Nice video. I always thought Honda’s and Acura’s transmission fluid level was checked with the engine off. At least that’s what my owners manual says in my 12 Acura TSX V6 Tech.
I know in the newer Acura’s they used the 9 gear transmission so might be different. Eric the car guy said that was the method and he was an Acura tech so I follow that way lol
That’s just a lot more extra steps you do not need to do my man do a test your way my way bet you get same reading run it til hot down road so trans good and hot and just check on or off as long as it’s hot and in park it will be accurate!
My wife took my 2006 Acura TL to Jiffy Lube and was conned into "flushing" the transmission. i have no idea what they put in there and why she she agreed But, its done, the car was driven about 15/20 miles thus far, I'm taking it to Acura on Friday for a proper transmission fluid change (peace of mind), but i have to run a few errands to run before friday (nothing major maybe about 50 miles or so. Will it be fine or do i risk causing major damage to the transmission?
Question, so I have the rsx base model with automatic transmission. I change it today but I refilled the trans with 3 quarts and I added the fluid where the transmission dipstick goes
@alanchanthavisouk8557 flushing gets every bit of fluid out of your trans including the torque converter drain and fill only replaces the oil in the pan. If your drain bolt has metal shavings on it and the transmission is slipping flushing may cause more damage, if your fluid is still a good color and no shavings flushing won't hurt but personally I just drain and fill it every 50 to 100k miles depending on the condition of the oil. Preventative maintenance is always cheaper than replacing the transmission.
No flush is bad. Take your car to the dealer and tell them you want to do a Drain and Fill. not a flush! @weatherAnomalies explained the rest @@alanchanthavisouk8557
Appreciate the video, just subscribed 👍
Hello, what do you know about the filter of this transmission?😬 Is it possible to replace?
Exactly what I needed, thanks! Just subscribed!
Thanks for the sub!
Does a rsx automatic transmission have the same plug to drain the transmission oil?
yes

NO!! Honda transmission's you check hot and OFF.
thanks bruh
What’s the reason the brown piece of metal is wet of oil and what make always cause the leak between the transmission and engine ?
Rear main seal
Don’t forget about the filter too
I was waiting for it, but it never showed.

There should be a fill hole by your air intake on top of the transmission ... it will normally say ATF on it
whats the question? u just made a statement.
Is this safe to do?. I heard from a tech that transmission fluid exchange is not good to do .
Flush is not good. Drain and fill is fine
@TabTheTech flushing and draining is the same meaning correct?

Thinking of buying a 05 TL in August/2021 is it worth it?
If it was taken care of it is. I would look up video on what to look for on a used Acura TL. Ericthecarguy has a good one on the TL as well.
Actually one more thing. The 04-06 TL had bad transmission. The 07-08 they fixed the issue so that’s one big thing to consider.
@@TabTheTech just watched the car guy's video on his $200 TL, he mentioned that the 2nd gen had the tranny problems but not the 3rd?
07-08 filter is internal. Can’t get to it without taking it apart!
Yes yo can mine is rsx and is internal too
