The LMG Gaming Lounge is finally coming back together, and with the help of Epson 3LCD Cinema Projectors, Eastporters Audio Video's EluneVision Screens, and Infinite Cable's... cables, we're making the wrong choice by building an awesome projection setup for it, rather than using what would be obviously superior - a large OLED TV.

@@DeadpoolPlayz yes, this one is over 4k for the projector and over 2K for the screen. The UST was 3.5K with no screen and you can get a much better 120" UST 4K ALR screen for 1.2K. Also no ALR so coming from someone who had a projector for their main display for 15 years, I would still go with UST and ALR. I guarantee that picture gets washed out with minimal lighting. Watching TV in complete darkness is great for movies late at night but I'm not paying close to 7K to get there when I can get close to the same quality, with great ALR for 4K total and can watch it any time of the day without having to paint the walls and ceiling dark due to light reflection and blackout drapes for every window.
I really appreciate the fact that LTT has been including chapter markers in their videos lately
never thought i’d see a tilt-shift lens on a projector, but that’s actually a genius idea
They've been around for ages! My friend's 11-year old Epson Powerlite 8350 actually has both vertical _and_ horizontal lens shift. Makes setting it up a breeze! EDIT - somehow Linus skipped over the fact that the 6050UB has both as well...
I had that on my Sanyo PLV-Z2 in like 2004.
5:26 This keystone downside you're mentioning here... is unique to the increasingly common cheaper option of DIGITAL keystone. In older projectors (from over a decade ago) Optical keystone shifting used to be the normal thing, but was more expensive, because it requires moving the things around inside the projector itself, such as actually tilting the LCD pane. You still have to angle the projector to point at the center though.
when it became easy enough to just narrow the image into a trapezoid in software, they started doing the much cheaper digital keystone adjustment instead.
11:43 That lens shift is cool.

Time to call OSHA
First time I've tested a product before Linus... This drywall anchor is very good!
I've been using the 6050 with a 110" ALR screen for over a year and while the off angle viewing angles are not great, they a perfectly usable for that couch arrangement you have. The big advantage of the ALR is being able to use it during the day or with other lights on in the house. If there is a lot of light, it will wash out the screen, but with non-direct light, it is perfectly usable.
One thing to note, if you want to get rid of the long start up and situations where the screen goes black. Enable high elevation mode... it's a known fix within the 5050/6050 community to fix some of the odd behaviors. Another thing is drop the bulb brightness (don't run high power), then calibrate it. It will increase the black levels and you won't notice the difference. I suppose it will also increase the bulb life, but I've been using mine as the main TV for almost a year and don't really notice any dimming yet.

"How do you measure .8 of a foot?"
And that's why the world is metric.
not like it's hard in imperial either. .8 foot is slightly over 9 and a half inch or, since it's a minimum, just aim for 10
but it is an extra dose of stupid that a lot of engineering is done against convention by dividing things decimally, which confuses end users because all their rulers are marked with idiotic fractions like "1/8th inch" or "1/16 inch"
@@TheZALGOisCOMING I dont know the imperial rulers, but metric rulers are usually marked 1 (enter specified unit, f.E. cm) 2 (specifiied unit) and then has 9 markings in between those two at equal distance to each other to give 0,1 ; 0,2; 0,3 ; and so on
In the US I feel it's not as big of a deal because we end up having to assemble stuff in both metric and imperial all the time, especially length measurement of household goods and things like screws, bolts, etc. So we have inches rulers with a metric side, metric tools, imperial tools laying around, but if you get something marketed to the US sent to another country that doesn't use imperial, the chances of you having those tools in imperial measurement is a lot lower I imagine.
Ironically the USA is actually based on metric system but they take those standard metric weights and measurements and convert them to feet and inches, fluid ounces, pounds and ounces still lol You will take MPH from my cold dead hands though!!!!
@@TheZALGOisCOMING if you were asking 0.8 of a meter, is simply 80 cm. There, simple. You can convert, calculate etc accurately in imperial, but that doesn't Negate the fact that metric is way easier and simpler to use

I used to do this kind of thing for a living and I was impressed slightly they used the proper anchors.. less so with the 2X10. this is usually done with unistrut products and some allthread when doing a truss mount.. if they had busted that out I would have fallen out of my chair. overall I think they did a good job. the most annoying thing about projectors is you have to size them to the room FIRST then you can narrow it down to the coolest brightest best bang for your buck what have you projectors that work in that space. if its not a dedicated theater space you also need to factor in whatever window coverings need AND how to install them for zero light bleed.. automation for the screen and windows that you had someone custom make for a ton of money.. hoping the customer will realize that the prjector will not last beyond 3 years heavy use even maintained properly... present a quote and watch eyeballs pop... but its freaking magic if everything is done properly. in a residential setting this will require the use of a carpenter a drywaller a painter and usually an electrician. if you are super juiced instead of painting you get someone to upholster the walls.. and those people do not work cheap. not to mention the guy doing the design and the people he employs for the prewire.. then you have to do site surveys all the time to make SURE everything is going where its supposed to and nobody is fudging 6 inches here 3 inches there.. holy crap we are 50K in and we haven't bought any equipment yet :) and its a month behind schedule. I did like they make a big deal about the screen. its as important as the projector and more so if you are contending with other light sources. havent done one of these in ten years I am glad to see the lens-shifting projectors are more mainstream now.

One of the good thing about being Canadian. Is having a good understanding of the Imperial and metric system. So just choose whichever measurement is more convenient. Lol
We use imperial because the Americans do. It is never convenient, because it makes no god damn sense. At least metric is unified and in base ten... I still cannot make sense of much of the Imperial units, and I have no idea why Americans even tolerated units from an Empire... you'd think they would ditch that together with all the other British things due to the revolution - that's why they went to coffee over tea, and if they could ditch tea even partially then why couldn't they ditch Imperial so the rest of the world no longer has to deal with that ancient arcane outdated BS?
Can we at least ditch the Fahrenheit, guys? It makes no sense at all and is hard to convert accurately. Why does so much shit come in F and not C?!
