What are you favourite lipo batteries to use? 😎
Really helpful video tom. I use r line 6s 1400mah 120c v3
R-line !
R Line for sure !
CNHL MiniStar 1500mAh 4S / Thanks for the great Content Tom! 😊👍
@@DavidStevenson-dy8kq Thanks! I use those as well, great batteries!
Thanks Tom, you have been a great help for me getting serious at cinematic fpv :)
Glad to hear this!🙌🏻
Nice video! For beginners like me, any information is valuable, no matter how many times I have read about it or watched it in other videos. And there are always so many questions about batteries. Hvala! :)
Hvala za ogled Marko! :)
A great video for us beginners! Thanks for the great knowledge
Thanks for watching! :)
For someone new to FPV, this was a perfect explanation for me. Thank you for putting it together. The frustration I have is my charger is a single input only. I know I can spend a lot of money on dual channel but you showed a device you can plug in the gives you ore ports. Can I plug that into my single channel charger and charger say 3 identical batterie at the same time? ie 3S 650mAh? Also if the maH falls between two points ie 0.6 or 0.7 which do i choose, a higher or the lower number?
HEllo Tom, great video! What mah and C value will you recommend for my 6S batteries on 6inch drone if I want to make mid range cinematic video? e fly slow and i want fly time improved
tanks man.
I usually field charge my batteries from 4,15-4,35V and use them right away.
It gives you 20s of extra power and a little longer flight time,
meanwhile it doesnt degrade batteries becouse of very short time at HV.
Also like your videos
Good info! I also try to field charge as often as possible or just a few hours before flying... but a lot of times I have an early morning filmmaking project.. so I have to charge them one day before already... Najlepša hvala Matej :)
What's a good discharge C rating for a 7 inch used for chasing cars and motorcycles? I see for sale 4000mah 5s lipos with a 60C discharge rating. Is that enough? I currently fly my 7 inch to chase and some freestyle with 1550mah 100C 4s batteries. It flies pretty well this way.
Hello very nice video. Congrats. A GEPRC cinelog 35 tabled with 6S can use 4S battery? Where is the principal diference between this drone with 4S or 6S?
6S = more cells = more juice = longer flight time and more power
Tom, thanks for the video! I am new to FPV. What mah and C value will you recommend for my 4S batteries on 5inch drone if I want to make cinematic video? I am thinking between 1500mah and 1800mah to have more time to fly.
TATTU R-LINE Version 3.0 14.8V 1800mAh 120C 4S :)
Hey Guys im new to the fpv hobby and the first two batteries that have come with an rtf kit I bought two weeks ago have been screwed up. The company I bought them from has offered to buy new ones for me that I have too choose. The included ones were 4s 1100 mah 50c and Im just wondering whether it would be fine to buy 110c 4s battery 850 mah? Because they have double the c rating.
Hera if my batteries are LIHV? What would be the voltage to land the drone?
What lipo batteries can I use for mavic air 1 ?
Can you help me i can do 5v dc motor if 5 dc motor do burn or no burn
Two important things. Either remove the seal from ammo box or drill hold on top to prevent it from exploding when lipo goes off. There is a lot of gases being made when lipos set off.
Secondly the lipo bad you showed is of low quality, please check torvol lipo bag and test they made ( setting off 12 charged lipos inside )
What about weight? Bigger mah = more weight but how much weight is too much weight? I have a 5 inch freestyle quad but would also like to do more range sometimes
Ore more of a challenge but in the cli you can set up a KV cut to set your motor to the disputed KV for when your running a higher s rating on a higher kv motor as long as your ESC/s are rated for a higher s rating like 6s you should be fine 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Ore you can just deal with the insane throttle curve you'll creat and warm motors 🤘🤘🤘
What s your favorite lipo for nazgul5 v2? Now I am using lipo 6s funfly 1300...thanks
Those are great batteries, I use them as well... And I also use 6S R-line 1400mah 130C and they are the best ones from my experience
Hi, when you are on the field, how are you charging? Are you using your car battery?
I have a custom made "powerbank" so I'm doing field charghing :)
My drone don't arm kindly help,i am using 2s battery is it sufficient to arm
For my new Sector v3, I got 1300mah Tattu v3 and 1550mah Tattu v3. Haven't had a chance to test them yet as I'm waiting for my dji v2 goggles but something to take into account is the weight. 1300 is at 210g and 1550 is at 250g. I will evaluate the ratio between extra weight / extra flight time / flight characteristics with both... Choosing the right battery is really not that simple.
Let me know how it flies with those batteries :)
Great video bro :P
Hope you got some valuable info bro!
Thanks Tom...
Thanks for watching Chris!
How long the fully charged battery last unused? If u charge the battery few days before the flight would it hold the same voltage?
Usually you want to go fly asap after charging it.. Each day the voltage decreases slightly and it's not good for the batteries longevity. But sometimes if I am on a filmmaking project, batteries stay full for 24-48 hours before I fly
so its not recomended to adapt one off this to a normal camera drone that uses a eletric board in the battery inclosure and only 3 wires ( positive ,negative and the one wire for balancing the voltage ) but majority off 7.4v have 2 conectors one with normal positive and negative and one with nore three wires for balancing and charge !!! So what wires i conect to my board ???
What do you do when you don't plan on flying them in a while? Do you have to discharge them?
Yes, discharge to storage voltage 3.8 .
What is a good storage voltage for 4s and 6s?
3.8V for both
Something about the C rating, to be honest the C rating depends on the capacity, for example, a 850mah 100C means it can output 85 Amp max (ie 0.85*100), but a 1300mah 100C (ie 1.3*100) can output for 130Amp max.
Basically C rating means how much Amp you can pull without damaging the battery.
Just know that 100C is not always the best case for each lipo.
(Always check how much Amp your drone probably draws so you can choose the correct rating lipo)
Thanks for the info Carson!
Great video for beginners. Good job Tom !
Also if your charging multiple batteries (1500mah 6s - 1300 mah 6s - 1800mah 6s for example) just add the capacity of all of them (1500 + 1300 + 1800 = 4600mah) to determine the desired 1C rating (in this case 4.6A).
PS: I also burned a parallel board once, scary stuff xD
Thanks for the tip! Yeah that burn was a scary experience :D

Hi Tom what lipo battery can I use for mavic air ?
The original one from DJI
@@tomstrojnik thanks
What voltage do you run your 6s battery to
I usually land at 3.6V per cell
@@tomstrojnik nice tom I hear you knocking
@@tomstrojnik what quad are you flying most tom?

@@tomstrojnik awesome Tom bro I went with the titan for more range
, awesome quad
which ND filters do you use
Telesin and Polarpro
@@tomstrojnik thank you very much! have a great day
3 or 4C????? Deam I guess this is really high. I don't even like to charge them with 2C😂
Fr every time i charge them i feel like a grenade is about to go off.
I do not not agree with always charging at 1c If you don't need the speed, .half c will be nicer to the battery. It may take a year or so to see a difference, but it will be there. Below half c there really isn't an improvement. Also 5c is just too fast based on my knowledge. But, I'd be open to scientific arguments from anyone.
I get that rline batteries have extremely low resistance and can deal with higher rates the easiest. But think if everyone watching. Someone has a pizza battery that they've been hard on the last year now says, "oh, 5c is cool sometimes." when in their case it'll kill that pack. I just wouldn't suggest it.
For anyone confused, Gens ace are tattu. Tattu are gens ace. :)
