I know you're probably told this a lot Dev, but you are by far the most positive mtg celeb around. I love that you promote good vibes for the players, and hope that you feel some of the positive attitudes that you help to create. Keep on doing what you're doing!
I love the positive vibes you spread talking about the game we love, just some good nostalgic feelings when I’m watching your videos. I think we started around the same time because we talk similarly. But thanks for the content, it’s great and you’re great, and I always am learning new ways to view cards from watching you talk about em. You rule man, love, peace, and positivity!
Stopped playing magic around 2 years ago, somehow stumbled upon this and remembered I used to be super into your deck guides! Counter/Burn was my fave, keep up the good work
Can we get a non-budget version? This deck looks pretty cool in abzan colors with the 1 cmc black enchantments pumping the knights of grace and giving them pseudo-indestructible with the return to hand effect.
DAMN just played tried this out on arena and when it hits it hits! Adanto is so strong, turn 2 adanto, turn 3 oakenform, turn 4 serra wings all the while just paying 4 life to make him indestructible and the draw from satyr really just makes this deck work im pretty impressed for a budget deck DEV!!
Cool! I was thinking about this deck today while I was out and I was thinking it needed some kind of enchantment removal to deal with ixalan's biding and lo! Reclamation Sage in the sideboard. Great job.
just been playing this deck online and after winning a match the guy was like "WTF?! your the 10th person ive played against with this deck.." youre doing good work Dev
In all seriousness you've got a brilliant mind dev. Been a long time viewer of the channel and I love your brews, from the $20 hank to the hyper competitive. Keep up the great work, much love brotha
This looks really cool, and i think there is room in the deck to add some blue to it, mainly for 3x negate (and likely 1x in the board). This will also shore up our matches against control game one, as we can keep it up to hit that mass removal. I think the landbase can also work budget: 3x Evolving Wilds, 3x Tranquil Expanse, 1x Woodland Stream, 1x Meandering River, 8x plains, 5x Forest, 2x Island (23 total). Also wonder if we can benefit from 1 or 2 of those fixing land Aura's in green (? ~ though maybe that should be a G/W Ramp Enchantment deck?) … preliminary decklist as an option, under *more* Deck may look like: - 4x Vanguard - 4x Grace - 4x Enchanter - 4x Horse Of Course (Enchanted removal, got to make up for cutting that blocker somehow) - 3x Baffling End - 3x Seal Away - 3x Ixalan's Binding - 3x Negate - 1x Squire's Devotion - 2x Dub - 3x Oakenform - 2x On Serra's Wings - 1x Prodigious Growth Let me know what you think ^^
@Donovan i can see why, but it's one mana more and only makes a creature hexproof, where negate can answer a lot more things. @Jeremy Morris, not trying to bant anything, trying to make this deck the best deck it can be … i personally hope for a good selesnya enchantment deck once the new sets come in, but until then this deck seems particularly frail vs. some decks and certain situations. Using the (budget) options available to us is not trying to force a color combo, it's trying to make the enchantment strategy a real competitive thing.
Because of what you conclude yourself, they 'will be' in standard 'until rotation'; and the recent decktechs have all had the side theme of being 'rotation proof'. Negate is in RIX which will not rotate out (one of the few sets that sticks around actually), so adding negate fits that requirement of being an option after rotation (And being budget, for this particular decktech).
Selesnya always has deece enchantment support in ravnica - so expect this deck to pick up a few tools in Guilds. (edit - haha good for you you mentioned that at 17:40!) I've been wanting to do something with the satyr druid but had trouble with it - thanks for doing this to get me started. Edit 2:i haven't yet bought a deck for post rotation but I think I will buy this from your sponsor link - thanks. Especially since I bought a playset of Sunpetal groves as soon as xln was spoiled.
Maybe this is just post for 'hey look at my vs ot deck' as i haven't even tried it out. But, the deck looks like it could use some more protection (or ways to protect against a few weaknesses. So i added some negates and a splash of blue to the mana base in a post here (if you can't find it let me know, i will copy/paste it for you. Surely you have these cards just laying around and the version may give you some more resiliency. As the deck looks like it just want's to say 'no' to something at some point in the game.
Arghore yeah I was thinking about that too - it feels especially like it needs a way to take out teferi on their turn of they play it at 5 mana. My current MTGA deck throws a vraska at it while the lands are tapped, but having a negate could do the trick too. I've also been considering splashing black to run the black knight instead of the white knight. It seems like most of the good removal post rotation will be white enchantments unless guilds brings something that replaces fatal push. With the mana fixing we expect to be in Ravnica - 3 colour decks should be viable.
Curators ward is definitely an interesting card, but besides hexproving just one creature (and maybe drawing a card) it does nothing else for the deck (as in a P/T boost to one of our creatures), a negate on the other hand, while also being 1 mana cheaper, can answer a lot more things: targeted removal for any of our otherwise hard to protect creatures, a board wipe (basically our worst enemy ~ as it goes around hexproof), but also counters to our plays that we just have to resolve, planeswalkers, artifacts.
