Bill Duke in Predator always gives me chills. The chemistry between him and Ventura was great. The movie couldn’t have been better casted. It’s always sad seeing him mourn his best friend’s death.
My Dad introduced me to the 1987 movie "Predator" years ago, and to this day, it's my favorite action movie. It's a classic. Bill Duke's performance as "Mac" was excellent. Although Billy sensed the Predator, Mac was the first soldier on Dutch's team to see the Predator, and live to tell what he saw. When Mac picked up Blain's minigun (Ol' Painless) and fired away, he shot off 200 rounds in the minigun! Nothing. Mac was right when he explained that nothing on earth could have lived. Not at that range. The Predator was not of this Earth. Thanks for sharing. Well done Mr. Duke.
Bill Duke is a big reason of what makes the Predator so intimidating in the first film. Watching his devolution from supremely confident military operator to scared and approaching mentally broken soldier really emphasized how fearsome the creature is. His performance is the emotional heart of the film, imo. The rest is all primarily action and tension. Great action and tension, absolutely. Some of the best every crafted. But Bill Duke's performance is a huge reason we really care for the characters, and why the Predator possesses such a powerful presence and impact.
So true...when men movies were real movies...nowadays they'll have a female beat up on an action star as big and muscular as Arnold which is totally bullshit...men cant be men nowadays in this soft era
My first memory of him is on a tv series with Michael J Fox set in an historic small town, playing a kind fatherly character. So Predator and Commando were a shock but he did all those characters so well.
The friendship between Mac (Bill Duke) and Blain (Jessie Ventura) in Predator is one of my favorite things of the movie. Just a cool side story in a classic 80s action movie and even though both characters seemed completely opposite of each other, somehow it worked and you believed it.
He was the SCARIEST character in Predator. The way he creeps up on the other guys with that murderous expression and that quiet voice. The only time he ever gets loud in that movie is "CONTAAAAACT!" and he mows down the area with the minigun, making the Predator run away pissing itself.

Exactly
"when glass breaks it cuts" amazing and profound words yet so simple with common sense.
Predator was ahead of its time. It’s quite impressive, even the special effects…and it came out in ‘87.
“You’re breaking glass ceilings “
Bill Duke: “yeah but when you break glass.... it cuts...just get thru that “.
I eat green berets for breakfast right now im very hungry!!!! Lol so corny but funny
Great fight scene tho....in that lil ass motel
Heiz Hummer Classic
Haha. If I’m not mistaken his name was Cook!
@@UPPERROOMENT yes!!!!!
Duke was cold as ice in Commando. "wheres Sully? open the door."
Predator was better than Commando.
I believe that both movies and Die Hard are in the same DeSouzaverse.
@@freezetasticvoyage19 I was at work 2 days ago and I brought this up to my coworkers, of course many of them are too young...lol. But I asked a question what movie was better Die Hard or Predator? I just can't seem to pick one over the other🤷🏽♂️.
Nah
They are very different type of movies so you cant really compare them. Predator is a more serious action movie as Commando is a campy fun almost an comedy type of action movie.
Love Bill Duke. Such a treasure. He can have the kindest face and then the meanest. He just lights up. Bless him.
Such wisdom. Especially about the "glass ceiling" about how it can cut you(if you survive). Loved Commando.
Predator 2 with Danny Glover was so underrated. Not as good as 1 but still dope. Predator vs Alien was good but after that the Predator and Alien movies sucked
AVP 1 and 2 were wild corny. Predators was garbage and so was the new flick. Predator 2 with the backdrop of crack era L.A. worked and that movie can stand on its own as a good flick. Predator 1 is ATG stuff.
My man Scruggs!!!
Predator 2 was great. Gritty and very 90s.
Predator 2 is a great sci-fi action flick, Highly underrated. I also loved Predators and AVP. They are a must for your movie catalog
Agreed. Underrated sequel!
I love Bill Duke in Predator and really enjoyed his cameo in Mandy recently too.
Thanks for the interview Bill.
“Anytime”
A very elegant and graceful man. And a good actor, too.
Bill Duke is one of the finest actors & directors in cinematic history . I love him to pieces ❤️
"That ain't no way for a soldier to die" "Whoever did this is gonna come back and when he does I'm gonna cut yo name into him".
This dude look like he a legend
Vision Tube , I’m sure you look like a burned up piece of super black horse shit. But who’s to judge.
He is
He is a legend
Lol🤣
@Vision Tube you a straight up bitch....racist prick
VLAD you should interview Carl Weathers next
There's a bunch on UA-cam already. Lots of talk about the making of predator.
Carl Weathers would be a cool interview.
Watch Arrested Development.
Bill Duke is one of my favorite co stars in his movies. Came out in Car Wash when he was real young.
Bill Duke is a real man and one of my favorite people ever.
DJ Vlad: Thanks for the Interview Bill Duke.
Bill Duke: (Whispers) Anytime. 🦂🗡
Arnold's worst movie beats Dwayne's best movie
Hmmm....aren't you forgetting "Last Action Hero?" LOL
@@GrnXnham true that basically like The Rocks Doom
You forgot to drop the mic🎤💯
-Dwayne's movie 'Skyscraper' was pretty good, but, that's pretty much it.
@@GrnXnham Last action hero was a good movie. Better than that skycraper movie.
I'm here to deliver my talent. All successful men of color can completely relate to that.
Any man regardless of color should have that approach. It was definitely a gem of knowledge that he dropped there and made an ignorant fuck respect his presence with a simple sentence that was so complex it should have been used when Bobby Fischer played chess
@@irishtyrant4532 I agree, it is good advice for all, but seriously - people of color get much more scrutiny and judgment. Yes, ignorant people of all races make those assumptions about all people, but those of us who are successful, (but not white), interact with more people for business (more chances to be judged) and do things at higher levels (more "do you belong here" questions) so we experience it more.
Homeboy would you care to discuss this conversation in length through email?
@@irishtyrant4532 Which part, or parts, do you disagree with?
@@Cultured_Barbarian people of color as you phrase it aren't just as guilty when it comes to scrutiny and judgement of whites? It will always be unfortunately.
When glass breaks, it cuts. Wow, what a great line. Brilliant man.
Bill Duke has such an incredible presence about him, he simply commands attention and respect.
