In the interview Alan Papier had with Ivan, (should be seen by all Angelina fans, also the interview with Egil, her guitarist in Norway), he tell about these songs. They met at her house, played and talked about new songs Angelina had discovered. Later they made videos of a couple of songs. Ivan just got a little time to learn those songs who were new to him, and Angelina told him to just follow her through the singing. Ofte just one take. Ivan told that if there were more takes, it would be because he didtn't remember the song correct. Really great interviews. Watch them, you will not regret it.😊

It’s had for me to imagine how anyone could sing this better than Angelina’s version. I’ve felt for years that she is the best interpreter of lyrics I’ve ever heard because Angelina doesn’t perform in any traditional sense-she lives the lyrics with her concentration, her hands, and the emotion in her voice. She conveys melancholy genuinely and beautifully at the same time. I think lyricists must love when Angelina chooses their songs because no one delivers the message of the lyrics like Angelina does-whether it’s the first time or the fiftieth time you hear the same song.
I watched an interview with Ivan Mendoza he said he liked working with her and was asked to do so after being introduced by a friend. They’d say come round they’d hang out and Angelina would say I think I’ll sing these songs he’d say ok give me a moment to practice she’d say that’ll do now camera and action she’d stop and say play slower, plucking not strumming and follow my lead. I'm addicted to AJ since she won the Norwegian contest, she puts so much emotion in her vibrato, changing chest and head voice, pronunction and melody always on point ! Well, I truely love Blues and R&B, hosted music on radio, was singing in a choir ... I was blown away from her version of "I put a spell on you" from Screamin' Jay, she made this epic song her own masterpiece - the members of that Jazz Combo called her "The Boss". Tragedy and Beauty in music, like from Billy Holliday, that's her topic and now she's writing her own amazing music. I have another recommendation, it's a unique partly a-capella style masterpiece of a new genre, with quotes to independent folk and R&B and chanson, but also far beyond ... it is " Lungs" from Grace VanderWaal.

As you can see by other comments, these are spontaneous recordings with Ivan, no frills, no effects just pure vocals. You mentioned auto tune crap that a lot of singers need to sound this good, here is my take on that, Angelina IS auto tune. Perfection is a very subjective placement. We are all so different in our likes and dislikes... but in this instance... you are correct. :) "I declare myself in love." Yes. As I have been since I heard her first cover... Bohemian Rhapsody. You are the first I've seen to mention how she uses her hands. She is a very beautiful girl, very sweet expression, very real facial expressions... but the way she uses her hands is also a very special visual. Very natural to her. And adds to the overall experience. One last note I'd like to make; That second to last "Stay" she sings at the end... how she moves her high notes to that heavy low... freaking incredible. It is an important skill for professional performers to be able to not be flummoxed by a mistake and continue on regardless because that's what you have to do in a live performance. A lot of people stop at a mistake and start again, over and over. Angelina appears to have been borne with all of the attributes of a professional performer. A true prodigy.
I knew that you would like this one. I have listened to it hundreds of times. I try to imagine how it would feel if I was sitting where Ivan was - you can see how he is very attentive at the beginning, then how he relaxes into the flow, then how he appears to be floating off into another world, then the intensity of his expression when he feels the emotion of the song that Angelina releases. Ivan was such a lucky man, I'm sure that he will forever treasure those times. There are so many songs for you to experience, I hope to be able to enjoy many, many more of your wonderful reactions!

CECI, l couldn't wait for you to react to this song. I tear up at many of her performances but this one made me cry. She is such a gift for me and the world. I am not an expert or anything, but it seems to me this performance is a master class in how to use vibrato. She uses it in so many different ways here, and it always fits so perfectly. Stay is one of my all time Angelina favorites.

