Just found this exact ice maker in the clearance section of Walmart here in Arizona. Our new apartment fridge doesn't have an ice feature so we got this and now we don't run to store for ice anymore. Totally hands off device for most part, love it!
I found one of these barely used at Goodwill for $12.99. I wasn't looking for an ice maker but it was a good deal and I thought it would be a nice toy. I like it!
Extremely thorough.. thanks I had my daughter a machine last year .. 2-3/bigger .. made small little ice .. it was awesome .. but lasted 3 months 😲🫤 I never could return it .. store was extremely far … I could not afford another $250 .. was hoping this would work for 1/3rd the cost 👏🏼
I purchased this ice maker and like it a lot, and use the cleaning feature. I noticed that if you look at 2:42, you will see that the inside of your water collection bin that fills up to make the ice looks like it needs a good cleaning. If it doesn't I apoligize and curious if it just naturally stains from the minerals in the water. If it does need cleaning, I'm curious on how to stop the cycle in the right spot to be able to get in there to clean it with a cloth or something. Great video thanks for posting.
I finally posted a video on how to clean this ice maker just a few day ago. To answer your question...I had to wait for that water tray to start moving and then unplug the machine. LOL. - ua-cam.com/video/G0pV0vudUfU/v-deo.html
I have an identical one and really like it. I do want to point out that the cubes are wet, so when you bag them and put it in the freezer, the cubes refreeze into a solid block. Then you'll need an ice pick to get cubes.
No mention on the drain plug to empty water when done. To prevent mold. It’s on the bottom of the unit. You can also use a microfiber towel to also soak up any unused water.
We love our's! I dislike the frosty cubes so use distilled water. I also drain and wipe out after each use and transfer all cubes to freezer as I make them. It' s the best little appliance we have!
I'm wondering about getting one of these. I get tired of not having ice but it's just me and I'm thinking it would be nice to keep out and make a glass worth at a time - maybe 2. this is actually bigger than I'd need but don't think they make little ones...
It’s a really good one, but you need to clean it once it starts to taste off, no offense to this man but his tray that hold the water while it makes ice is super moldy. Follow it’s cleaning instructions and it is good enough for me and my roommate until we both want to fill half gallon bottles with ice at the same time
Thanks for the video. I have question my doughter broke the scooper I did get new scooper from Amazon as I have the exact one. Do you know how to install it please. Thanks
I've had one a couple of months and it mildews inside and gets scummy. Im cleaning it all the time. It doesn't seem right. I'm thinking the temperature needs to be lower. I'll have to take a look at your cleaning vid. It's not the easiest thing to clean especially in the back where it makes the ice. I take the screws out and top off.
Seems you had better luck than me. I bought one of these in Summer of 2022, it just quit on me. It only lasted me two Summers, not two years. Just bought another one and it was actually bad right out of the box. Contacted Frigidaire and they told me to contact Curtis International regarding the first one that failed with very little use. Seems they're gonna make me jump through some hoops so I can get it repaired or refunded. They also don't make them easy to clean. Never again!
your making ice that isnt good for you! You need to disassemble the unit and clean it! Look in the tray thats picking up the ice!🤢 ITS FILTHY!!! I was using this machine and was getting a scratchy throat and i had to clean mine as well. every 3 months it needs it! the hose and pump need to be clean as well
Everyone said what's needed to be said... besides needing the cleaning, no ones asked what part of the country you live in... North, south, etc. Temp and weather will promote the mold, particularly the southern region.
Apparently one part white vinegar and one part water and hold the power button for a few second til the light above the small and large setting glows which puts it in self cleaning mode. And don’t forget to drain the excess from the bottom by pulling out the white plug by the front center
Most difficult part with these ice maker is cleaning. Poorly designed and assembled. Parts should have been come off for cleaning. It is nightmare to clean it every 2-3 weeks
I finally made a video on how to clean this Frigidaire Ice Maker if you want to check it out - ua-cam.com/video/G0pV0vudUfU/v-deo.html

I see A LOT of mold in that bucket that holds the water while it makesthe ice.... So im pretty sure mold and slime is behind that compartment as well.
🤮🤢

Long term reviews are awesome, definitely rare to see
Thank you for sharing this! You have saved me a lot of time - have a great DAY. 🦋 🇨🇦
Samsung refrigerator ice makers are defective- call Samsung for a free repair.
I have this and I love it!

I bought one today at Costco. It has been worth every penny so far.

Nice review. Just received ours. Bet it makes better ice than the Frigidaire ice maker in the frigidiare unit

I just got one. How do I shut it off ? When I hit the on/off button just blinks.

what do you do for cleaning or other maintenance?
Run some bleach water through it once a month or so.
Does it keep the ice warm or do u have to move it to the fridge
The ice doesn’t clump together in the bag?
They clump because they were partially melted.

Still Love Mine just not sure how to clean it as it has black dots in the ice making tray!!!!
Unscrew the bottom, then peel the metal shroud off of it, then the top comes off with 4 more screws and use a small bottle brush to clean it up!
@@tacticaldadonabudget8504 would you consider making a video on it?
@@tacticaldadonabudget8504I have the same issue but I don’t get what you’re saying.
@@jwanaali7208saw in another video that u hold the power button until all lights flash and for 39 minutes is the cleaning cycle.
What I had no idea it didn’t keep it cold
Thanks for the update!
Ps, gotta love samsung fridges :/

It's common knowledge you need to clean ice machines...
Everyone said what's needed to be said... besides needing the cleaning, no ones asked what part of the country you live in... North, south, etc. Temp and weather will promote the mold, particularly the southern region.
If the bag of frozen stored ice cubes is slammed against the countertop ; the cubes will probably separate moderately well.
For sure!
When the ice melts and the ice recycles itself, does it taste funny after a while?
I've had this ice maker for about a year and a half now and have never noticed any funny taste...
Why would you leave it in there to melt? Just asking for trouble!
Is there a fluid to clean it?

@@jwanaali7208 the manual doesn’t really say vinegar though

Bro you need to clean that thing, that’s disgusting. Read the manual.
The end of this is so ironic. I'm literally watching this review because our Samsung ice maker has died it's last death!
Use kangen water you will see the difference
