    I think its more like this:
    - Voltage is more like the height of the water level in the tank. The taller the water level, the bigger pressure in the bottom of the tank
    - Capacity is like the volume of the tank. You can have 2 tanks with same height (Voltage) but have different volume based on the area of the tank base.
    - C rating is how big the pipe in the bottom of the tank that determine the maximum flow of the water. BUT the actual water flow will depend on the valve (load) in the end of the pipe

    the way i look at C rating is like the red line on your engine RPM, you can put the throttle down but it might blow up if you have it pinned for too long. lol

    So your water 3 was a little incorrect. Capacity is like you said is how much is in a storage tank. The voltage is going to be kind of like the size of the water hose you're using so how much water is being carried through the different sizes of hoses that you use that's voltage. And then the intensity of the water shooting out of the hose is going to be amperage. So you can have a big hose with low amperage and the water is not going to shoot very far same thing with a smaller hose with low amperage the water is not going to shoot far either. Now going back to the big house if you have higher amperage then you have a heck of a lot of water (Volts) shooting out at a great distance with a lot of force (amps). And same thing with a smaller hose there's less water (volts) but you can still get that water to shoot at a far distance (amps or current). Current is the rate of charge flow so use the principle of Ohm's law to get your values. Look up ohms law for more info. I could go on all day so check it out. Learn more. It greatly helps you

    Capacity is amount of water in your tank
    Voltage how big the pipe is coming out of the tank to drain it.
    Current is how much you can open the valve to allow the water to flow.

    I don't know if RR read these comments or if RR have covered this already, but as part of this series RR should cover video channel selection for flying in a group. i.e the number of pilots possible at one time on which particular channel and power output. It's not as easy as every one setting to 800mW and putting 8 pilots on raceband and this is not obvious when starting FPV.

    they say tattu is one of the best, that might be so for light drones.
    i had some for my 5inch tmotor ft5 hd, they have no punch left at the end of the flight.
    1300mah tattu 200gram
    1300mah dynogy 242 gram, much bulky er.
    i found out that dynogy is much better and has almost all its punch left til the verry end.
    unlike those light thin tattu batteries, i think they are only good for light drones mabe.
    also the 6 tattu batteries wil verry easy turn to 5s

      Hattash Fpv I’m on holiday and the only 1s lipos I have are super worn and swollen and I fly them on 2s (they wouldn’t survive 1s) on mobula7 and instant sag down to 7.1v from 8.7 (I charge to hv)

    • @mattinman8285
      @mattinman8285 5 років тому

      @@HattashFpv Try replacing your stock PH2.0 connector with a solid pin PH2.0 connector. If a brand new battery is going down to 3.4 on takeoff, it's likely your pins are worn out and need replacing. Solid pin connectors won't wear out and are a good permanent fix for instant voltage sag.

    Can i use a 4s lipo on a 3s drone?

    • @TommyGFPV
      @TommyGFPV 5 років тому +1

      Short answer, probably not a great idea... Long answer.......That depends on the electronics - if the ESCs are rated for 4s or higher, that is a good sign.
      But you also need to consider how the other components are powered - if the flight controller is powered via 5v or 12v regulator, then you would be safe, but if the FC is only rated for 3s and receives full power, you will likely blow the FC. Same concept for VTX and camera.
      Next thing to consider is that the motors spin to a certain RPM depending on the voltage - applying 4s will make them spin much faster than 3s.... I have heard of people using 4s motors on 6s by adding a throttle limit, as long as all of the other electronics can support 6s.
      Finally, PID tuning and filters will likely need to be changed to fly with the same smoothness that you are used to.
      I hope this has helped to at least point out some of the concerns to look for.

    • @valeaten4347
      @valeaten4347 5 років тому

      @@TommyGFPV Thank you for the answer! So it is a better idea to built a 3s drone with 3s lipo or a 4s drone with 4s lipo. Because im a beginner i would built a 3s drone first and upgrade later the parts in order to switch to 4s. What do you think about that? I also read that you can power a 4s quad with a 3s lipo. Is that possible?

    • @TommyGFPV
      @TommyGFPV 5 років тому +1

      powering 4s quad with 3s is how I got started! Then you can upgrade batteries later, but in the meantime you just aren’t using the full power available... which is a good thing for beginners! Many may disagree and tell you to jump right in, but I found that I needed the practice and it made me better at flying until I actually needed more power. I practiced a bunch on 3s, then slowly started getting 4s packs. Then I flew my 3s first to warm up and ended the day on 4s.
      The one thing that may or may not have an impact is running a 12v regulator - 3s can dip below 12v and then this power source may become unreliable. Most receivers are 3.3 or 5V, and most cameras and VTX support either 5V or full battery power though, so it likely will not be a problem, just one thing to consider

  • @mohbeans

    I can't believe you said it. "(1:15)....they range from 3.7 at dead to 4.2 volts at full charge." Not true, at the low end they range from 3.1v to 3.2v depending on numerous factors. Fully charged they are 4.2v. Let's give Charles Coulomb some credit and demystify the C-rating. C does not mean capacity. C is the first letter of Coulomb's last name. He was a French physicist in the late 1700s and is responsible for Coulomb's Law; without it you would not have batteries.
