the only humility that matters is to be humble enough to receive the salvation offered by God by faith in the blood of Jesus Christ....humility to God is what matters not to man...
wicked people are humble in all kind of situations..doesn't mean they are angels of God or even saved.

Pride month has NOTHING to do with the pride in the bible.
There are much more famous homosexuals in history and presence than you think, because homosexuals do not identify over their sexual orientation but over what they do in their professions.
Many marry now and raise adopted kids in responsibility.

My Orthodox friends have all gone to public school, and nearly each one has something bad to show for it. One friend now has mixed feelings about whether homosexual relations are sinful. Another has begun swearing and using foul language occasionally. And my younger sister has become increasingly distant from her family. I know these people well, and I have full faith that they will move past these issues with Gods help. As for me, I am still homeschooled, but I have sinned by viewing pornography. Please pray for us Orthodox teenagers, the current world is very hard on us. Its hard on everyone.

This guy is not a seraphim. That sounds like pride. Taking on the name of the highest order of angelic beings.
More over pride is an individual issue which many have. The other matter here is its not same-sex relationships that's an abomination but, sodomy. Sodomy is both oral and anal sex and is an abomination because it is a perversion of what God intended for the reproductive organs.
Sexual immorality is rife in heterosexuals too. Today 80% of males and 40% of females are addicted to pornagraphy. Most men gay or straight look at others with lust. According to the Bible that is likened to committing adultery in their impure hearts. Pornagraphy falls in that category.
Why people want to throw stones at one group of people is mind boggling.
Homosexuals can choose their life partner. Homosexuals can have non-sexual unions. No sin in choosing a life companion. Marriage and propagation are individual choices.

I've been telling people, we can't accept heterosexual fornication sin, yet condemn homosexual sin. We have to be able to differentiate between our personal prejudice and our calling to tell the truth. I'm just a man that wants to be better, and i need Christ to help me.

    • @doriangray7723
      @doriangray7723 3 місяці тому +1

Not just heterosexual fornication but the pornagraphy and lust.
Even if a man looks upon a woman with lust he has committed adultery with her in his heart.
Moreover, the issue isn't same-sex companionship, i.e., life partners it's sodomy that's the abomination.
Sodomy is both oral and anal sex and is not exclusive to same-sex relationships.
Heterosexuals need to also be called out for sodomy.
It is the abomination because it's a perversion of what God intended reproductive organs for.
This is also an abomination in the marriage bed.
Again it's sodomy that's the actual abomination not same-sex relationships which can be intimate and non-sexual.

    • @LadyMaria
      @LadyMaria 3 місяці тому

The difference is that one is how God intended it at least as far as mechanics, the other is a d3viation that causes medical harm in males (and in women who allow men to do so, which is equally as bad). Both are fornication in this scenario, which is sin, but one is more h3in0us than the other.

    • @doriangray7723
      @doriangray7723 3 місяці тому

@LadyMaria NO! One is not worse than the other.
Sodomy is both oral and anal sex and is an abomination in God's sight. It is perversion of what God intended for the reproductive organs. That's propagation of our species.
It doesn't matter who is doing it.

    • @doriangray7723
      @doriangray7723 3 місяці тому

@LadyMaria SODOMY is an abomination regardless of who is engaging in it. SODOMY is both oral and anal sex. It's a perversion of the reproductive organs and propagation of our species.
This is not exclusively a homosexual issue. People need to call out the abomination of sodomy not specific people.
Same-sex attracted people can have non-sexual unions. Who we share our life/time with is choice. You do not have to be in a sexual relationship for intimacy. No sin in that.
Some people simply have no desire for the opposite sex and sexual relationships with someone of the opposite sex. Some have little sex drive or no sex drive, making them asexual. We are all different.

GK Chesterton said that when men stop believing in God the danger isn’t that they won’t believe in anything but that they will believe anything. They will believe that a man can become a woman, or that being a woman is simply a state of mind, or that men can menstruate or give birth. A very short time ago these ideas would have rightly been judged as absurd…but no longer.

