No! It was actually developed by an employee of an energy company who was angry that customers were being ripped off by high heating bills and went into business by himself, and developed this after multiple prototypes.

I just wanted to let everyone know that I actually purchased a very expensive digital space heater. It had a temperature setting which I really liked because I have a young autistic child in my house. In 2021, I fell in my kitchen and hit my head on the tile floor -which knocked me out and I ended up laying next to the heater. When I woke up, I thought my right arm was "asleep " but it was actually burnt to the bone. I had smoke inhalation from my body being burning, my kidneys were shutting down and I spent over a week in the burn unit where I had to have my arm amputated. I had over 12 amputations because the tissue kept spreading. My right knee was also 3rd degree burnt. Im fine now, but I really want to just warn everyone about how dangerous even the best ones are. Even though I set it to 70 degrees, the entire room heats up until it reaches the full 70 degrees, not the heater itself. Every heater can be tested even using a thermometer to see how hot it is. Please don't let anyone else get hurt.

It was clearly made with great care, viola is italian for purple, not french. I guess that's because after you turn it on it's still so cold that your lips become viola

"desk heater" is a good comparison I got a few at the advice of an acquaintance. They cannot heat a room in a climate that genuinely gets cold unless your house is super-insulated, but they take the edge off in their corner, and they help the space heaters I'm using for main heat. I really like them, but I know that they have real limitations. I got mine from Amazon. Weird that someone would want to link Elon's name with it.
TBF if it actually came from Elon it would be 5 years late and would have a software enabled full self heating heater which would maybe function in 2038.
Not true - the software license upgrade required to actually heat a room rather than melt an icecube over 24 hours will be offered at the low low price of $179.99 a month, sign up for 5 years minimum mandatory.
It's already happened. I get scam emails about both heaters and air conditioners from "Elon Musk" all the time. I have for at least a couple years now.

Another good use case for these little heaters is in your auto truck or rv. They only consume 320 Watts at maximum so a 400 watt constant power inverter will allow you to run it in your vehicle to keep warm without having to run the gasoline or diesel engine... 😊
We have a central ducted heat pump in a 160 yr old house - we have one of these tiny heaters that take the edge off our bedroom which doesn't quite get warm enough on colder nights. It couldn't heat anythkng by itself, but it's nice to have a low wattage heater for this purpose.
This reminds me of Christmas 2023... my mother in law saw facebook ads for what appeared to be a very fun toy for about $30... She thought the grandkids would all love one. I was asked about said toy, and found that it could be purchased on Aliexpress for 5$. I made the purchase for them, and it was a fun toy.
physics nerd here. temperature/money=insulation/area, a heater itself is 100% efficient. there is a way to get a little more that 100% but it takes way longer to install, costs as much as a fridge, and loses efficiency when it's cold outside.
though the cold outside part can be overcome, either via better coolents that they're coming up with that have better tolorances, or by burying them, though they're ussially only used for cooling, not heating, which is really too bad.
A heat pump (air-air) is usually 400% efficient at 7C outside temperature. Stops working below -10C or so. A 2.5kW output unit costs about $500 without installation.
@@Molon_Labe1776No, because there is no waste or losses in converting electricity to heat (the fan and control panel are technically using a bit of electricity, but it's negligible). Watts to BTU is a direct conversion.

When you started looking on Amazon for a Dreo space heater i was like, that's the one I have in my 5x8 bathroom! Oh crap, maybe I should have bought the Alpha instead. We live in a 5th wheel and I bought one of these, never seeing the Elon angle just saw one at the bait shop in the corner and the lady said it was great for extremely small spaces. So I bought one at home hardware for my wife for her corner of the slide and it works for her side and just her lol. It was on sale for $35 but with no remote.
Any electrical device that consumes 200W will generate the same amount of heat as a 200W space heater. That's why you get more bangs for the bucks by using TV, video games, computers to heat up your room.
Eh... not really 100%. They waste energy on light (other than infrared -aka "heat"- ) and vibrations (sometimes audible but mostly not) Dont get me wrong, still highly efficient but not the mythical 100%. All electrical appliances generate heat as waste... funny how a machine designed to be as inneficient as possible still "wastes" energy
The reason it works for NASA because the shuttles are very small so it's fast and easy to heat the small rooms with this device. Not everything from NASA is good for real life situations
Technology Connections did a great video about heaters a while ago. Basically, unless they are heat pumps they all produce an amount of heat that is directly proportional to the energy that is put in. Adding a fan helps to distribute the heat a bit, and you will need some things to make them safer to operate, but they're all roughly as efficient as each other. Heat pumps transfer heat from somewhere else, so they can produce more heat than the energy you put in.

I saw an advert for this on UA-cam while I was over at my friends house. It was like a 4 minute long ad, and it was the cheapest looking ad you've ever seen, but me and my mate ended up watching the whole ad because we found it so hilariously brazenly misleading! Straight out the bat they threw up the Tesla logo to try and trick you into thinking that Elon and Tesla had something to do with it, when clearly they didn't. Everything about the product just screams 'FIRE HAZARD!' to me. Imagine plugging a heater directly into your plug socket? How is the wall behind it not getting scorched black? How is you plug socket not getting melted over time? Heat doesn't get blasted in a cone in front of the heater, it surrounds the area it emits from. There's no way your plug sockets are coming away unscathed from prolonged usage of this thing! Then there's the fact that it's an American plug design. I knew just from looking at it that it would be too heavy and unstable to be supported by only two prongs, and would be prone to falling out at the slightest knock, and this video proved me right. If it was a 3-pin UK plug, it would stay in, but I still wouldn't want to hang a bloody heater directly off the plug socket! That thing is just begging to burn someones house down!
Hey Ben! Use that heater in a small bathroom! I have one and turn it on when I get in the shower so I'm not cold post-shower. Works for that. It'd be worthless in a room larger than a small bathroom though.

