I didn't realize I was holding my breath while watching this til he made it to the top & let out a big sigh of relief with a smile & a shake of my head!! Ive been a passenger up this Mt in the 80s when the road wasn't as nice & the edge seemed less overgrown... Ive also enjoyed hiking to the top of the 6288' rockpile. What Travis accomplished is truly amazing & he deserves CONGRATS for a job well done (as well as his whole team)!! I hope he took his time on the way down & enjoyed the views😁
I don't know if I could watch the whole 5+ minutes like that. Hella cool, but almost too much. Make you seasick, lol. I do think some of the best shots were the ones like that though. It actually looked like it went between street and road right when it changed from front to the back cam but would have been better if they left it at the front cam right then. Dudes crazy AF though. Love me some Travis
Honestly I felt it more from looking out the dash. You can really feel when hes pushing the car to the absolute edge of the envelope, you can see and feel the car moving around underneath him and where hes really having to drive it. The bumper cam didnt quite portray what the car was doing for me.
We took a guided auto tour up this trail today for the first time and they mentioned this video to our group. This is absolutely UNBELIEVABLE! I cannot believe you can actually navigate this roadway at these speeds.
I've driven up the mount washington auto rd several times and when u get to the top its pretty sketchy in a normal car going 10 mph nevermind this . he's insane
I was in the outside lane coming down once on a bike..that dirt section. A guy from MA on the inside lane was so scared he was screaming at me to move over( closer to the edge)....he was already part way in my lane.
@@nickcallahan7040 my sube (the irony is awesome with this video) is a 5 speed; so I always let the tranny do the work on my way down. Almost 51k on the car now, been up twice on my original pads and rotors. Between that and being a part time delivery driver it’s probably time for a brake job eh😂
He is a class act, great role model. He's truly fearless and one of the best all time drivers. It's videos like this that me proud to be a subie owner.
Freaking amazing driving skills. His visual acuity has to be off the chart. Great multitasker, able to drive, shift, and give a thumbs up all at the same time.
Lived in NH for a stint when I was in college...It's the highest point east of the rockies and has some of the worst weather in the world. It is such a beautiful mountain.
I've seen it shortened in years past due to lack of visibility. Working checkpoint 26 back in 2000 I think, John Buffum , he was race master, stopped an asked if they could race up there? I said not safely. One driver could have clear visibility and the next one about 20 feet. He shortened the run to the cow pasture.
He also fixed the loose foam above his head twice during the run! I got sweaty palms just watching TP counter-steer on a tight left turn right at the edge of a cliff... G.O.A.T!
I swear, every car that I've ever seen with the “This Car Climbed Mt Washington” sticker looked and sounded like it had been beat up by the mountain and barely survived.
As a New Hampshirite who has driven that road probably 30 times, this was amazing, terrifying, and thrilling to watch. Such great control, awesome job Travis!