Others identified them with their sexual orientation, and they were killed for it. They had enough and exited the bars and said they exist. Even now, within this video they are all grouped as one so they became a family. Because the Christians kicked then out of the church because their sin might infect others. They were told they are an abomination, some have never even heard the good news.

    • @annj281
      @annj281 3 місяці тому +2

It's like saying that you can't use a computer mouse if you're allergic to rodents. It only works in English, because you use the same word for two different concepts.
In Polish for example, what is promoted in pride month is called "duma", and the sin is called "pycha"
"Duma" is pride from your accomplishments, from who you are, or not being ashamed. It's used in sentences like "I'm proud of my son", "I'm proud of successfully finishing university" or, well... "I'm proud to be gay", meaning "I'm not ashamed of my sexual orientation".
"Pycha" is a lack of humbleness, being full of yourself, or "pride" as you call it. One of the 7 deadly sins in the Catholic Church.
Do you really think parents can't be proud of their children, or that you can't be proud of your nationality? That would mean that patriotism is sinful.

None of us are Godly. And it would be arrogant and heretical to say that we could be as such. Even the best of us, the chaste monks and nuns, even they cannot come close to Godliness. Thus is why penitence is what we should strive for. The orthodox Jesus prayer is such a wonderful example. We ask for God's grace and mercy all the time.

Blessed Fr. Seraphim of Platina was a homosexual Taoist before his conversion to Christ. Many cradle Orthodox struggle with sexuality and gender issues, too. Some of us have lost our children to this cultural shift - myself included. I wish others would say as Fr. Seraphim has here that our position toward people with such struggles, as with any struggle, should be one of love and concern rather than mockery and condemnation of the person, as is often seen elsewhere (unfortunately, among some internet popular clergy). Thank you for this thoughtful interview.

Yes, but when their attitudes want to shove it down our throats to force us to agree with them, is not acceptable. (those that are gay) When they have lost their way or abandoned their own sex that God gave to them at birth. I believe it happens because that child was hurt very deeply. When a parent is insensitive to a child's needs, temperament, or personality, it is like cutting off their own sex and being, so that they are disconnected, and later want to discard who they are or were in exchange for another sex to become. It is sad, but very sick too.

And i am only now understanding what it means. It's never been about creating an us and them or a liberal vs conservative, it's all been about some folks really just dig into a sinful and toxic habit, and slowly take a decline. Just throwing this out there: the Bible advocates for a balanced parent-child relationship, where respect and honor are mutual. Parents are called to exercise their authority with love, wisdom, and compassion, so as not to cause pain, resentment or discouragement in their children. Too often people take the text literally ("the rod of correction" - Proverbs 29:15) and abuse children thinking they're following Christianity. But the goal is to guide and correct, not to harm or humiliate. When you've had abusive parents, honoring them does not mean tolerating abuse or maintaining a harmful relationship with them for the rest of your life, but rather setting limits, and honoring your own mental health first. They may have given you life, but that has never been a ticket to justify any kind of abuse. Your healing process is a form of honoring your parents by not allowing their actions to define or control your future.
Here are some relevant examples from the Bible:
    OT: Deuteronomy 6:6-7; Deuteronomy 4:9; Proverbs 13:24; Proverbs 19:18; Proverbs 22:6; Proverbs 29:15
    NT: Ephesians 6:4; Colossians 3:21; 1 Timothy 3:4-5; 1 Timothy 5:8; Titus 2:4; Hebrews 12:7-11

Our Lord went out for 40 days and nights to be tempted in the desert, yet he did not sin. And because He was human, he felt the full brunt and weight of that temptation. So much so, that he had to have angels come and minister to him afterwards. It wouldn't have been much of a temptation if he wasn't tempted. It's right there in the very word. "For we do not have an high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are--yet he did not sin." Hebrews 4:15. I agree wholeheartedly with everything else this man is saying, but that's where we part ways. If you're prepared to say that just feeling tempted is, in itself, a sin, even though it's not acted upon, you're going to have to make a case for how our Lord didn't sin when he was tempted if you want me to follow you down that road.

