Who does not regret not being closer to and knowing their grandparents better once they are gone AND once you are older and wiser. I had those feelings in my 40s long after they were gone. But to have this feeling at her age speaks to the old soul(s) within her.
This Angel took us with her to a place, that for her is VERY personal. It was raw, angst filled pain, yet brimming over with the love she has for her Grandpa. A most poignant song for us who've watched it dozens of times, and each one brings tears for her pain, and for me, strangely a bit of joy that she has a beautiful way to release pain and to heal her most precious heart. I can only applaud the immense love she has for her Grandpa, and what FAMILY means to her 🙏🏻. PEACE🎶
Britt, yes, this one is reserved at a special place in our hearts. It's another defining moment of who Angelina is. Britt, I have one more thing to say and that is, where have you come from? Britt, you are very special.
Beautiful reaction. Even after over three years seeing this I still get shivers etc watching Angelina cope with her loss. She does these tributes for us as much as for herself. Thank you.
I have a Willie Nelson CD, and this song is on it. Willie’s version is great, and it’s a wonderful fit with his voice. Angelina, as she does so frequently and so beautifully, sings the same lyrics, but gives them an entirely different meaning. Like so many of her songs, I can’t hear another version and not think of how Angelina’s is the one I will always remember. Angelina makes us feel, not just hear, the lyrics. And, as you noted, somehow the fit between her voice and this song is perfect-stunning. Angelina, an acoustic back-up, and a mic. Nothing else is needed.
Same for me. Every time I hear a song on the radio that Angelina sings, I get dissapointed that it isn't her. It's just not as good as when AJ sing the same song. ❤️🌟🎶
Some times, I feel like it’s not right that, I have those same feelings as I hear a song she has performed, but it’s not her voice and beautiful telling of the story. ❤
Hi Britt 👋. Love your reaction to this and your lovely comments. Angie was 12 here in 2018. She just lost her 1st grandpa in 2018, you see her and Ivan Mendez the guitarist were wearing black. She was recently at the funeral and she had Ivan Mendez come over to the hotel room as Angie and the family was meeting Ivan for the 1st time and did this in 1 take. Her friend Avicii died a month later and she did a dedication to him also. She did that with him in 1 take also. Her second grandpa died in 2019 during the filming of the finals on AGT-C in November 2019. She wrote "Million Miles " for him. A month later another friend of Angie's & the family died, Ari Behn former prince (by marriage) of Norway in December of 2019. She also did a dedication to him to. Thank you Britt for your kind reaction to Angelina and her dedications to those she has lost and loses. Loss can take time for some and a lifetime for others. I already lost grandparents, uncle, aunts, parent etc, a total of 7 in 15 years so far. It's nice when I hear how others tell about how Angelina's singing 🎵 helps them through it. ❤ I always think, what another wonderfully blessed gift God our heavenly father has given her. Again thank you and God bless you Britt and your family. 🙏🙂❤👍🙏
So much emotion in this song. You can really feel her pain. We hear and see so much about Angelina’s mom, uncle and grandma Mery and her maternal grandfather. Very little about her father. From this performance it seems that maybe she was never able to spend as much time with or connect with her paternal grandfather as she would have liked.
The first time I saw this, I was as struck by what happened when the video was over as I was by the video, and by that I mean that she posted it. For a pre-teen or teen or anyone to post something that ended up not the way you planned it and showed you crying is big. She seems so comfortable in their own skin. Ivan (on guitar) says when he showed-up almost everything they did was one take and nothing prepared in advance. Alan Papier has an interview with him along with one where he interviews Egil, the guitarist she used when she would be in Norway. Brit, you brighten my day. Thank you.
Thank you for covering this, Britt. This is a painful listen for us who love Angelina. It hurts to see her pain. But her voice! That rich vibrato on the low notes! Her grandfather would indeed by smiling down from wherever he is to see his granddaughter so honour him.
There are not words worthy enough to express how i feel about Angelina but my heart tells me everything when i listen to her or see her or speak about her, the earth is fortunate indeed to have her. Thank you Britt for your reactions to AJX
“Our family lost a treasure today, my grandfather passed away. He was very close to me and (has) always supported me in everything I did. He always made me smile, laugh and gave me great life lessons. He was a man who got respect from all over the town, always helped people in need, he was the definition of a true gentleman and generous man with a big heart. He will be remembered by homeless people he helped to be able to make a living. He was in deep pain for a couple of months now, he will no longer suffer from the pain. May he rest in peace, our memories together will stay forever in my heart. Until we meet again ❤️“ *Angelina Jordan* *Mar 4, 2018* Six days later Angelina posted this tribute.