Travis “The Beast from the East” Pastrana, what a legend! This guy has been changing the game consistently for the last 20 + years and is a beast behind the wheel of that Subaru!
95 MPH as he rocketed into turn one (at just 3.5 seconds into his run)…10 MPH faster than anyone else at the start! What a thrill to witness his run as well as all the other amazing teams. Fantastic day!!
The strength he has in his left arm is impressive. The lightning quick shifting shows off some elite dexterity skills as well. This was an absolute blast to watch!
Excellent run and outstanding job! I haven’t been there since Hyundai USA ended their program in the early 2000s. I miss hanging out with Paul Choiniere and team. It was always amazing how supportive everyone (even the competitors) are of the sport. This was always my favorite venue.
@@6thsense464 Having watched Dashcam footage of Pikes Peak and Mt Washington now I’d say Mt Washington would be more difficult. The road is a lot narrower and bumpier than Pikes Peak.
Awesome, totally liked that it's filmed like your riding shotgun with Travis, amazing the air he got, handled the gravel perfectly, only he could give the thumbs up at 130mph and not miss a gear shift.
This was outstanding. I was lucky to see this in person this past weekend and it was unbelievable. Congrats to Travis for beating the record again, can't wait till the next Climb to the Clouds.
I got chills at how impressive this is. As a person who lives about 60 miles away from this mountain, I can say that the auto road is already dangerous for cars moving slowly and for him to be driving 80 miles an hour up the mountain is quite freaky.
Wow...you see him turning into oversteer and hear the engine revving as he practically lifts off the ground going 90+ with death and or a guaranteed bad day on either side...damn! Respect for car and driver.
I was very impressed with his driving on the sealed section...then he got onto the unsealed gravel section...WOW!! Superb driving...amazing control. Great driver, great car.
Have to cherish a dude like Travis Pastrana, just an amazingly talented daredevil with a few screws loose but in the best way. Ive yet to see another guy like him, that just has pushed the limit in everything he's done, and has been the best at it. People like this just don't come around very often, especially today with the way most kids will play video games and sit on their phones and social media rather than ride a bike, a skateboard, whatever. Realistically we may never see another like him, so just got to appreciate it while its here.
This man is setting records and doing things only seen fro one person every 100+ years, so thankful to be apart of this. When that car got to the shop after that run, every part of that that suspension, engine, exhaust, tires, brakes, etc needed to be replaced due to the sheer amount of stress that was endured at 100% of every second in that run. Absolute insanity, love it!
Wow! He can drive! I was there yesterday! What great time!a x great day! Travis is So good to his fans!! We got to talk a cpl times.and signed stuff for everyone! GREAT JOB TO HIM AND HIS TEAM!! 🍾🗽
Course-prep, tuning, this is how it should all come together. This was magnificent and things like this are a big part of why I bought my WRX in the first place!
I was in Conway and got to meet him before he went up the mountain. I’ve met him in Berlin as well for the rally through the woods event they do up here. Amazing event and memories for a lifetime
Yes, I love Mt Washington! I rode it back in 2020 for Laconia bike week and it was the Dopest experience ever! Exhilarating, stimulating and super fun👌🔥🔥🔥
This is my first time to subscribe to a foreign car site, I'm usually a GM man but, I have to do this with Subaru, just like the gentleman said "This is a Beast"! I couldn't agree with anyone more. It's always been Subaru that's had the big horsepower and high performance.
I really liked the driving, but hated the constant changing of the camera angles, as it really ruined the watching experience for me. I wish it was just the forward-viewing angle from inside as a constant view, with a small in-picture view that could change angles every so often. Please consider doing this for future videos.
The old record, by himself, in a car that no longer exists (Sad loss from last rally season) to the new 2020 Gymkhana beast! Glad to see the new record in the new car! Way to go Travis!
Years ago I had a great opportunity to attend the Tim O'Neil Rally Course in New Hampshire. It was five days of some awesome driving and instruction from a couple of outstanding drivers. All of the roads were dirt/gravel/one-lane and we were all amazed at how fast near the end of the week we could navigate the course. I remember one tip early on was to try and read the terrain to help understand the road, approaching turns etc. Didn't make a lot of sense at first but the more we drove it did. As a single driver at these speeds you really can't wait to you see the actual turn as your setup could be late. Truly amazing watching this from the inside camera.
Only place I wanted to be yesterday. Man did they all show up..!.!.!. Cragway was so excellent. Travis still spent time with us at the bottom after 530 when our van rides forgot about the 26 last wind and sun burnt spectators. What. A. Blast.
I saw him at the Goodwood festival of speed this year. And legend has it. He still has not blinked from the day he broke this record. This man’s eyes are glued open 🤣

OMG that would be friggin hilarious!!!! we were in NH at a campground this week and a camper had the sticker on the rear bumper, and the wife asked "oh did it climb mount Washington" and I went face palm.
someone care to explain for foreigners? Google said something about cycling so the joke is it's an achievement for cyclists to go up that mountain and people are sort of making fun of the cyclists and/or the achievement by putting that sticker on their car?
@@curbmassa so it was an actual achievement for a car? and you put it on shitboxes or what? in europe we have taller mountains and the only stickers of locations I've seen are from the nurburgring, safaris like in africa and so on.
Been on this road in both a car and my feet (although sledding down it in the winter at 1:30 a.m. was the most fun).....what most people probably don't realize is this road averages around a 12% gradient, so it's pretty damn steep, not to mention the deep ruts right off the edge of the road (particularly on the lower half of the mtn). This is nuts.
Freakin' awesome! We can see from his perspective going at incredible speeds that he's literally inches from going off the road & plunging to his doom but he does this w/o breaking a sweat. I loved it.

Biggest balls award goes to Travis in every event. A living legend.
I'd love to see the front bumper cam of the full run. You really get a true sense of the speed and danger involved with that
I don't know if I could watch the whole 5+ minutes like that. Hella cool, but almost too much. Make you seasick, lol.
I do think some of the best shots were the ones like that though. It actually looked like it went between street and road right when it changed from front to the back cam but would have been better if they left it at the front cam right then. Dudes crazy AF though. Love me some Travis
@@AmikaofMan I think you mean motion sick lol 😂
Honestly I felt it more from looking out the dash. You can really feel when hes pushing the car to the absolute edge of the envelope, you can see and feel the car moving around underneath him and where hes really having to drive it. The bumper cam didnt quite portray what the car was doing for me.
We took a guided auto tour up this trail today for the first time and they mentioned this video to our group. This is absolutely UNBELIEVABLE! I cannot believe you can actually navigate this roadway at these speeds.
Nobody lives life on the edge quite like Travis does, it’s inspiring
Also Tom Cruise
@@forevernow4 fuckin right
F-1 guys also. Only 20 in the World get to race.
That fact that he's more comfortable doing back flips in a BMX motor bike than people are driving to work says alot about Pastrana.
...and Lives...
Been up twice; it’s no joke of a road. Not sure why tourists still try it 😂😂
@@metalback26 My favorite part of driving up is the smell of burning brakes from cars on the way down :D
Try to drift there
I can't imagine doing this in even a video game.. Future record attempts are gonna be deadly man.
I’m just amazed the car was even able to move carrying that man’s balls.
They drag a little on hard landings. No worries. He's used to it.
more balls than chuck norris