    A few questions:
    1) When you speak of Satan, is this a literal person who has power over earth? Why doesn't God overpower Satan? Does Satan's power undermine God's providence? Or if Satan operates within God's providence, how is God not responsible for Satan's activity? What supernatural activity requires Satan to explain it? Couldn't all activity on earth be explained by natural laws and human nature?
    2) "We are made in the image of God." - What does this mean?
Do we look like God? No, God has no body.
Do we think like God? No, God's thoughts are higher than our thoughts. (Isaiah 55)
There is a dilemma here: The more God is like us, then the lesser God is. But the greater God is, the less he is like us, and the less we are made in the image of God.
    3) Is all pride a sin? So when a father is proud of his son, this is evil?
    4) What is our purpose? Where in the Bible can an individual find their individual purpose? Be fruitful and multiply? - even those with severe genetic diseases that will pass down to their children? Is it God's purpose that we become lawyers and doctors and engineers - or do we become those things because we must to survive? Isn't it curious that our "God given" purposes happen to correspond with jobs that are necessary for survival? Find someone who survives purely by God alone and I will be impressed.
    5) God's commands are a reflection of who God is. What about God's commands to kill the Canaanites? What does that say about God, who clearly has the power to achieve the same ends without violence?
    6) The Bible says one thing and we filter it through our reasoning. When the Bible says "Thou shalt not kill", we immediately realize that it's strictly false. Killing in self-defense is okay. (Not to mention God kills a lot in the Old Testament, so do the Israelites at God's command.) When the Bible says pride is a sin, we immediately realize that there are different kinds of pride, and being proud of one's sobriety after a battle with addiction, or proud of one's parents-these aren't cases of evil pride. God says be fruitful and multiply, but we recognize that this doesn't apply to infertile couples, or couples with recessive genes that would result in their children having Cystic Fibrosis.
So inevitably Christians filter the Bible through their own reasoning.
Now here's a question. What's wrong with a woman marrying a woman? Or a man marrying a man? How does reason bear on this?