This young beautiful woman will become the brightest star that everyone else will be compared to. Today they say about Angelina, she is the "new" Amy, the "new" Ella, the "new" Billy, the "new" Elvis, the "new" Frank. They do not understand, it is ANGELINA. She is not any "new" of anybody - she is the greatest that will ever be. Because she sings and convey the meaning of the songs in a way like nobody else. It is as I have listened to the lyrics for the first time, when she sings them. Eventhough I have heard the original for a hundred times, but then I only hear the music, the beat and some words. Hi Ceci (love watching your reactions!!) - So I watched the first episode of AGT last night (2021 season). One of the acts was a young singer (a 10 year old young man). The kid was amazingly good. Big vocals. Very animated. Really good. But his performance only reminded me of HOW MUCH BETTER Angelina was at 10 years old than ANYBODY else out there! I don't mean to take anything away from the young man on AGT. He was really good. He will go far. But honestly, Angelina is on such a different level. I was entertained and impressed with the young singer on AGT. But when Angelina sings, time stops. My heart stops. I can't breathe. I don't need to breath. (Like you I'm captured, hypnotized.) She pulls me in with the first note she utters and I find myself in a place inhabited only by her voice, and that precious, sweet face. And there I stay until that sad moment when she stops singing. And I know the same thing happens to SO many others. WHO ELSE can do that?? WHO?? No one. No one else can.
I have a confession!😊 First I LOVE the way you operate your reaction and breakdown's, second I am biased a LOT. Most of the videos I watch are Angelina because I have gotten to where so many other artist use mechanical tricks and popular songs either music riffs, beats or lyrics to enhance themselves but I am left with the feeling that their efforts are just to get paid. While they may have talent and be very good i am left wanting.. I know Angelina is singing other's songs but she approaches doing so in a dramatically different manner. She stays true to the original artists intent but I also feel she works SO hard to reach her audience so they feel what she feels when she listens to this music. Angelina shares emotion and feeling. I swear she puts her hand out and sais Join me in my walk though love, sorrow, loss, gain, or feel the joy I feel.. come walk with me.. That is why I like Angelina. It truly does not matter what song who sang it who wrote it with Angelina you are going on a trip and I have loved each one. Her fans are called angels but I honestly believe God placed an Angel here for us in these crazy times and we call her Angelina Jordan... it does not escape me.. look at her name!
Ivan Mendez is the guitarist. He was select by Angelina's team to accompany Angelina in this at home video. In a recent interview Ivan said he never heard Angelina sing before and did not know what to expect. The expressions on his face are genuine as this is the first time he is listening to Angelina sing. Ivan also noted he would lose concentration and make mistakes because he was mesmerized by her voice. He continued to say he knew he was in the presence of the next Super Star.

Ivan is drinking to golden vocals. How many times while rehearsing this might he have just lost it, gone to listen mode, forgot about playing? The hypnotic effect is from your ears going to maximum gain. The low volume entry to the song brings gain to 6. Then 7, 8, 9, 10. We are allow our ears to be owned by the Angelina effect.

You are the first I've seen to mention how she uses her hands. She is a very beautiful girl, very sweet expression, very real facial expressions... but the way she uses her hands is also a very special visual. Very natural to her. And adds to the overall experience.
One last note I'd like to make; That second to last "Stay" she sings at the end... how she moves her high notes to that heavy low... freaking incredible. Heart wrenching.

It is an important skill for professional performers to be able to not be flummoxed by a mistake and continue on regardless because that's what you have to do in a live performance. A lot of people stop at a mistake and start again, over and over.
Angelina appears to have been borne with all of the attributes of a professional performer. A true prodigy.

I knew that you would like this one. I have listened to it hundreds of times. I try to imagine how it would feel if I was sitting where Ivan was - you can see how he is very attentive at the beginning, then how he relaxes into the flow, then how he appears to be floating off into another world, then the intensity of his expression when he feels the emotion of the song that Angelina releases. Ivan was such a lucky man, I'm sure that he will forever treasure those times. There are so many songs for you to experience, I hope to be able to enjoy many, many more of your wonderful reactions!

CECI, l couldn't wait for you to react to this song. I tear up at many of her performances but this one made me cry. She is such a gift for me and the world. She sings with so much passion that it is felt by the listener, almost like she singing to each of us alone. Her hand gestures are fascinating and telling, she's more than singing, she's telling you a story, she wants you to stay. WOW! Thanks again CECI. When you get the chance, you must react to Nothing Breaks Like a Heart, and see this girl's versatility. It's a song with a completely different tempo than what she usually does, and flat out nails it.
I am not an expert or anything, but it seems to me this performance is a master class in how to use vibrato. She uses it in so many different ways here, and it always fits so perfectly. Stay is one of my all time Angelina favorites.

