The reason that ashtray was in every 90s living room is because they were all stolen from restaurants. I use to work in a restauant in the 90s and the number of ashtray that would go missing boggles the mind. We would have to get a case of 50 in every couple of months.
fun 90's tip for cafes, steal a coffee mug, bring it in a backpack, get free refills for life.
lol props to the restaurants keeping the dream alive by supplying the people with ashtrays to steal instead of just stopping ordering them because they keep losing out. Makes people happy and they return to the store, Who cares if an ashtray or 8 go missing a day.
Thankfully those people all died of lung cancer.
Got loads.

When Linus is watching a movie with his wife hes probably just talking about how good the colors look and "array local dimming" while they're trying to watch Titanic
that's me, except I'm just thinking that to myself
What's crazy is how much the table lamp, couch, table, and rug all worked so well. When the guy came and Linus & his boy were sitting on the couch it looked pretty comfy.
I feel like linus has like 10 home theaters in his house at this point.
Let's count:
- Media center (living room)
- Beamer (son's room)
- Vertical tv (mounted to the attic ceiling
- Gaming rig ( nice chair + good screen, counts in my book)
- This (garage)
And I will bet 10 cents he has got some kind of smart fridge with a screen.
So about 6 place to watch stuf…
No wait, tv in his and james bedroom.

@@martinjesenicnik6078 "only" the TV... $3,500.00 +
Has a 100k camera
Exactly... Well, if anyone wants the biggest for the best price, get a cheap 100" projection screen (mine was $110 new) and a Benq W1070 (get it used, although I bought it new for $650 3 years ago) recently changed the bulb for $40 on eBay. (For sound I went with 5.1 surround, although my amp has Atmos capability) the amp was $380 and the 5.1 speakers, I got used for $115... So a total of $1265! And the response time of this projector is even better than a 55" Samsung TV (there are some UA-cam vids about that).
Can't be happier! ;)
they did say "as much of the budget as possible for the AV" and it does make sense, the only reason to use the garage is to use the big ass monitor/tv/projector stored up there.

He didn't pay for it, that's why the video was sponsored by LG.
yeah was my thought too LOL
"cheaply"
@@Y0mAmA84 Not completely true. Something has to pay for the guys in the background, too. "Given" a Video costs 10.000$, 2.000$ are needed for fixed costs (camera, lighting, workshop, power) and the TV amounts to 4.000$, there would only be 4.000$ to be shared by the staff. Let's say everyone, even Linus, gets equally paid and there are about 10 people working on that video, would mean everyone got 200$ for that video. Not that much.
And since 10.000$ is only a stupid guess...let's say to book a video costs only 6.000$.
Not saying I know their cost, though. It's only to show that sponsored does not always mean you get to keep the hardware.
What I am saying is that yeah, he probably got to keep the screen and yeah they probably still made a nice buck.
