Thanks for the video. It helped me with this repair.
Be careful around the crankcase vent tube that connects to the oil filler neck, I cracked one while disconnecting the hoses.
Thank you for finding the video helpful. And yes, those hoses are very brittle.
Great video. 👍
Thank you
Hello can you give me advice! My ac only cooling don’t won’t to blow hot? They tell me to change termostat but I’m not shure that after change it it will work
The thermostat plays a big role in making sure heat gets into the cabin. First, I hope the person who told you to change it did a diagnosis and established that the thermostat is going bad. But to be on a safe side, I would encourage you to seek for a second opinion before you do the replacement. And let me know how it goes.
Stupid French engine…. Nothing is user friendly
Complicated …. Why couldn’t they use toyota engine?
😁😁😁 beats me.
Can the oil filter housing be removed since the intake manifold is out?
Yes it can.
How did you remove the Crankase breather sensor pipe out of the turbo intake pipe so easily?
Lol, it's always really hard the first time. I had removed it previously, so it is easy the second time.
Thank you for pointing me in the right direction sir.
Thank you too for taking your time to watch the video and leaving a comment
Great video! You’ve helped me a lot👊🏻
Thank you for your kind feedback. Keep tuned in for more cool videos like this :)
I replaced my thermostat on recommendation from my MB dealership as they said its old and faulty (my heat wasn't heating up properly or was taking too long) so i replaced it and its the same problem. So i dunno whats happening.
Yes, sometimes thermostat can cause poor heating conditions in a car. That out of your way, I would suggest you have a look at your heater valve. That is the guy responsible for heating affairs in your car. Have it checked out.
@@all-about-cars-basics during my service when they checked all issues with my car they made no recommendation to check out or swap the heater valve. Only the thermostat. Ill take a look, thanks for the reply.
Airbox can come out as complete assembly AND together with snorkle hose! 3:24 is torx 10 not 12.. otherwise great video guided me well through the job...and yeah, pull out the dipstick to avoid breaking the head ring;)
Lol the dipstick, Well observed. Thank you for the observation. Yes it's E-torx 10 not 12.
Thank you for posting. Although i need to replace the oil filter housing your comprehensive video has shown me how to approach it. Thinking about replacing the thermostat housing while im at it. I do have a question regarding torquing the intake upon installation , do you have to torque it?
Thank you too. Dang! you have a lot of work ahead of you. But it will be easier with the videos. The torque specification is about 14Nm, which converts to about 10.3-4 ft/lbs
Hello, great video on how to remove the intake, how did you disconnect the heat protected line from the vent valve ?
I ended up messing mine. But I explained in the video that you disconnect it from the intake using the rubber housing at 13:32 - 13:54 also another way is remove it from the connector at the valve vent.
Now that you mentioned it, I will be making another video on the same soon. How to remove the heat protected line (Vacuum hose) from the intake.
Thanks, i have to replace the vent valve
(the one connected to the intake) it is almost the same procedure with the Intake removeal.
@@rookworst73 I am not sure if it's the same procedure.
bro you rock, thank you
You welcome. I appreciate the complement alot. Keep tuned in for more cool videos like this one.
Do you have to drain the coolant before removing the thermostat?
It is not mandatory. You can just spill a small amount from the thermostat rather than draining and ending up buying alot more.
I just replaced my C300 2017 thermostat, but didn’t change the manifold gasket. The car won’t start and I have two error codes. P0193 and P0108 along with a few throttle valve codes. Any idea what could have I missed?
I think you did not connect back the wiring harness to the right places or either some are missing, not connected back. Check on your wiring harness. On the manifold gasket. If the old one is still good, you may not need to replace with a new one unless its worn out completely. I hope that solves your problem.
Check on the fuel rail line connector if you had put it back
I just replaced the manifold gaskets today. Same issue. Which one is the fuel line connector? Did we remove it in this process? Could you point me to it? It is one on the manifold?
@@DIYMan-e6c I am glad that you had it fixed. Great work. 👍👍
Great video, need to this, but it’s a little daunting with all those hoses and connectors
Thank you for the compliment. Yes it looks alot but if you take your time it will surprise you.
Hey great job I got 2017 gla 250 can you tell me we're is coolant sensor 1!! Thanks
The coolant sensor is located under the inlet manifold port, behind a rubber cooling hose.
The inlet manifold has to be removed and you can only see it with a mirror. It is held in place by 8mm bolt. Its towards the transmission direction of the intake manifold.
Great video, how many hours for this job?
2 hours, give or take. But it will depend entirely on your pace.
Thanks for the video. It helped a lot.
🙏 Appreciate that a lot.
How did you get the breather hose to come off easily ?
Use a flat philips to get it off if it is stuck
Is it the same for w246?
Yes, they are the same. M270 Engine
How many mile did the car have?
It was around 130K miles.
My bro missed filming the thermostat removal so he uploaded the assembling video reversed😂. Anyway good job my friend
Thank you so much. 😃😃
I replace my thermostat and put coolant now it over heats again fan kicks in most pipes are hot but I got no heat inside and it overheats
Oh no, that is very unfortunate Kevin. Let's see if we can figure out what might be causing this.
First, it's great that you replaced the thermostat and added coolant. It's possible that there could be a few other things causing the problem. Here are a few suggestions to check:
-Check your radiator and make sure it's not clogged or blocked. If it's dirty or obstructed, it can prevent proper cooling and cause overheating.
-Verify that the water pump is working correctly. The water pump is responsible for circulating the coolant throughout the engine, and if it's not functioning properly, it can lead to overheating.
If you've checked these things and are still experiencing overheating issues, it might be helpful to take your car for computer diagnosis at Mercedes professional Auto Shop near you. They will have the necessary expertise and equipment to pinpoint the exact cause of the overheating and lack of heat inside your car.
Let me know how it goes and if there's anything else I can assist you with.
My cla temperature change to 85degrees I change thermostat still same problem bro. help me
