Lyrics
I've gone through changes
I've gone through pain
But there's not enough reason for me to go insane
I know the feeling, when it grows
I'm in a rage up from my head down to my toes
You know it ain't easy
Running out of thrills
You know it ain't easy
When you don't know what you want
Rock now, rock the night
'Til early in the morning light
Rock now, rock the night
You'd better believe it's right
I know my limit
Just what it takes
When things ain't good enough
I just pull the brake
Sometimes it's easy
Sometimes so tough
But just have one thing clear
I can't get enough
hi to two wonderful people travis and suzi. this next video in the hair metal greatness series is a swedish band called europe. they are mostly well known for their mega hit the final countdown which i think everyone has heard unless you have been living under a rock. for today's reaction i have chosen a song called rock the night which is my favourite europe track and more of that tremendous 80's hair rock that i love so much. like most of the other hair bands europe were massive in the 80's and early 90's but were killed off by the grunge scene in the 90's but made a comeback in the 2000's when this type of rock music became popular again.
Saw Europe back in the 80s. They played 'the final countdown' TWICE
That whole album is a collection of hits nearly unparalleled in the whole Hair metal era. I remember we were kinda scoffing at Hair metal as "poser metal" back in the day, but when Europe entered the stage, suddenly we found ourselves rocking all night to that stuff.
Europe were the posiest poser of them all. A joke band here in sweden.
@@timothy790110 Doesn't change what I said at all. ^^
Dude. There was a couple actual jams, but there's a lot of cringe (in retrospect) (IMO)
@@dkmcbigsley In general, yeah. On that particular album, not so much. Also IMO, of course. And if I think about bands like Amaranthe, Falling in Reverse and other shit like that, it's not as if today's music is any less cringey than it was back then.
This album was soooooo good and still is!!🤟🤟⚘
Tempest always had an amazing voice. He could’ve been the lead singer for almost any band in that genre.
And he's better looking than just about anybody ~
Great 👌 Energy. They've had some bangers out there... ..a.few hidden gems 💎.
Got that fab Bon Jovi/Def Leppard timeless melodic sound.
Peace guys 🙏😎
My favorite Europe song ❤
seen Europe twice in Los Angeles! both shows were epic! the lead guitarist is John Norum, he has solo albums and is a phenomenal player!
I am 'weak' for John Norum, (have all solo albums) flashbacks to 1986 live in Sweden...
('Do wanna buy' a John Norum T shirt from 1986)?🇸🇪
( in this video it is ' Kee Marcello on the guitar)
My friend & guitar teacher, Billy White actually shared guitar duties (& writing the music) on Don Dokken's solo album with John.
🔥🎸🔥
@@kungsverige1886 in the video it is Kee Marcelo but it sounds like the studioversion so it is probably John Norum playing for real
Kee's work on Out of this world is fantastic , One of the most underrated albums of the genre .
Love Europe 🤘🏻
My favorite album of Europe is their 2nd album Wings Of Tomorrow (1984). The 1983 self titled solo album is great too. Their newer stuff is fantastic.
They play 40th anniversary shows here in their home country Sweden this fall, in a small arena/big old theater. I might go and see them again, always great!
OMG je kiiiiffff grave excellent wouahhhh merci les adorables reacts très bon choix Europe no 1 musique voix sexy parfait mes belles années folles nostalgie iconic mythe phénomènal artiste top du top 💖🙏👏👍😱🎤🎼🎶🎵😍🎸
Saw the vid back then
a great music decade with many great bands and vocals
This is why living in the 80's was the best.
Oh oui nostalgie souvenirs inoubliable 😢
Stormwind and scream of anger are 2 of my faves.
Underrated group beyond compare…
You should check out their song Superstitious. Great vocals and guitar solo.
I know
This is the best song and band to ever exist
Seen them live last year & they still Rock the Night!
Saw them live on stage last year with Whitesnake in Oberhausen Arena Germany 🇩🇪 they were awesome
Epic band from a golden era. We used to listen to that album in loops.
Ah Swedish rock at its finest, with a Norwegian guitarist in John Norum. Good times and excellent reaction:)
Born in Norway and move to Sweden 1 year old....🇸🇪
In this live performence Kee Marcello play lead guitar...
One of the best guitarist in ths 80's. Check out "Superstitious" and "Cherokee"
Oh dear Poser Metall :D Great times lol
They come from the community where I live, Upplands Väsby, aprox 30 min north of Stockholm. They become famous after winning a battle of the band sorta contest and was huge in europe and in asia.
The beast rock group ever
I saw them a few years ago with the Black Star Riders (Scott Gorham from Thin Lizzy's band). Both bands were awesome! Joe Tempest -- Europe's lead singer sounded just like he did 35 years ago. Check out Cherokee, On Broken Wings, Open Your Heart and Seven Doors Hotel.
Great pants....and a great pair. 😁
Can’t wait to see you react to the new falling in reverse song watch the world burn!!!
It is pretty epic 🔥
Europe rocks 🎉
Keep it up Them G! Love "hair-metal" and reactions to it :)
Europe - classy band....
Might be worth you checking out WOLFSBANE - the song "Manhunt" is still the track that they're known for... and they feature ex-Iron Maiden vocalist Blaze Bayley... whose solo stuff is not to be sniffed at either - particularly the live versions of tracks like "Born As A Stranger" and "The Brave".