I think this was when it was only type one and type two. Maybe it was like the 9th edition ravnica block? Not sure, but I played this low curve black white deck I threw together. The combination of hypnotic specter and dark confident taught me the concept of card advantage... I wish I could remember the deck list... It was low curve almost death and taxes ish. It was just a pile of cards I threw together but It was the first time i stumbled into some what of an archetype.
My friends just got me interested in Magic so I went online looking for a green/white deck because I liked the idea of powerful creatures augmented to become even more powerful, which is exactly what this deck is! Also, the first game I played with my friends, I was playing with a friends mono-black and played another friend's mono-white deck which hard countered me with permanents that the black deck I had simply couldn't deal with. Specifically, the white deck had a card called "drought" which apparently only worked against black but basically lost me the game lol so I'm very glad this deck has stuff to counter permanents. I actually just bought this deck, so it's going to be my first. Wish me luck!
I also just decided to scoop up two Sunpetal Groves for around $6.50 to give a bump to the deck's speed. I don't have the deck yet, but I'm looking forward to it!
I'm trying to make a slightly less budget deck to play as a main deck, since even the budget version isn't that cheap here in brazil, I wouldn't mind going a bit higher. Legion's Landing X2 and the 4X dual lands are obvious first additions, and I'd like to keep budget in check so I'd only add 2X more of an expensive card. So, if you were to add 2 more cards with no regard to budget, which would be? I'm torn between Ajani, Adversary of Tyrants, Carnage Tyrant or History of Benalia. All 3 cards would be useful in another deck and all 3 cards are more or less the same price
What do you feel about UR Wizards as a Budget and Rotation Proof deck? In particular going into Ravnica, where Izzet basically guarantees support to the archetype
I sorta think wizards has to replace Soul-Scar Mage to remain competitive. I'd really like to see a red one-drop wizard in Guilds of Ravnica, but I'll take a blue one-drop or a REALLY good two-drop in either color
Hey Dev, any updates to this from GRN? I was thinking the 2 drop GW triceratops that gets counters if it takes damage would be fun for this deck. Thanks.
I'm liking this one. Adanto Vanguard is the absolute TRUTH. Also kick that Growth to the curb in favor of Serra's Wings and you've got yourself a silverblack deck that will win games in the current meta. Maybe lose a land and get the critter count up to 21 or so and this is my kind of deck!
Yup. Landing is the literal number one thing I'd add to the deck if it weren't budget. Draws a card off enchanter for one mana, and every single card in the main and the SB are permanents so hitting ascend shouldn't be a problem
@Strictly Better MtG: Legion's Landing doesn't deal with Ascend. It's the flip enchantment that when flipped gives you a vampire whenever you tap and pay 2W.
Strictly Better MtG I'd actually like to see the non-budget variation after Selesnya support. I imagine we'd love history of benalia to an extent, if not in the main in the side for 'bodies on a card' vs control.
Hello. I LOVE your videos and i love this deck. However i want to make it as comoetative as i possibly can! Do you have any suggestions on cards that i should use or things i should switch around??
If you were trying to make this deck without the 20 dollar budget in mind, what might you do? I really want to get a start on making this deck before ravinica comes back around
Would still swap out Oakenform with Blanchwood Armor. If you're playing a 3-drop, chances are they're from a few forests, and if not, you at least benefit from it scaling 1 or 2 turns later.
Could you use Blanchwood Armor and go with more forests? Vine Mare with armor is quite a beat stick. Or what about Knightly Valor to go a bit wider? If ravnica brings back ledgewalker or some other cheap hexproof green creature that'll give this deck a boost.
Mr. Arocena and Penny Play The problem with more forests is you're either slower. Or more abandoning white. If you really want to commit you risk making half you deck unplayable until turn 5 when you finally draw a plains.
Hey, I'm just looking to get into MTG. I'm absolutely loving the videos I've seen so far. yugioh is getting a little boring (the current ban list just allowed the current meta to stay as current meta, not really hitting the major cards). I heard MTG has some kind of rotation thing that gets rid of meta and brings in new stuff and that intrigued me. would this deck be a good beginners deck? its very budget for me and I'm considering purchasing it over say a plainswalker structure deck. just thought id get your thoughts first. thanks :)
When are they gonna reprint Enchantress' s Presence in a standard legal set so it can enter Modern? I also really want to see Ancestral Mask...I miss my old Enchantress deck from 2004 Extended.
I play MTGA and my current fav deck is a White/Green based around Satyr Enchanter. I googled it to see if anyone else uses it and... it's only you man. I feel so lonely
If you were to not go rotation proof, would Sram be a good idea? I'm running a Bant list that's not too far off from this one and he's been doing me a lot of favors.
I know you're probably told this a lot Dev, but you are by far the most positive mtg celeb around. I love that you promote good vibes for the players, and hope that you feel some of the positive attitudes that you help to create. Keep on doing what you're doing!
Anthony Olimpio him an the magic historian have become my fav MTG you tubers, some of the others have gone over board on the politics
PURP's? He is definitely amusing and has some good points
Definitely one of the main reasons that I started watching him.
Loving the budget rotation proof decks my man. I recommend everyone hit up the mono black burn deck, well under $10 and fun to play.
Do you have any link?
Samuel Desjardins ua-cam.com/video/PUKNBDIyFSA/v-deo.html
I play this deck and it’s fun as hell I made some other tweaks and it’s fun as fuck