What's not to like about any of Angelina works? But this one stands out? Ceci, your reaction to Stay is amazing. It's been one of my favorites for a while now. The way Angelina delivers Stay keeps me hanging on, and in anticipation of my next favorite part. After perhaps 100 times of playing and replaying Angelina's Stay, it still haunts. It is even more special after hearing your words of analysis and praise. Hi Ceci (love watching your reactions!!) - So I watched the first episode of AGT last night (2021 season). One of the acts was a young singer (a 10 year old young man). The kid was amazingly good. Big vocals. Very animated. Really good. But his performance only reminded me of HOW MUCH BETTER Angelina was at 10 years old than ANYBODY else out there! I don't mean to take anything away from the young man on AGT. He was really good. He will go far. But honestly, Angelina is on such a different level. I was entertained and impressed with the young singer on AGT. But when Angelina sings, time stops. My heart stops. I can't breathe. I don't need to breath. (Like you I'm captured, hypnotized.) She pulls me in with the first note she utters and I find myself in a place inhabited only by her voice, and that precious, sweet face. And there I stay until that sad moment when she stops singing. And I know the same thing happens to SO many others. WHO ELSE can do that?? WHO?? No one. No one else can.
I have a confession!😊 First I LOVE the way you operate your reaction and breakdown's, second I am biased a LOT. Most of the videos I watch are Angelina because I have gotten to where so many other artist use mechanical tricks and popular songs either music riffs, beats or lyrics to enhance themselves but I am left with the feeling that their efforts are just to get paid. While they may have talent and be very good i am left wanting..
I know Angelina is singing other's songs but she approaches doing so in a dramatically different manner. She stays true to the original artists intent but I also feel she works SO hard to reach her audience so they feel what she feels when she listens to this music. Angelina shares emotion and feeling. I swear she puts her hand out and sais Join me in my walk though love, sorrow, loss, gain, or feel the joy I feel.. come walk with me.. That is why I like Angelina. It truly does not matter what song who sang it who wrote it with Angelina you are going on a trip and I have loved each one.
Her fans are called angels but I honestly believe God placed an Angel here for us in these crazy times and we call her Angelina Jordan... it does not escape me.. look at her name!
Ivan Mendez is the guitarist. He was select by Angelina's team to accompany Angelina in this at home video. In a recent interview Ivan said he never heard Angelina sing before and did not know what to expect. The expressions on his face are genuine as this is the first time he is listening to Angelina sing. Ivan also noted he would lose concentration and make mistakes because he was mesmerized by her voice. He continued to say he knew he was in the presence of the next Super Star.

Ivan is drinking to golden vocals. How many times while rehearsing this might he have just lost it, gone to listen mode, forgot about playing?
The hypnotic effect is from your ears going to maximum gain. The low volume entry to the song brings gain to 6. Then 7, 8, 9, 10.
We are allow our ears to be owned by the Angelina effect.

Mira por favor las entrevistas que Alan Papier hizo con Ivan y Egil en para les sesiones de grabación con Angelina, son muy interesantes para entender un poco mejor la magia de esta pequeña. Ambos confirman que prácticamente improvisaron con Angelina cada vez, eligieron una canción juntos, que muchas veces ni siquiera sabían (de hecho, casi siempre en esos videos ella lee la letra) y solo ensayaron la grabación 1 o 2 veces... esa hermosa chica decidió en el momento cómo procesar las canciones y ellos solo le dieron el apoyo musical 🤗 ❤️

El guitarrista Ivan también dijo que ese penúltimo “stay” era espectacular. Hay una entrevista con él que es muy interesante; dice que muchas veces él apenas conoce la canción y va improvisando, ella dice “vamos, sígueme” y graban la canción una vez y punto. Si, se nota en la cara de Ivan cuanto la admira a Angelina. Estoy muy de acuerdo contigo con respecto a lo del autotune, que no lo necesita, y que sin ser técnicamente “incorrecta” deja de ser Angelina. Con ella no es habilidad técnica tanto como es arte, arte a un alto nivel. Que reacción más buena!

Angelina won Norway's Got Talent at the Age of 8, and has been producing masterclass level vocals ever since. The only and regular marketing is done by the fans via UA-cam.