Such a lovely tribute to your grandfather….I’m sure he felt your love and I’m also sure he is looking down upon you with love and pride for the wonderful person you are. Prayers for comfort. Your singing brings me joy, as well as helps me mourn the loss of my husband of 41+ years. He, too, was a lovely man.
she is such a happy person with a depth that many adults don't have. When I see her crying my heart breaks and I would like to hug her to tell her everything will be fine
Britt, my understanding is that this was on the day of Angelina's grandfather's funeral. She has dedicated songs to both of her grandfathers that she has lost -- giving them a kind of immortality through song. 🙏
Who follow Angelina can read the signals when she is nervous, sensible or after/before acomplicated voice rounds. One of the signals is when she takes her hair around her heard. She does it here when she becomes to feel more sensible. There are many other songs where she does it and other signals. For example, in the middle of "Yellow Brick Road" in AGT she swallow with a specific face expression in a pause after a long round.
Every time I see this performance I want to reach out and hug her. She makes this grandpa cry every time I hear this. Thank you for your sweet reaction.
Angelina's Paternal Grandfather (Swedish) passed away March 4, 2018. Her Maternal grandfather (Japanese) passed in 2019. This dedication was less than a week after his passing in March 2018.🌸 Such wonderful comments by you. The stronger you love, the longer the pain last. I think, a worthy exchange. 🌸
This always breaks my heart seeing her cry. Both as a follow human being and as a parent to at the exactly the same age(to the day)as my daughter you just want to sheild them and protect them from all pain in life. Bless her ❤
So many of us have followed her since she was a little child. I think she have many "grandparents" and "parents" out there and this one shows why we hold her close to our heart.
This was dedicated to her paternal grandfather. Million Miles was written and dedicated to her maternal grandfather who passed a couple of years later.
Hi Britt, I agree with many Angels that this video is difficult to react to for obvious reasons, as Angelina loves to entertain and gives and shows love wholeheartedly and to see her breakdown at the end is almost too much to bear . I want to point out her braveness to dedicate this song to her grandfather ,who's funeral she had just been to hours beforehand . Also, I want to point out the messaging I hear from this song. I think she is vocalising her young and wise thoughts . Whilst everyone can see the obvious love and devotion she has for the presence and influence of her grand mother Merri , we never got to see or hear much about her Japenese grandfather . But with this song lyrics , she gets to say she never meant to treat him second best and that she was blind to the passing time but she never forgot him as he was always in her mind. I believe in her own way she was asking forgiveness , and asking for a second chance to be at peace with his passing ; and this songs lyrics absolutely encapsulates all that she was feeling on that fateful day. Thank you Britt for sharing your warm and loving thoughts towards our gal and experiencing her tears and triumphs with us. Hope you have yourself a great week and I look forward to your next instalment. 💟💥
@103mrg yes, you are right on both ocassions! I actually meant her paternal grandfather and quoted her Japanese grandfather instead. Although , we never did see much of either of them in her video uploads. I can think of only 1 other occasion in the 'Happier' song where there's pictures of her grandfather in the background.
We never really hear anything about Angelina's dad, but she had good if not great relationships with both grandpa's. Them she lost both of them within a year or two. I suspect that's what drove Angelina to write Million Miles. It's a song for anyone who's experienced loss.
Comment 2 - I think Angelina has been gifted with the physical tools to compliment her genius and dedication: diaphragm control, lung capacity, vocal box, mouth and facial structure, a finely-tuned ear, plus her incredible heart and soul.
@@BigAngieFan808 No. Will somebody please get it straight for me once and for all?. Am I blind or what? Her Japanese Grandpa is shown here, who was Mery's husband. Both Sara and Michael are their children. So that was her Mother's father, not her Father's father. As for other Grandpa, I have no clue whatsoever, except he was pictured on her Million Miles video, alongside with her Japanese Grandfather.
@@claudest-gelais8456 You may be confused by the man in the photo looking vaguely Asian. At the time of the second grandfather’s death, Angelina talked about how very strongly grandma Mery reacted. It was strongly implied although not directly stated that it was because this was the man she had been married to, the father of Sara and Michael. Also at the time of the first grandfathers death Angelina talked extensively about his work in the community as if this was something she knew about directly, but Angelina was either very young or not born yet when the family moved to Norway.
Perhaps the word you could not find was melancholy. Angelina has this ability to express these sad themes with such conviction. In this case her emotions were raw and very personal - it must have taken a great deal of inner strength to perform this, may be even more to share it with us. I find it very difficult to listen to this without feeling that profound sadness...