'Prodigious Growth' flavor text: "Look how cute it is now!" -Vivien Reid
I think Vivien Reid is supposed to sound like Steve Irwin sometimes...
I love it. The flavor on some of the cards are so hilarious at times. Ixalan had a decent bit of it
DAMN just played tried this out on arena and when it hits it hits! Adanto is so strong, turn 2 adanto, turn 3 oakenform, turn 4 serra wings all the while just paying 4 life to make him indestructible and the draw from satyr really just makes this deck work im pretty impressed for a budget deck DEV!!
Same! I couldn't get the same but it's so much better than my previous G/W deck
I'd play a couple copies of Danitha, Capashen Knight in the main.
Only person who keeps me into magic at all. Keep it up Dev.
Woot! Enchantress deck is back, baby. Can't wait to see with Guilds adds to it. Thanks, Dev.
Selesnya is looking better and better
Reprint Unflinching Courage ONE time...
Michael Stokes I could even see it in the next set. The name works for that set and all
It is from the Return to Ravnica block, so if there was ever a time to bring it back in a Standard-legal set, this is it.
Did any New card get printed?
I ended up with a Foil On Serra's Wings opening packs. That card is gorgeous in Foil.
Mista J yeah, the artist also did gift of orzhova. Check that one out in foil
Cool! I was thinking about this deck today while I was out and I was thinking it needed some kind of enchantment removal to deal with ixalan's biding and lo! Reclamation Sage in the sideboard. Great job.
Thanks for all the budget deck techs dev, stay awesome
Thanks for what you do too help us out Dev. Enjoy your weekend!
just been playing this deck online and after winning a match the guy was like "WTF?! your the 10th person ive played against with this deck.."
youre doing good work Dev
Dude, got this deck online last night, sooo much fun. And it was only like 5 tix. Keep it up homie ✊🏾
Love your budget decks. I got the mono black, goblin ,and blue artifact decks from tcgplayer because of you
Shout out to the fly getting camera time @12:13
In all seriousness you've got a brilliant mind dev. Been a long time viewer of the channel and I love your brews, from the $20 hank to the hyper competitive. Keep up the great work, much love brotha
Thanks for these cheap deck techs Dev! I have so much fun crafting them up on MTG Arena and stealing some games away from big meta decks
You and the other deck makers on youtube really help me out thanks
Vance's blasting cannons is so good with vizier of tumbling sands, it's honestly underrated
Fairly new to magic, but I decided to build a *budget* Modern deck around this with some inspiration from Bogles.
Would love any constructive criticism!