"Is Satan a literal person who has power over earth?"
Satan is a spirit being who affects the Earth through humans.
      "Why doesn't God overpower Satan?"
The scripture is an explicit prophecy that that's exactly what he will do. Why not do it sooner? To give more time for people to repent, to save as many souls as possible.
"Does Satan's power undermine God's providence?"
Providence is divine guidance and care. Yes, evil spirits, the worst of which is Satan, undermine divine guidance and care. Like a parasite that blocks you from seeking help.
"If Satan operates within God's providence, how is God not responsible for Satan's activity?"
Satan had God's providence, but rebelled against it. God gives no providence to demons. We have free will and our responsible for our own actions. Including Satan.
"What supernatural activity requires Satan to explain it?"
This question is nonsensical. Our activities aren't supernatural. No activity "requires" Satan. Satan just is, and will influence your Earthly activities unless defended against.
"Couldn't all activity on earth be explained by natural laws and human nature?"
Yes. And natural laws and human nature are fundamentally spiritual. We are inseparable from God. You will find that everyone who attempts separation from this truth, will fall in their pride.
"Do we look like God? No, God has no body."
We are God's body. If you deny God's ownership of your body, then yes, it seems like God has no body. Because you've taken prideful ownership of your own body, and God seemingly has no more space to occupy in this physical reality. But then demons take over your body.
"Do we think like God? No, God's thoughts are higher than our thoughts."
If you let God think for you, you'll find that your thoughts become more like God's.
"There is a dilemma here: The more God is like us, then the lesser God is. But the greater God is, the less he is like us, and the less we are made in the image of God."
God does not become lesser by connecting with his own creation. Also note we are continuously REMADE. Let God control you and you'll be remade in his image, again and again.
"Is all pride a sin? So when a father is proud of his son, this is evil?"
Yes. The father didn't made the son, God did. A prideful father assigns credit of creation to himself. That will leads to taking credit for many other things. Sooner or later, pride is all he's got. And then comes the fall.
"What is our purpose? Where in the Bible can an individual find their individual purpose?"
This you will discover when you study scripture in religious community. We are not individuals, this is a flawed line of questioning. You FEEL like an individual because you're LOST. When you find God, you're not an individual anymore, you're God's body.
Since I took the time to reply, I also took the time to phone God directly. He says your purpose is to become a loving husband and good father, trustworthy and fair in your business, and appreciative of arts.
"Be fruitful and multiply? - even those with severe genetic diseases that will pass down to their children?"
You're hung up on exceptions preventing you from accepting rules. Most people are perfectly capable of multiplying.
"Is it God's purpose that we become lawyers and doctors and engineers - or do we become those things because we must to survive?"
Lawyers, doctors, and engineers were absent for most of human history, yet we survived. It's possible that a given person is destined to become these. Just seems like a weird question.
"Isn't it curious that our "God given" purposes happen to correspond with jobs that are necessary for survival?"
Who says lawyers are necessary for survival? 😂
"Find someone who survives purely by God alone and I will be impressed."
You don't seem very impressed by Jesus. Maybe you should try harder. Many people sacrificed EVERYTHING to bring you their discovery of this very person you speak of. Yet you speak as if he never existed. While living in a civilization that counts time since Jesus was born.
"What about God's commands to kill the Canaanites? What does that say about God, who clearly has the power to achieve the same ends without violence?"
What end? Absolute obedience to God is the beginning. Act against God and you will be destroyed, one way or another.
"When the Bible says "Thou shalt not kill", we immediately realize that it's strictly false."
The Bible is a general instruction manual to life. God may instruct you personally to act otherwise. Why doesn't the entirety of scripture contain specific instructions for every person for all time? Well, not enough paper.
"When the Bible says pride is a sin, we immediately realize that their are different kinds of pride, and being proud of one's sobriety after a battle with addiction, or proud of one's parents-these aren't cases of evil pride."
Yes, they are. If you assign credit for your sobriety to yourself, in the form of pride, then you will fall into alcoholism again. That's what pride does, it's a demon. Proud of your parents elevates parenthood above God, and you will become the proud parent who thinks he knows better, producing prideful children, who spiral deeper into sin. PRIDE IS A SIN. All glory should be accredited to God. You should serve as his instrument with humility and grace.
"God says be fruitful and multiply, but we recognize that this doesn't apply to infertile couples, or couples with recessive genes that would result in their children having Cystic Fibrosis."
No, YOU recognize that. Maybe their ancestors fell so far from God that their punishment is being realized by their children. Maybe they have a special mission that's an exception from general rules. If you want, I can ask directly about a specific couple.
"So inevitably Christians filter the Bible through their own reasoning."
This is true for every single written word you could ever read in any setting. It fails to diminish the significance of scripture that, despite this fact of lossy communication, endures to this day.
"What's wrong with a woman marrying a woman? Or a man marrying a man?"
      Neither produces children. Easy.

I think a major thing that you touched on is finding purpose after trauma. You said 1 in 3 has experienced trauma. I think when someone has experienced trauma, they don’t have the guidance or help to know how to unpack that & heal. And may take comfort in whatever “sin“ they’re in. Mostly out of wounded ignorance. The church being a hospital I see it as important to love people where they are so they have the opportunity to experience mercy & healing.

No one is judging them in their struggle. They are obviously deluded, clearly worshipping themselves, but it IS A distortion of the Truth, and if we truly love our neighbor, we don’t validate or accept that in order for them to feel inclusive.

Indian is not Orthodox, it's from the Oriental communion. The others are in the Orthodox Church. Greek, Russian, Ukranian (not OCU), Bulgarian, Romanian, Serbian, Georgian, Orthodox Church in America, Antiochian, etc. These are canonical.
I recommend the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia (ROCOR).

It's an American thing. Every June they have Pride month, meaning "proud to be LGBT" (lesbian, gay, bi-sexual, transgender). It's a cultural thing for them, a lot of companies and organizations having events, like parades or publishing books, etc. cultural events in recognition of LGBT people over there. That's about it. They also have a Black History month (to honour black people and their history in the US) and there are others, but Pride month and Black history month (I think that's in February) are the most famous thematic months. Don't think of them as official celebrations, as much as cultural, informal celebrations.
