Btw the speed of sound would be reached with a 2300kv motor on a 6s lipo. But what obviously happens there is that the motor is just getting very hot and burns the electric energy into heat because it has not enough torque to spin up to that speed.
You can turn on the rpm on your quads osd. You will notice that (on freestyle builds at least) you barely ever reach the 30000rpm mark. KV of course has a huge effect on the motor "feeling" still.
@@smartfpv3992 That's totally true I made a trust test at 1s battery on an 1103 7800kv motor and 3 inch x24 avan mini prop the trust was only 10% higher than 1104 4300kv motor with the same prop and the 1103 get hot and have lower efficiency. I have a toothpick that can cruising at 1s with 1104 4300kv motors with avan mini 3 inch props. Is not powerful but have high efficiency.
Hii and thanks for information I have 4300 kV 1104 motors and want to use them on 1s. Is it possible to use them with 4 inch props and have decent efficiency?? and decent cruising??
These motors are a little too small for 4" props and on 1S you are going nowhere. 1104 4300kv should be good on 3" biblade props and at least 2S if you want slow efficiency. 3S would be much better
@@chrisbee5481 Thank you. I really had the temptation to try. I use already 1104 3400 kv + 3inch emax avans mini 3 blade props on 2s and even 1s. On 1s the quad dont have power but can cruise and even some light flips, on 2s is powerfool enough for me. The eficiency is OK
@@chrisbee5481 Thank you I will try to see with by blades 3018. I like more to fly 2s or 1s more than 3s. Cheaper battery and more light. On the bech test I compared avans with gemfan 3016 3 blades. The eficiency is almost the same, at the trust necessary for the quad to hower and fly most of the time. On real fly the avans compared to gemfan 3016 give me the a bit less flytime on normal cruising, if fly more agressive the fly will be shorter. avabs compare with gemfan 3016 have more trust and I feel they drift less in cornering. On 2s motors become worm but not hot. On 1s the motors are cold with avans and with gemfan 3016 cant fly. The quad is a toothpich, 67 grams dry weight ( a bit to heavy) I TOLD THIS INFORMATIONS because perhaps will be usefool for someone THANK YOU AGAIN
There are plenty 2212 and 2216 motors with around 900kv in the market... But they are a pretty old design and they're never going to fly like a 2806.5... But it's possible.
DJI uses similar 2312 motors with 900kv on 4S and 9" props on their phantom series. For long range they fly damn long. Even the DJI mini 3 pro uses 1504 2800kv on 2S and 6" props. I'd say DJI overprops their motors, but it seems to work for them
@@chrisbee5481 Those were the norm a few years ago. The TBS Discovery, for example, used 2212s I believe and they flew for freaking ever! BTW, I'm about to build one, but with a similar frame, not the real deal. And I'm going to use the DJI NAZA Light! 😂
Always love your little clips👍
I would like to see a prop spin faster than the speed of sound. Just for science reasons lol
