I love this little thing. In order to have a good experience make sure you are nearby the kitchen to move ice to freezer on a regular basis. If doing other light household tasks, this is an easy procedure to remove and transfer. I AM SO GRATEFUL TO LONGER NEED MELTING ICE FROM THE GROCERY STORE (or to pay for it).
Love this! Since icemaker in our vacation home is on the fritz, I use this to generate ice then place the cubes in the 'dead icemaker' hopper and it dispenses beautifully. Beats the price of repairing the icemaker on the fridge/freezer or replacing the whole thing. Bonus; works great for camping if you have power. Kept 10 of us in ice while rv camping with all the grands on a hot weekend.
It’s important to keep the basket free when the machine lets you know the basket is full. so it will produce more ice faster. I make ice at night, when I’m home and then I place the cubes in a freezer bag, right after they’re ready. When the freezer bag is full, I place them in the freezer. And continue making more. It’s nice if you have extra room in your freezer.
I got the Amazon one. It works the same. Except I think the reason the water doesn't run out all the way is because the unit isn't strong enough to keep the cubes completely frozen between cycles, creating a continuous water supply. It's really for on demand ice, so save energy and turn it off right after you get the amount you need or keep it going for as long as you need.
I have this too. It’s taking a long time, but it’s definitely making more ice than what my refrigerator/freezer is making in 24 hours. Water Reservoir is small. Basket is small and ice keeps melting. So I’m babying this thing.
I had read that it is best to remove the made ice and put the cubes in the frig freezer to stop the ice from melting when just sitting inside the basket. Any comment on that?

Maybe I’ll bring mine over next time we have a get together to compare. I got mine on amazon 2 years ago and is one of the best purchases I’ve made. I keep mine on all the time and always have ice.
Thank you for this. I bought a clearance one from Walmart that had extra parts that because of this video I realized are for a mini fridge that whoever returned it just shoved in the box 😂
The freezer part of thecsystem needed to ramp up. Great vid. Cant wait to try mine. btw, have tried using cold water vs tap temp. Might work better. The closed water and ice system does the same thing....
I purchased this very thing and I was so excited and the very first time I tried it the ice came out extremely wet, so when I put it in the freezer, it just turned into a large block of ice
It’s gone through almost a dozen cycles now with still the same outcome unfortunately. I’m calling the 800 number to see if they have any suggestions. Otherwise I’m going to return it.
To be fair, the purpose of this unit is to make ice quickly on demand, not to use as a replacement for a freezer based ice maker. The ice is also lower temp which is useful for making mixed drinks and smoothies, but this is also why you can't freeze it, as it will just stick together as you mentioned.
I just bought this... I'm only using reverse osmosis water in it that I keep 2 gallons at a time in the fridge in glass gallon containers....then just put the ice it makes in the freezer..... I think using only filtered water it it and not nasty tap water will keep it cleaner for longer
I've been using my religiously to make ice all summer and I think the key to keeping it clean is two things. Use only filtered water (I use reverse osmosis water).. when you're done making ice, drain it... wipe with clean paper towel... Put a clip fan directing air inside to dry it for an hour or so... I shine a flashlight in mine and there's not a hint of any funk at all after all this time. I also carefully slide a butter knife under the flat piece in the back that lifts up and down when the fan is on so air can get under that to dry when the fan is on. EDIT: I noticed your ice cubes are super clear.... Most of the time I use chilled RO water when I make ice.... but a few times it hasn't been chilled.... and the bullets with the non-chilled water were super clear like yours. I was kind of shocked...When the water is super cold they are more foggy looking... but nothing like using tap water... those are REALLY cloudy looking ice cubes
From an energy saving perspective, shall we keep them in the freezer? My husband believes it should be on 24/7. lol Just want to find out the best way to use it.
Every liter of water which is about a quart, weighs one kilogram, or two pounds, so if one quart makes two pounds, 26 lbs needs needs 13 quarts or 3 gallons and a quart, but I need to know how much electricity is uses. None of the reviews seem to care about the cost of electricity. For example, a water distiller costs about $100 and 900 watts, calculated it costs about a dollar per gallon of water, after about a year or less , the machine starts having problems, so it is more economical to just buy bottled distilled water, the only clean water 💦
We have only had this machine a couple of months and it stopped make ice and since we don’t have a receipt because we received it as a gift they will not doing anything for us! Never will I buy anything made by Frigidaire! Poorly made!
Same experience here. Speaking with Frigidaire support, they informed me it is actually made by a different manufacturer and rerouted me to that company's support.
Do NOT purchase a Frigidaire countertop ice maker. They only last a few months, and Electrolux uses a warranty company that is a scam. They will not honor the 1 year warranty!
MALÍSIMA me salió la makina la tube que regresar hoy en Costco y si me regresaron el dinero solo me sirvió menos de 3 meses, nomás que en Costco ya no las tienen