Arghore If you add blue, I like Curator's Ward for the extra hexproof.
Quit trying to bant this selesnya deck

Sir X/X the Horror Token became a legend with my kitchen table group!

This is now a standard deck I would probably try out! So glad Novice Knight is on this decklist.

...and I bought one of those Nissa, vital force cards you mentioned... ya know... cause I could
Also, Holy Moly, Privileged Position is a thing that exists! Thank's for reminding me to take a look at the Selesnya card list!
So far I've put at least $45 into this deck lol now I certainly see why people say Magic is expensive
I'm trying to make a slightly less budget deck to play as a main deck, since even the budget version isn't that cheap here in brazil, I wouldn't mind going a bit higher.

When I was a kid I built a deck with enchantress using rabid wombat. I remember having wombats with 10 enchant creatures on it, lol.
Hey Dev, any updates to this from GRN? I was thinking the 2 drop GW triceratops that gets counters if it takes damage would be fun for this deck. Thanks.

Literally built it while watching the video
do you have the list of the old enchantress deck you spoke about at the beggining of the video
if you do that will be great
Looks cool. Thanks for all you do!
Wait? You don't make decks based on the Art? … flavor fail is one thing, but a lack of Artistic Synergy seems like the end all of all things :(
Doing Awesome work! do you think they're are any other good upgrade for now other than land?
This looks like such a fun deck, and I'm only missing about $5 of pieces, definitely want to try it out!
Seems good, wonder if Legion's landing has a place here though (perhaps not budget enough)
Kai Swaby Dev was simply confused thinking of the oft forgotten Adanto the First Radiant Destiny.
What are your thoughts on Druid of Horns? Too slow?
This looks like a fun deck. Might be fun to put together on Arena. I might have a lot of these paper cards already anyways.
Hello. I LOVE your videos and i love this deck. However i want to make it as comoetative as i possibly can! Do you have any suggestions on cards that i should use or things i should switch around??
Love this deck. Big muddle finger to black. Very good deck
Any tips on what to do to this deck if you're not as stressed on the budget?
If you were trying to make this deck without the 20 dollar budget in mind, what might you do? I really want to get a start on making this deck before ravinica comes back around
The best enchantment payoff in standard is blue... Curious obsession. Blue would be cool. Nice deck btw.
Yes I realize the enchanter is gw
Would still swap out Oakenform with Blanchwood Armor. If you're playing a 3-drop, chances are they're from a few forests, and if not, you at least benefit from it scaling 1 or 2 turns later.
What are your thoughts on making it Bant for Search for Azcanta?
I built this deck and I love it. Could you tell me some things I could add to it with Guild?
Could you use Blanchwood Armor and go with more forests? Vine Mare with armor is quite a beat stick.
Or what about Knightly Valor to go a bit wider?
If ravnica brings back ledgewalker or some other cheap hexproof green creature that'll give this deck a boost.
Mr. Arocena and Penny Play boggles in the 2nd ravnica set would be amazing.
@@justinwhite2725 yeah that'd be cool. There's a lot of good auras I think so that'd be a nice archetype to push.
Working on an enchantress deck for modern. Its my favorite archtype
Love your stuff dev!
i saw a RU nexus deck wondering if youll show that one if you know it
This is awesome man keep it coming.
Great stuff! Thanks dev!
Anybody have a decklist for improving it past budget? Would greatly appreciate it.
I wish he would explain the power rankings and how he calculates them
Anthony Elwood
ua-cam.com/video/Jwv9RPZR-fA/v-deo.html
He definitely should make another video explaining them again though. Or in more detail.
Any reason you didn't run knight's pledge?
Hey Dev, do you think Isareth is a card that could have a deck built around it post rotation?
Dev, at 100k are you going to show us you playing some games in paper?
No Danitha Capashen in the main?
Can u make an after rotation version of this deck
Always loved the Encantress. Also liked our pal Rabid Wombat.
ahhhhhhhh I should've mentioned Wombat! Can't believe I forgot it
Can we explore a non budget version of this deck?
Standard Boggles ?
When are they gonna reprint Enchantress' s Presence in a standard legal set so it can enter Modern? I also really want to see Ancestral Mask...I miss my old Enchantress deck from 2004 Extended.
Forgive me if I'm missing something, but how are we casting on Serras wings? Don't we need a legendary permanent first?
The only time a Planeswalker or Legendary Creature is needed is for Legendary Sorceries. On Serra's Wings is an Aura Enchantment
Wings doesn't require the creature you're enchanting to already be legendary. It makes the creature legendary as part of its effect
it makes the creature legendary
Rabid Wombat was my go to beater for an enchantment deck
Nice deck to play at home with friends.
That's the essence of Magic.
Competitive decks are not supposed to be funny.
Just an old man magic player paying respect to another old man magic player!
I would like to request you do a version of this deck that is not budget
Bring back the Hip Hop, please.
What kind of cards would this deck need to become great?
love you dev!
Oh shit it's dat boi!
also, nice haircut?
That boy Dev!
Oh yeah if this weren't rotation proof I'd be playing 3 or even 4 Srams
Notification squad! Also finally this is a sweet deck!!
Now if you could do a blue white red enchantment aura equipment deck that would be great.
How long will this deck stay in standard?
OMG I remember trying to make a deck based on the art. It was a four color RK Ferguson deck.
I don't blame you I used to love good 'ol Richard-Kane back in the day
Are you enchanting my mind? This is great!!🤙
just the best everytime
Hey Dev, am i allowed to switch Dub for Sub in this deck? I think everyone knows Sub is better than Dub
If you have an enchantment on Vinemare can someone Target the enchantment and destroy it or would it be protected because of hexproof?
They would be able to target the enchantment. Only vine mare has hexproof, and it doesn't give it to any auras on it.
Shalai seems like a beast here
Is there a competitive version of this deck?
Why not Druid of the horn
No Talons of Wildwood?
Immutable Sky it's in the sb
Ive been waiting weeks for an arena invite. Anyone have a code they'd like to share with me?
I love enchantress decks
The Green and White Cartouche and Trials are obvious picks
Shaper's Sanctuary?
how did you miss the Knight (Vine) Mare joke? Bc it certainly will be
