazing sound. I never heard anything like that before. It blew me away. We had really good weed too.
My brother-in-law was a college DJ in a very small town, working his way through college at the time and received this PROMO album without any advanced press. He decided to debut it for everyone, including himself for the first time the next shift and dropped the needle on song one of side two....More Than A Feeling. WTF WAS THAT! He said. The lines lit up and he found out that night that despite being a small town, the radio station had a wide reach. He couldn't answer all of the calls reacting to this unknown band out of Boston.
Agree with everyone else, possibly the best debut album by any band, ever. Every song is 🔥. As you like to say, “Spicy as hell”
Boston. Rock n roll band
A great follow up to this would be Nirvana's "Teen Spirit" They were goofing around with the riff in this song when they came up with it. Nice reaction! Cheers!
Might as play the whole record. It’s a masterpiece! Probably the
best debut album ever made for a rock group. That chord progression
at the beginning is a common three chord riff used hundreds of times
in popular songs, country, rock, folk..none better than this! 🎸
More Boston. “A Man I’ll Never Be”
Growing up I wasn’t Boston’s biggest fan, but now that I am much older and look back, I realize this particular Boston song is awesome!
What guy doesn't have a "Marianne" somewhere...?? Boston ALWAYS brings me back to summer time.... Windows down, stereo cranked and a hottie sitting right up close to you...
Brad Delp could hit notes only Dogs could hear! Greatest little band often overlooked by many so called music "Experts"!
Epic song, Epic reaction! Amazingly talented.
Rick Beato did an episode on what makes this song great. You can hear Delp’s vocals isolated. It will blow you away how good he is. He double tracked all the vocal parts (recorded them twice) to add depth. Both tracks are so nearly identical it’s uncanny. Next I’d say Foreplay/Longtime , Peace of Mind, ir Hitch a Ride. ua-cam.com/video/ynFNt4tgBJ0/v-deo.html
Rick Beato is such a gem. What a great resource!
Thank you for the video, I'm glad you enjoyed those highs. They really hit the heart. Awesome song.
Stay safe and stay blessed. 😊❤🤘🤘
Best concert I’ve ever seen!
Rock and roll is king.
First View and Comment....wow
Boston is easily my favorite pre-90s rock band. Their talent is incredible. I seen them live, alongside Blue Oyster Cult and Kansas and it was an amazing show.
In honor of that show, I recommend.
Boston: Foreplay/ Long Time
Blue Oyster Cult: Don't Fear The Reaper
Kansas: Carry On Wayward Son
Yep. Brad Delp (lead singer) for the first time. I'm sure that was something like my reaction when I first heard Boston, but EVERYTHING about Boston's first album was perfectly mixed, and rich music. Get the album; you won't regret it.
such a powerful song
Great reaction Jah.... "Boston" was ridiculous and Brad Delp's vocals were..................................... otherworldly! RIP Mr. Delp... we miss ya down here.
Smokin', for sure. That is a jam!
I seem to recall having the same reaction 44 years ago - heard it a thousand times and it's still not enough.
You've started with Boston at exactly the right point - the first song on the first album. You could react to all the other songs on the album, in order, there isn't a single bad song in the bunch.
When that's done, you can start on their second album, Don't Look Back. I'm really a fan of production and arrangement, and in my opinion, the title song,"Don't Look Back", is a perfect record.
Do this whole album!!
Boston, "Rock and Roll Band, "Hitch a Ride", same album. Largest selling debut album of all time up to that time (1976). 20 million.
So many hits from Boston, but the one most often praised seems to be "Foreplay/Long Time" from 1976.
My first concert was Boston! It was so incredible! 💞✌
Foreplay/Longtime, Peace of Mind, and Smokin. basically you can't go wrong with a Boston song, especially off that first album
check out foreplay/long time for the musical genius
The hair on my neck just gave a salute!!!
The nostalgia! Love this song!!
Oh and btw you aren’t hard on the eyes... 😉
Thanks for pointing out that rim shot/side stick... Whatever.(. Im no drummer) . ! I never noticed that. Ive only been listening to this beloved song for 44 years! There's a lot going on. Lol. Thanks. Great reaction.
Jay Rah, that was excellent! I'm glad you like one of the classic bands from the 70's! You need to listen to this next: "Foreplay/Long Time". It's a bit of a medley and it will take you to the next level, with Boston! Do it, good sir!
It sounds sooooo good , cause that is 24 guitar tracks laid over each other. Groundbreaking stuff back then. Tom Schultz was a genius !!
Such a great song.
Another perfection, thank you.
I gotta say Jay, I dig your descriptive adjectives when you react to a video, it's out of sight man. Just so you know, I was 16 in 1976 when Boston's album came out, known as Boston, Boston. The whole album is great. And yes, that's 60 years young to you and me and I still love it. It's all about how you feel. Be good, C.
