The one-way on the roundabout is backwards. To avoid ths problem, when you connect a road, follow the direction you want the traffic to flow.
Was gonna say this. Your main entrance roundabout has a wrong direction on a connecting road
If you look @ your road network supplying your new Agricultural area you are missing the road to feed traffic off the highway system to the left of the area. You currently only have inbound from your city, outbound to your city, and outbound to the highway system.
The simcity 2013 music brings back so much nostalgia. It was heart warming hearing it again after many years
I got it too late and I wasn't able to play online. It always seemed so fun, especially the construction projects.
You shouldn't take away the old commercial area. That "old town" area would likely have shops and businesses on the man road.
If you want to save money, during your planning phase when expanding new areas you can use dirt roads to keep cost and maintenance to a minimum and only upgrade roads later when you do make money for these new districts. The only thing with this technique is you gotta be careful when planning larger roads like collectors and arterial since they are larger and will destroy all buildings when upgrading, but since you do play with mods, you can just toggle off collision or use anarchy to upgrade bigger roads later on.

Also, that round about at like 10:45, the one road is going the wrong way. Not sure if you catch it later in the vid, but just wanted to point that out.

Another awesome video, my friend. I don't know about anyone else but i LOVE the time lapses haha. Same with your Anno game play too. Its not that its a "hurry up and get it done" mind-state, its just that i love the time lapses haha.
Another series that seems like it will become a new favourite of mine. Just slow down the play like you did in the beginning of your Anno series - some of us are new to the game and would love to see more details, as following people or cars for a little while, or zooming in on the different styles of houses and businesses and stuff like that - rather do that for a few minutes (like the old walk-arounds in Anno) than playing on tripple speed....

With your roads, if you weren’t already aware, have a look into road hierarchy and lane mathematics. You won’t necessarily need to adjust it now but it would massively help with traffic later on when the population grows!
Heya! You should add a mod called 'City Vitals Watch', it is honestly pretty useful and will allow you to manage your city budgets better, loving the new series, been waiting on a Cities Skylines one

On the next-to-the-river arterial's left side, there's a huge forest. You could make your next industrial zone a forestry.

It's looking great. I like the idea of small pocket industrial area there and having people passes the shops while commuting to work.
Loving the series. Hope you keep it up. It might have been Kibbitz that you mentioned saying you should design cities around people. I know the current series he's got going the whole shtick is that most of it is walkable.
Also, requesting again that you switch the driving to the other/correct side of the road haha. Cars should be on the left!!!
I like that the less natural part of the city isn't just a grid but rather an angular pattern, it brings some freshness to the townscape. On the other hand, when it comes to farm fields, adding solid roads there seems counterproductive when it comes to realism, a dirt road would belong there much better, partially because farm-vehicles (tractors,etc..) are relatively well equipped for semi-offroad travel. I know that would most likely be a trade-off for speed/capacity though..
Btw I like how you put so much effort into the town looking good and you're one of the few people that do, so props to that!

There is no exit off the highway for the industrial when coming in. They have to go all the way to the roundabout and turn around
For industrial areas. If you paint a zone on top of your industry area, you can assign it the specialiazation equal to the industry area. Then for variety you can zone the spazialized industry, which by the way are also ‘free’.
new sub... 1st series/LP watching and found the 1st episode 3ish days ago... would love an episode # in the title or in the description imo... i was watching and loveing ur playstyle etc ... then ur POP went from under 1k to a magical new neighborhood and stuff already built. auto play put #1 then #2 then 8 or 9 right after was totally confusing... untill i just made my own playlist and watched n order... lol time travel doesnt work when watching good stuff i fel robbed lol .... keep up the good work loving this LP!!!!!!!!

FYI: You can use the node controller to create cul-de-sacs in your developments. So you can place houses on a cul-de-sac. Just a thought since you are creating a lot of developments with cul-de-sacs.
That industrial area is mighty close to those residentials.

1. In the new connection you added to your round about, one of the one way roads are flipped so people can’t get on the round about
2. Your industry connection there is no way for people entering the city to get to the industry without driving down to the round about so you should add another connection from the right line to industry
Your use of "fast forwards" has been appropriate so far I think. Makes the video flow alot nicer.

You should put a warehouse and set it to animal products. This will store and sell the products instead having the building to sell it which makes it inefficient and also provide other jobs.

You can use the mod ‘transfer manager’ to specifically define for buildings|warehouses if they are allowed to import\export
That intersection off the highway to the farming district needs work. If you don't mind a suggestion, take the six-lane divided highway and run a two-lane two-way road _under_ the highway at right angles, extending your existing farm road. Have one-way ramps at the corners of the cross. Off ramps have two lanes with left and right turn lanes and a stop sign at the end. On ramps have one lane leading to the highway. Your current configuration will leave a dead-end opposite the farms, but that's just an unbuilt road waiting for planning. One big advantage is you can keep the ramps close to the highway, reducing the footprint.
Only reading this now after doing the next episode, but I basically turn it into a roundabout 😂
Mainly because im at the edge of the border so I felt there wasnt a very clean way to do it otherwise.
@@WhatDarrenPlays A roundabout would require traffic to slow on the highway as it passes thru, the exit ramps let the highway speeds remain. Just a thought.

for a roundabout to not go out of shape... draw dirt roads across the middle in a + shape... after connecting all the roads you want to the roundabout just delete the roads inside the circle

I’d say to build the railway. The train would be cheaper in terms of export.

Just a few suggestions if I may. When your talking about the game maybe try and decorate because as viewers the screen looks static and boring. Unlike Anno 1800 when there's a lot of activity going on. Next is I get what your saying about cycling thru night and day but since your in the early game the city is too dark to see something. Maybe once you have more lighting you can go back to the idea of day and night cycle. Last, your income is too low yet you are building expensive roads maybe try dirt roads when you are still designing the city and upgrade once you love the layout.

As someone who drivers every day, the speed limits dont make sense to me. 40kmh anywhere apart from a school road doesnt work. 60km is the minimum, 80 too 100 for longer main roads, 120 for the highway. I dont know the game well enough, just talking real life
Depends where you live I guess. Its mph where I live so ill convert it to kmph. Where I live its 15 in residential estates. Its 30 around the residential area I live, and the closest 4 lane road to me is 80, and eventually goes to 110 in some areas.
Living in Enlgand, roads are often tighter and bendier, with lots of roundabouts everywhere.
The games default 2 lane road is 40 in game, and only thanks to mods i can customize that at all
Im guessing as well they chose a speed that made sense for the game rather than realism, considering they also normally have like 8 people living in a a house :P

While I love this playthrough, it kind of annoys me that you're using the same names from the Anno 1800 playthrough, (Crownfarms, Swords, Etc) while they are good names, it'd be refreshing to see different names for the town and the industries. Overall this is been pretty good though.