that is what rally driving is
Travis is such a good guy the first thing he does is give the car and his team credit.
If you want your sponsors to pay you always thank them first.
@@the6ig6adwolf With him? It doesn't matter anymore, he could be a total dick and they'll still throw their brand and money at him.
He really is a class act
He is a class act, great role model. He's truly fearless and one of the best all time drivers. It's videos like this that me proud to be a subie owner.
Freaking amazing driving skills. His visual acuity has to be off the chart. Great multitasker, able to drive, shift, and give a thumbs up all at the same time.
That road is scary at a snail’s pace; this is utterly insane.
Shout out to the passenger for keeping the camera steady and not screaming.
That's because you are a bad driver
Going up isn’t bad, I did it in my Jeep. Going down I was worried about the brakes so I used the transmission as much as possible
@@An_Enraged_Pig I was in a bad car, and I wasn’t driving.
I wish those that haven't been to Mt Washington, could appreciate the incline he was racing up.
I was actually thinking about that. I can only imagine how different video vs reality is. So gnarly.
Lived in NH for a stint when I was in college...It's the highest point east of the rockies and has some of the worst weather in the world. It is such a beautiful mountain.
My. Mitchell in North Carolina is higher but not nearly as rugged.
The camera removes all the perspective. That is one seriously gnarly climb .
That mountain is a joke dude
I was just up that Moutain yesterday! It was 50' visibility and freezing cold. I can't even fathom this guys run on that road. I have no words.
Was wondering what that was - good luck tap, opening the sunroof - funny.
Ha, I thought he was casually adjusting his sunroof! :P
The only acceptable reason to put a “This Car Climbed Mt Washington” sticker on your car
(Only people from New England will understand this)
It's silly that they give that sticker out at the bottom and not the top!
im from texas and i understand this
hahah love this comment... nh gang unite :)
I swear, every car that I've ever seen with the “This Car Climbed Mt Washington” sticker looked and sounded like it had been beat up by the mountain and barely survived.
I did it on a motorbike several years ago. I have the sticker on an old helmet. Ha. Rode up from Ohio.
that was a 100% fair flat out run and dammed really well done - top job there Travis thank you for keeping subaru right in the top spot !
“This thing is a beast” No Sir you are “The Beast” even time for a thumbs up. LEGEND
Exactly what I thought, when he said that...
As a New Hampshirite who has driven that road probably 30 times, this was amazing, terrifying, and thrilling to watch. Such great control, awesome job Travis!
Same. There’s that one spot at around the 4:00 mark that mistakes are absolutely not an option
why don’t they just pave that short stretch of dirt/gravel ?
@@SSaugaCriss I was wondering that too, first I thought they just didnt get around to paving all the way to the top but its just a random section

This was outstanding. I was lucky to see this in person this past weekend and it was unbelievable. Congrats to Travis for beating the record again, can't wait till the next Climb to the Clouds.
I was part of the volunteer radio crew for this event at station 26. Incredible driving by all of the participants. Can't wait to do it again.
He's already said his prayers. He has no fear whatsoever. And yes that car is a beast.

The level of trust you have to have in your machine and crew going at that speed on that course is insane.
And the extreme luck that no wildife got spooked and darted out/across the road in front of his vehicle!
I got chills at how impressive this is.
As a person who lives about 60 miles away from this mountain, I can say that the auto road is already dangerous for cars moving slowly and for him to be driving 80 miles an hour up the mountain is quite freaky.
Pssh man was hitting 130 lol. Mental
How about the powerslide at 5:22 near the top? I don't think he meant to do that at all!

Why was I concentrating so hard just watching this...? My god what a road, driver and machine. Congrats Travis!!!

The balls it takes to beat your own record run! Always fun watching him drive
Travis giving a thumbs up while going 120 up the final stretch 😂
He did that in 2017 too

When that car got to the shop after that run, every part of that that suspension, engine, exhaust, tires, brakes, etc needed to be replaced due to the sheer amount of stress that was endured at 100% of every second in that run. Absolute insanity, love it!

Well done Sir.

Freaking goosebumps for the legend TP, how could anyone hate on this? God when he hit the gravel your like holy shit.

The real question is did he put the “This car climbed Mt. Washington” on the ole Subaru
OMG that would be friggin hilarious!!!! we were in NH at a campground this week and a camper had the sticker on the rear bumper, and the wife asked "oh did it climb mount Washington" and I went face palm.
He did!! 🤘🏻 it was a custom made sticker that said “This Subaru climbed Mt Washington”
someone care to explain for foreigners? Google said something about cycling so the joke is it's an achievement for cyclists to go up that mountain and people are sort of making fun of the cyclists and/or the achievement by putting that sticker on their car?
@@アマ-p2l No, for decades you'd see bumper stickers that said "This car climbed Mt. Washington."
