  • I do not encourage anyone to enter culverts, unclog anything, or enter flooded areas as it can easily become deadly without the proper training
I unclog drains for fun in my spare time (I have been trained in culvert inspections for years with private co.) and I am osha trained.
Exploring anything abandoned can be dangerous or deadly without experience. I don't encourage anyone to enter any abandoned structures. Not only is safety a concern, but often times its illegal, and when possible I seek out permission from the owner or local police. I simply go to document its history before it's gone forever and I leave things the way I find them. I only take pictures and only leave footprints. I assume all the risks and responsibility before doing this. Please don't attempt to do this on your own. There could be nails, asbestos, falling concrete, soft floors, animals, or other hazards. Thanks for watching.

I'm a 3-time visitor to the summit of Mt. Washington, twice by auto and once by Cog Railway. The first auto trip was with my dad in the early 60's as a passenger in his 1960 VW Beatle. The aircooled engine meant never having to worry about overheating! The second auto trip in the early 70's was a bit more of an adventure. Driving my future wife, my brakes faded on the trip down. The only way I was able to stop was by rolling up a short incline at a turnout on the opposite side of the road. The two German hikers we had given a ride to probably wished they hiked down instead!

Hi Post. I’ve traveled with you to walk through tunnels, culverts and even some places that were pretty claustrophobic. We’ve been hip deep in mud and beavers to clean or try to make a dent in blockages. Heck, I’ve even spent the night in a culvert with deep snow on each end. So this should have been a cinch. But because I have true fear of heights, I was really kind of glad you had only the camera pointing forward, rather than down the slopes. However, the trip back down isn’t something that I can do with you Post, especially after your phone holder broke and I thought we were taking flight. Be safe and I’ll see you on the next water adventure. The mountains, while beautiful, just aren’t for this Acrophobic. Thanks for another great video. ✌🏻🤍

Thank you for a superb video! I'm from Colorado Springs and understandably, I see many parallels to Pike's Peak. The highway on Pike's is a little hairier but I was pleasantly surprised Mt. Washington ain't a walk in the park. Weatherwise, you have us beat and I wouldn't want to test Washington in inclement weather and especially during the winter. I've not been to the top of the Peak in a few years and have yet to savor the new summit house. Thanks again!

We've been up 3 times in early 1990's, bringing friends up to the summit. We rec'd a packet with instructions to travel up the mnt. It was a gravel road, cars going down had to stop to let car going up pass safely, we had to turn our heat on to keep car from overheating and a warning NOT to put that cold mnt water on your brakes. You'd be surprised how many people did it anyway....cracked the brakes. 😅. We also got the bumper sticker in our packet. THANK YOU FOR TAKING US ALONG. It also cost us $10.00 for car and driver and either 3 or 5 (I can't 😊remember) for each passenger.

I rode up the auto road on my motorcycle with my wife back in the mid seventies. It was mostly gravel then and was a bit difficult to get traction in some spots. The sky was clear when we got to the top but a large cloud quickly enveloped the area. You could barely see more than a few feet. Had to wait awhile before it was clear enough to head back down.

New paved roads up New England's highest mountain don't show up for free, someone has to pay for them. Both the Auto Road and the Cog Railroad are for-profit private companies, they are not a municipal service paid for by New Hampshire. If you think the Auto Road is pricey, how about $100 per seat on the Cog Railway!?

People can claim goldenrod allergies but unless they in the center of a patch huffing at the flowers they're blaming the wrong plant. This is the best video you've done. I live in Hamilton Ontario but when I was a kid, my parents took us to the Wildcat Mountains and I believe we went on the gondola ride. I wonder if they still have it. We got to explore all down the Eastern states and right down to Florida - Ocean was always included. Thanks for such a great video.

Yes, they still have the gondola on Wildcat, it's how you get to the top for skiing. They run it in a limited capacity during the summer as well.

Thank you for that beautiful trip. That will be the closest I get to going up a mountain. I enjoyed that even the parts where there is straight down a foot away from you. I enjoy your videos.

I will go up and down with you as I have lost my nerve to do it by myself again! I wish you safe travels.

If you ever have to refill your radiator at those springs make sure to let the engine cool down first. I nearly ruined an engine learning that tip.

Have you thought of syncing and audio .mp3 of your voice (maybe in a shirt pocket) up with the truck camera? Then you can swap ot audio to eliminate low frequency truck noise. Or maybe, use a compressor for your voice. The road noise is quite loud on this trip. Great view, though!

Hey Post, another great video. If you're looking for a great phone holder I'd suggest looking into the QuadLock cases and mounts. I've been using one on my motorcycle for two summers now and it's the best mount I've seen, super secure and very durable. Anyways, keep up the great content!

I've never driven this road, but I have hiked the mountain seven times and did the Cog Railway once. A yearly pilgrimmage when I was in my 20s.