3 words: Scream Of Anger.
You're welcome
More music from Sweden 🤘🤘🤘🔥🔥🔥 Life is Now, Basic Element etc...
super ; )))
I saw them at the last concert of the "Final Countdown tour" in the Genoa Palasport in 1987, it was like the energy of an atomic bomb released throughout the concert. I put them among the most unforgettable concerts I've seen: Europe Genoa 1987, Duran Duran Milan 1987 (50,000 people a delirium never seen again), Huey Lewis and The News, Smallworld Tour Milan 1988, Vasco Rossi Liberi Liberi Tour 1989, Guns n Roses Modena 1994, Phil Collins Milan 1994, Duran Duran Genoa 2006 Reunion tour , Motley Crue Dr Feelgood tour Milan 1991, Queen + Paul Rodgers and Queen +Adam Lambert both in Milan. Of course I've seen many others but these are the ones that were epic. If you've never seen him, I suggest you take a look at Vasco Rossi.. you'd be surprised, Start hearing some piece from the live "fronte del palco" he has a guitarist who increases the number of notes.. with him it's 8 or 9
There is an official video of this song..
Every time I pick a video of yours it was brought to us by Them G. Why is that? 😄
Their 2012 album "Bag Of Bones" is actually amazing blues rock record.
I love this channel
Fun fact here is that artist Pernilla Wahlgren had a similar haircut ,when she sang "Picadilly Circus".
The sounds totally dubbed straight from the studio recording. Must have been for a TV show... Not really a "Live" recording...
🔥🎸🔥
Huh? Who says it is a live recording? Isn't this just the music vid? Standard with a "live show" as theme in "hair metal". Even Final Countdown music vid has an identical theme
@@DaP84 They usually just react to "live" recordings... Just making an observation....
No there was an actual.vid it was half concept / half "live " , This is some music show .
BUT THIS WAS THE RULE IN 80s TV SHOWS...BUT THEY ARE AMAZING AND BETTER IN LIVE SHOWS!!! NOW A DAYS TOO WITH JOEYs 60 YEARS!¡
Love Europe Joesy temasd Rock The Nigth Lupi to
Check out Paradise Bay and Seven Doors Hotel from Europe
Check out Wings Of Tomorrow and Stormwind from 1984. Also the newer song The Getaway Plan from 2006. Much heavier Europe. Guitarist John Norum did some great solo albums. Check out Eternal Flame from 1987 Extremely great guitar work
😎🤘
Joey Tempest ( lead singer)...what a great name...sounds like a action hero 😂
And he is like a tempest!!! Really energetic still now with 60 years!! Love him!!
Question: When are you going to adopt Them G? Or at least have him on as a guest!!! Thanks for all the fun and killer requests, Them G!! 🎶🎼🎵🎸🥁🎧🎹🎤🎙🤘🤘🤘
Thanks Marcie you are too kind.
@@Them_G seriously, they should adopt you!! I love all the requests you've made. We must have been born around the same time!! Keep up the good work!!🤘🤘🤘🎶🎼🎵🎸🥁🎧🎹🎤🎙
@@marcieharreld286 Thanks. I was born 1974 and grew up with 80's hair/glam/hard rock/metal and that is all I still listen to. I like only a few recent bands like Nightwish, Battle Beast and Lovebites.
@@Them_G oh you're just a baby!! I was born in 1952 so you imagine how many great bands I've had the privilege to see!!!🤘🤘🤘🎶🎼🎵
@@marcieharreld286 Wow it must have been a great time to live through the prime eras of the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath and so many other great bands.
On radio in my car yesterday. Classic song and album.
Does Sirius XM have hair nation?
Had the tape
Love also Danger on the track
Previously called Force and did prog
@@michelelaraia7358 me too, they have so many great songs.
Check out Stormwind live at Solna Hallen 1986 with their original Guitar Player John Norum 🎉
They call themselves Europe and there from Sweden that's funny 🤣 sound good live the style
Why is that funny?
@@MRCANTGETANAME ist Sweden Scandinavia not part of eroupe
@@randalladams7692 Sweden is in Europe though.
@@MRCANTGETANAME oh ok I thought wrong
@@randalladams7692 what continent did you think that Sweden was a part of?
You guys should do reaction to their song Final Countdown
Do TNT,.As far as the Eye can See~
You have to love the 80s LOL
do react to The Final Countdown by them as well.. fire track!!
Clothes were great in the 80s everything was better in the 80 s
Great song, and John Norum’s guitar tone was stellar but I really hate mimed performances!
Please react to Europe more than meets the eye
It sucks ghat the keyboard player didn’t even get shown in this video.
Hairdresser a lot in the 80s
definitely not having some weird gold chain on your neck...bit different year.
Hi why don't you do a UB40 Reachion
Joey Tempest and the boys are amazing..
And please don't call it hair metal... This is one of the bands that rocked with long hair before the sunset strip went glam
The 80s was the best era for metal/hair metal. Not like the cRAP out there today. Maybe you all should take a clue
So sorry you had to go through that....
karaoke...the singer in concert doesn't sing anywhere near the voice that produced the album
Norum left them so this guy didn't play solos