Just 900khz of goodness. -> 7 series 50uF -> 200mhz PNP -> 8 phase multiplier 100uF -> 1M ohm antenna resistor ground. At 50hz, short the mega ohm to the heater, might melt or explode at 550volts, but its much warmer. If you hook it to 110v, you get 550v, 9v produces 2-> 3 killovolts, but don't diodes the multiplier for gods sake.
Ground thermal exchange is the closest anyone will get to nearish $0 bills, but unfortunately these systems tend to be quite expensive to install. Well that, or if you have a large property with plenty of trees, and you're willing to do a lot of work, or if you can find free or very cheap sources of wood off property. If you have plenty of sun on your property, Solar Air heaters are a great idea. Pretty cheap and easy to install if you do it yourself. Essentially a large surface area, insulated box with an intake and exhaust vents, with a small fan that vent Solar warmed heat into your house. Unfortunately, we don't have enough consistent sun on our property to go this route.

I picked one up for 5 pound sterling at my local flea market months ago, i already knew the technology PTC element, these are efficient but they're no breakthrough in technology, I picked it up to use in my small shed to prevent freezing temps in winter.
I bought the Dreo heater last winter an let me say it a beast of a heater. I use it out in my shed. it sits on a concrete floor thats dusty . Ive cleaned once since owning it. Buy one if you need a great little heater

No real humans approve any ads on UA-cam, or other social sites. At best MAYBE if enough people complain about an existing ad, then someone will look at it, but then allow it as long as it doesn’t show babies being eaten.
For those that aren't aware, thermodynamics says, It does not matter whether you buy the cheapest electric heater on the market, or the most expensive, or just use a bunch of lightbulbs, every watt consumed by any electrical device will produce 3.412 BTU/hr. When electricity is consumed, that energy can either be converted into work or heat, and even if it's used to do work, due to entropy and the conservation of energy, even all of that energy also becomes heat. All electric heaters are 100% efficient at converting electricity into heat because all the electrical energy they consume is transformed into thermal energy. This is a fundamental property of electricity: when current flows through a resistive element (like a heating coil), the energy is entirely dissipated as heat. The key difference between electric heaters lies in how they distribute that heat within a space: Convection heaters (e.g., oil-filled radiators, fan heaters) heat the air, which then circulates around the room. These are effective for evenly warming the entire room over time. Radiant heaters (e.g., infrared heaters) heat objects and people directly by emitting infrared radiation. These are ideal for providing targeted warmth, especially in open spaces or poorly insulated rooms. Combination heaters use both convection and radiation to heat both the air and objects in the room. The point is, the efficiency of converting electricity to heat is always the same, so one electric heater can never be more efficient than another. However, you can use smart strategies to change how the heat feels because the comfort and effectiveness depend on how that heat is distributed to meet the specific needs of the space and occupants. or you can get a heat pump....

Yea. I remember that ad.. Didn't they expel him from his course because he made a product that would save people millions of dollars, every day, or something?

3:54 All you do is turn it on and...'viola.' As in the instrument. That's not how you spell the French word 'voila.' Clearly this ad was made w/ great care for an incredible product!

It was clearly made with great care, viola is italian for purple, not french. I guess that's because after you turn it on it's still so cold that your lips become viola
Viola. So the heater also turns into a stringed instrument, apparently. 😁
They spelled it viola because the whole thing is just a big fiddle.

I made the purchase for them, and it was a fun toy.
physics nerd here. temperature/money=insulation/area, a heater itself is 100% efficient. there is a way to get a little more that 100% but it takes way longer to install, costs as much as a fridge, and loses efficiency when it's cold outside.
though the cold outside part can be overcome, either via better coolents that they're coming up with that have better tolorances, or by burying them, though they're ussially only used for cooling, not heating, which is really too bad.
heat pump go brrrr
Wouldn't a heater that is more than one hundred percent efficient violate the laws of thermodynamics?
A heat pump (air-air) is usually 400% efficient at 7C outside temperature. Stops working below -10C or so. A 2.5kW output unit costs about $500 without installation.
@@Molon_Labe1776No, because there is no waste or losses in converting electricity to heat (the fan and control panel are technically using a bit of electricity, but it's negligible). Watts to BTU is a direct conversion.

When you started looking on Amazon for a Dreo space heater i was like, that's the one I have in my 5x8 bathroom! Oh crap, maybe I should have bought the Alpha instead. Then I was happy to see the Dreo heating your room up way faster than the Alpha. I run mine every morning about 5 min before I jump in the shower and it works great. Phew!
The thing about these "super efficient" heaters that really bugs me is that *every* resistive heater is 100% efficient.
Any electrical device that consumes 200W will generate the same amount of heat as a 200W space heater. That's why you get more bangs for the bucks by using TV, video games, computers to heat up your room.
Eh... not really 100%.
They waste energy on light (other than infrared -aka "heat"- ) and vibrations (sometimes audible but mostly not)
Dont get me wrong, still highly efficient but not the mythical 100%.
All electrical appliances generate heat as waste... funny how a machine designed to be as inneficient as possible still "wastes" energy
They’ll see this comment and next time the ads will say it’s 200%!
This is also why centralized heating is better. 300% efficiency.

This needs a Computer Clan colab.

You series a 555timer through diodes and 9v, because this is a free air 9v charger. Set it for self destructive 555timer, no stupid components.

The key difference between electric heaters lies in how they distribute that heat within a space:
Convection heaters (e.g., oil-filled radiators, fan heaters) heat the air, which then circulates around the room.
