  • Special thanks to John Deere, who allowed Tractor Time with Tim to see where John Deere compact utility tractors are made! We toured the compact tractor factory in Augusta, Georgia. After watching this video, you'll see that Deere 1 - 4 series are made in the USA! Deere designs, manufactures the parts, assembles, tests and transports these amazing machines.

Wow! That process is amazing! Glad to hear the engine doesn’t require break in by the owner. So now I got to see where my 1025R was assembled. Thanks Tim! 😊

What is the reasoning behind using break in oil if these motors are already " broke in"

💥 This was a fun vid to watch, so great to hear about all the USA made components! Love the verse at the end as well. I bet you and Christy had a great time touring that facility. That would have been a ton of fun!

I bought a new JD 1025 R with all the bells and whistles in Sept 2019 and boy I love it. I took Tim's advice and got some after market Edge Tamers and they work great for keeping my loader bucket from tearing up my lawn when I am lifting up mulch and not this year but hopefully soon pushing snow with my baby!!!! Nothing runs Like a DEERE!!!!!

I LOVE LOVE this video! I thought that John Deere compact tractors were manufactured overseas.John Deere is a great company with great products! My family farmed for approximately 81 years. During the depression the only implement company that would give my Grandfather credit was . . . John Deere. Subsequently the only new tractors my family purchased was John Deere’s. Credit wasn’t the only reason John Deere’s were bought. . . Quality and performance were continuing reasons. One of the tractors we had was a 720. My Dad said that the 720 and a comparable Case running corn choppers would run neck and neck until there was a hill than the 720 would pull away. The 720 was a torque monster.

A John Deere facility is quite a site too see. I've worked on a few projects with John Deere professionally, and they have some of the best people working for them. They make sprayers and cotton pickers, among other things, here at Des Moines Works (Ankeny, IA). I was responsible from one of their scale systems. The system weight each wheel of the sprayers. They park the machine on the 4 X 40,000 lbs scales and we can show the exact weight on the left side, right side, front axle, and read axle LIVE and they will them spread their "wings", some over 100 feet wide! This of course changes the weights, and the crews can validate the machine is still in spec. They also have a small scale on the same system used to weigh on-road vehicles, and since the driver has to go into the scale shack, they must also be included in the vehicle weight, thus the small scale. We also have a small printer to print all sorts of information, last calibration date, next due date, time and date, PIN and SN, etc. They've got a big remote display that shows everything from the small scale shack, so the driver can stay in the sprayer and see the weight values.
Very cool system. I'm sure you'd get a kick out of seeing it. I wrote the software to run that system, and did all the physical installation and calibration, less concrete work.
Thanks for working out a video of this plant. I bet it was no small task getting permission to do such a video!

Machine shop I worked for used to make a lot of Deere parts, We were having trouble machining one of them. Everyone in the shop took a shot at it. When it was my turn I had the same problem as everyone else. I came up with a modification to the part that would fix the machining problem. We submitted the change to Deere. A week later we heard back the change was approved. It has always impressed me that the engineers at Deere listened to a lowly machinist.

That was a cool video. I love it and I want one. That would be a cool place to work to. New respect for JD American made. Like to see more of these videos. Thanks for the tour Tim.

Tim, Great video. Glad to finally kill the myth that the 1025 tractors "are not" Made in the USA. It's amazing all the jobs provide by
one line of tractor let alone all the jobs from the other lines built at that plant also.