Britt I was thinking of Angelina tonight before her concert in LA tomorrow evening. When she came to LA in 2020 she recorded her original and tribute to her grandfather on Republic records “million miles”. Then I remembered this reaction last year of her Elvis cover. Always on my mind. Beautiful and endearing reaction by both you and Angelina. Thank you ❤
If you are touched by the bravery of Angelina Jordan singing through grief, then you should hear Aurora singing Why Did You Have to Go a Place and Little Boy in the Grass (Mahogani session).
she is singing this song for her grandpa who had just passed away. how she got as far as she did with this song is beyond me. you can hear and feel her heart breaking in this recording ! she makes me cry.
I think Angelina's Grandfather was also someone who used to stop and talk to homeless people in the street and help some of them. This might also be where Angelina got it from. Steve from NZ
It's not so much the strength of Angelina's vocals, it's the incredible level of emotion they convey to the listener right from the start. However, when the two come together, as in her cover of Suspicious Minds, it's shocking.
Britt, Dear, this was her tribute to her paternal Grandfather, he passed away a year before her maternal Grandfather lost the battle against a very painful decease. She wears black. Elmar from Germany.
So she crumbles and doesn't make it thru this one. I think it was courageous to put it out there considering she breaks down and cries. I think it is visually certain,.. you can clock the exact moment she is deeply in trouble. I could see you didn't know what you were in for with this one. Fans know it to be crushing. As more time passed, she could do other dedications to her grandfather and make them land more solidly. This is really raw here. And again, I think everyone was shocked that she put it out just the way it happened.
Hard to watch this one, but Angelina's courage and love for her grandfather really shines through in this heartfelt tribute.

I agree with many Angels that this video is difficult to react to for obvious reasons, as Angelina loves to entertain and gives and shows love wholeheartedly and to see her breakdown at the end is almost too much to bear .
arcelie This song was dedicated to her paternal grandfather. Her maternal grandfather (Japanese) was honoured in Million Miles.
@@arceliedunn2022 And, of course, his photo also makes an appearance in Million Miles.
It was a few days after she lost her grandfather she dedicated the song to him as she said 🦶🦶🗣🎙👑🎷
Man I miss my grandpa. I'm so glad I got to give him a hug and a handshake literally minutes before he had his heart attack. RIP you SoB :)!
Thank you for another great reaction. "Happier" and "Always on my mind" were for her Japanese grandpa, "Million miles" was for her other grandpa.
I think it was the other way around
@@MichaelGroves777 yes
Yes Always on My Mind was for her father’s father. He passed away first. Million Miles is for her mom and uncle’s father, Grandma Mery’s husband.
Angelina Jordan shows she can be a living Valentine but have the strength of a loving child who has the purity of spirit 🌈❤️🌲
Angelina lost both of her grandfathers in a relatively short time.
Sweet reaction
Perhaps the word you could not find was melancholy. Angelina has this ability to express these sad themes with such conviction. In this case her emotions were raw and very personal - it must have taken a great deal of inner strength to perform this, may be even more to share it with us. I find it very difficult to listen to this without feeling that profound sadness...
Awesome reaction to Miss Emotion, God Bless!
Lovely heart felt, emotional reaction. ❤
Thank you ❤
Don't you just want to hug her? Thank you, Britt. It was nice to revisit this. Grandma Ellen, out.
This one get me all the time😢.
The guy on guitar is fantastic :-))
Well said, and kindly, too, Britt
Cant go through that without crying 😭❤️
If you are touched by the bravery of Angelina Jordan singing through grief, then you should hear Aurora singing Why Did You Have to Go a Place and Little Boy in the Grass (Mahogani session).
she is singing this song for her grandpa who had just passed away. how she got as far as she did with this song is beyond me. you can hear and feel her heart breaking in this recording ! she makes me cry.
Hearing this makes me cry for her
Still love her Chanel, best regards from germany Jürgen
❤❤❤❤👣 such a heartwarming video. Her love for her grandpa is something that I doubt he ever doubted.
I think Angelina's Grandfather was also someone who used to stop and talk to homeless people in the street and help some of them.
This might also be where Angelina got it from.

I cry every time I see this. She just breaks my heart.

I can't watch this video without getting emotional, she's all feeling, thanks Britt let's go for the 100k, sdos Argentina
🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
This video should come with a warning label, because it’s too emotionally charged to view. I can’t ever watch it again.
It's not so much the strength of Angelina's vocals, it's the incredible level of emotion they convey to the listener right from the start. However, when the two come together, as in her cover of Suspicious Minds, it's shocking.
Well done reaction.
Britt, Dear, this was her tribute to her paternal Grandfather, he passed away a year before her maternal Grandfather lost the battle against a very painful decease.
She wears black.
Elmar from Germany.
Wow look how young Ivan Mendez is here. Singing a Willie Nelson song.
Thanks!