Very true!
I agree I just got mines today . Haven’t set it up but love the fact that I can have a cold drink with out freezing a bottle or can.

Adding COLD water is the key to thicker bullets.
Standing in Costco now and watched this before picking one up, thank you!!
Did you buy one?

I wish it made block ice instead of bullet

@@steveturton5478 yes, there is not a cooling agent or refrigerant in the ice basket so if the ice sits there for too long, it will melt.

That would be cool. We can have a race to see who's makes ice the fastest 😀

Nice review dude. 👍
How do I run the self cleaning feature
Would you please tell us how to clean the machine?
Thanks for posting your video. I just purchased this same unit two days ago and unboxed it a few minutes ago. What did you use to clean the tank?
I just rinsed it with water. There's a drain plug on the bottom of the unit.
I bought one today like it
I just ordered one :)
Looking to buy a portable ice maker, thanks for the review
Nice tutorial. I followed all your steps but my ice maker ice.
I purchased this very thing and I was so excited and the very first time I tried it the ice came out extremely wet, so when I put it in the freezer, it just turned into a large block of ice
try letting it cycle a few times.
It’s gone through almost a dozen cycles now with still the same outcome unfortunately. I’m calling the 800 number to see if they have any suggestions. Otherwise I’m going to return it.
@sweetestlove6907 did you get it at Costco? If so, maybe exchange it for a different unit?

Thanks for the video. You look like Will Saso
How (and how well) does the self clean work?
Yes, does this model self-clean?

Nice video
Appreciate it!
What are the odds! My whirlpool with the same ice bin no longer works so I’m looking to buy this machine.
So far, no issues with this one.
Mine too
Can you make a video on how to clean it ?
I never turn my ice machine off. Maybe that's why it only lasted 6 months. Are you not supposed to keep it on 24/7?
We run ours 24/7. No issues yet.
I need to know this also

The colder the water the faster you will get ice I chill my water first
Can you store the ice inside the machine without it melting?
Probably not. It's not insulated like a freezer.
Thank you for this video. How long does it take for it to make ice from it's melted ice? If this makes sense.
The ice will last for a long time. I notice it starts to melt after 12 hours. But it's also hot where I live.
A nice item thar assist the Refrigerator ice maker trying to keep up with active families. Happy Trails 👣CJ. Stay Safe 🙏🙏🙏..
Thank you JD!! You're awesome!!
Okay, so you get 26 lbs from filling that reservoir once?? Or you have to keep filling the waterline?
26 lbs per day. not per fill up.

@@stanleymeyer9936Did you ever figure out how much electricity this uses?
Do you have to keep it on when the bucket is full of ice to prevent the ice start to melt right away?
Yes or it will just melt back into the reservoir
Mine stop working
Oh no! Hopefully you were able to return or exchange it.
Same. We got ours from costco so they'll take it back but i was really bummed cause we loved this thing.
This looks exactly like the ecozy ice maker.
I've noticed they all look very similar
I thought this was to make ice quickly on demand? It takes about 15 minutes to kick out about 8 tiny nuggets. Am I missing something?
There are no instructions on where to add the water on the manual. What the hell?
Mine keeps saying add water... it's only 6 months old and quit working
If you got it at Costco you can return it
