- This is how I replaced and refilled the transmission oil, filter, and gasket on a cla250, please enjoy and subscribe. Got the parts from Amazon as a kit with motul tranny dual clutch oil along with gasket and filter. The tranny cooler filter is optional. God bless!

Great job. My MB dealer wants over $1200 to do it. FCP sells the complete kit for around $200\
Helpful video, question, shouldn't flush process circulate new fluid through to take out old oil from other parts of the transmission? I have water in the gearbox and not sure if this will be enough
I will do that job again. I could not get big filter out becos of that hose. I could not take down that hose. I tried, even I was thinking to take off front bumper))) now I know that hose is removable
Just do the same i did it on the video expand it or insert a flat head screw driver to expand the retainer , happy fixing
Seen this several places and at 50K miles I would only drain, maybe run the engine a bit to get as much fluid out, and change the external filter. Then change the external filter and refill and be done, the 2nd filter is difficult and would wait for over 100K to go there.

Thank you for this video very helpful!!! I have a question, my transmission fluid change isnt due yet but I still think it would be good to replace the fluid. Do you think it would be okay to change just the fluid and not the gaskets and filter I only have 17,000 miles just old oil! Thanks
Thank you! I have changed transmission fluids before the interval nothing wrong with that, just extra love for your car. Even tho it is not due yet on miles, but also driving conditions can play a factor.
The dealer told me to get new transmission pan screws. Those are one-time use(t30). Did you put the same back ?
Yes, my apologies my kit came with new bolts.

Hi Luis, I removed the oil at cold temp or room temp, and I measured what came out.

Ohhh, good question if there is a leak at full drain with both filter change the actual capacity I think for the cla250 is 5.55qts or 5.5L Anyone correct me on this if I'm wrong.
@@luisfernandogalicia7654 there is a special dipstick with little numbers on it you hook a proper scan tool run the car through the procedure and it will tell you what level you need to have your fluid at according to the numbers on the dip stick the car itself will calculate depending on oil temperature! I usually add like 4.5 do the first check then bring it to level then do another check

When you drain at room temperature measure what comes out and just put back the same amount.
Dear master! My manual says that need 6,21 L of fluid to fill gearbox. But actually only 5 liters came out. All other guys says that need enough 5 smth plus liters. My question: how many fluid you filled? And : Why manual says about 6,21 liters? And where is one liter left? Thank you
What i did was, measure what came out and put in same amount, lil tad bit more, so far car shifts good till today like brand new again.

Remove the bumper, remove the radiators, drain the air conditioner gas, remove the turbo, remove the v-belt, remove the air conditioner compressor, it only changes like this.

1) Would you trust any mechanic do this on your car?
2) How often do you need to do it on a Mercedes CLA?
Hi, 1. To a certain degree i would if you have a good reputation.
2. Just to flush i would do it to my car every 30k if i want to keep the car that long?
Also, depending how you used your car traffic etc.
How to take out and move to radiator the tough hose ??? The filter don't come out if not do that. You did not show us. Please
The filter came out without removing the hoses, i also pinned the small filter on the comment section. I used small socket extensions to remove the filter housing, but the hose is on 05:33.

Je l'ai fait à température ambiante, et à la même température que la nouvelle huile, j'ai mis ce qui est sorti et je l'ai mesuré.

Hi mwk! I changed it at 70k, someone correct me on this the interval might be at 30k? At 70k ran like crap, After when it was changed it felt better.
@@car-lo omg it's so scary I changed mine at the dealership at 60k I have a cla 180 amg sport petrol 1.6 2015. I wonder if it had metal shavings. I am also surprised mercedes say the fluid is lifetime which is very silly.
Yes sir, this amg package cla had a lot of metal shavings and the oil was black and both filters are clogged.

How many miles did the car have when you changed the trans oil?
Around 80k, it was way past due...

Not yet still strong, just clutch now needs replacing soon. I'll replace clutch once I find time.
Can u do drain and fill only?
I was going to do that route and just replace the smaller filter on top. But I felt the need to see the bigger filter condition.
Does this work for a CLA 250 2021?
Only if u have the tranny oil filler tube like the early years. Haven't seen how the later years looks like.
This is 4matic? Where i can find any info on changeing the oil and filter on manual transmission?
Hi , not sure about MANUAL, but if you look down on the MANUAL transmission side you will see a fill hole and a drain hole nuts, closer to the ground is your drain upper one is fill hole, open fill hole first then the drain nut after, safer that way. U might need 1.8q or l, but measure what comes out and just fill it back with same amount.
Any issues? Did a notification on the dash come on telling you not to put it in gear and take it to the dealer?
Hi, no issues at all... Car still runs and smooth shifting.
mine did this same thing i filled it with transmission fluid and it ran perfect, just do a fluid flush and change

No, never had any issues prior to changing the oil. It was just routine maintenance.

I have also a 2014 Mercedes cla 250…. Was just confused on how much to put in… is it 6 or 7 quarts ?…. I got my car at 100k miles I’ve added 20k and I’m planing to changin it now. Would you think it would slip ? Since I don’t think it ever got changed
Hi Brayan I had 7 but u need 6, i drained it at cold, and whatever came out measured it and put back same amount, As long as you dont see leaks before the drain. When i changed filters and oil car shifts so much better.
How long did you do this job?...3hours? Two?
With my oil spill 😬 took less than two hours including the clean up.
What do you torque the 14 mm drain bolt to?
Might be around 22 foot lbs.

Hi jd, I only serviced it for oil and filter replacement, as long as you don't have tranny light service or error code. Drained and replaced same amount of oil at cold room temp.
Car is happier now and shift much smoother.
How long did you need time for doing this job?
Less than 30 mins?

How long this job take you? Looks like taking the cover off and on is the hardest part
Hi Ric, took few hours including the clean up and putting things away, prepare extensions and swivel to reach two sides middle bolts. Once they are off along with intercooler hose, it just comes off easy.

@@car-lo by any chance do you know what the part # or the name of the part of the skid plate/splash guard is? Mines broke off
Would be better explain what u need to do and why before start doing it.... So confusing....
