Same here. Self taught. UA-cam taught. Fuck a schoool. There’s ALOT they don’t teach you and just want money. I started with music then games then animations the video editing and now I’m combing all into my game and devlogs :)
i dont know how you're sitting at barely 2.5k subscribers, that insane. Actually bro you're super talented not only with games, your youtube videos are pretty damn crazy to say the least. Hope your channel grows bigger soon :D
@@3gnomesgames909 i just love the developers behind the games, i bought dreams on release not because i knew i would play it that much but more to directly donate to the studio
This is so relatable. The team struggles is something that exists on every first project and like you said, these people are not evil. It's hard to come to terms with that when the passion for your game is burning. One issue I had with my programmer was how the code base became impossible to work on because of how it was built at the start. I don't know if that was the case for your programmer but that can lead to very slow progress and programmer moral just crashing. You seem to be super motivated and that's awesome to see, you don't always need other people when you start but after this project I would recommend giving it another shot! You just need to pick the right people that have the same goal alignment as you.
I’ve noticed this in my own friend group with the various projects we work on, each of us to an extent sometimes also overestimate what we can do and then end up disappointed when it turns out what we wanted to do was actually more complex than we initially thought. It’s like the saying “eyes bigger than the belly” we get too hyped up about too many ideas that we hardly finish any of them.
I can relate to the crappy computer 😭I was learning blender a few months ago and got burned out. This month I finished my first 2d game but I eventually want to get into 3d games. And like you I don't code but love the art side. For now I think I will stick to 2d for a bit and slowly work on practicing my 3d before I try making a 3d game. For the longest time I felt like I couldn't make a game by myself until I found the no code softwares but I feel like I don't have enough experience to team up with someone. But maybe I can make a cool game by myself. I will have to look into playmaker. Really inspiring video!
If anything blender at the start/end should be a breeze, I do bunch of things in Google slides so I have patients, unless blender has a different way of growing shapes.
@@3gnomesgames909 Nice, thank you for the answer.. Was just curious. Currently I'm learning game-dev and my wife is supporting me with her salary, it was a tough fight though :D Nobody likes going from something to nothing.
I've got a couple smaller projects on Itch.io but my main game is coming out on Steam this fall! It's called Toby's Topsy Tale and it's available for wishlist now on Steam!

Wow thank you so much!
Little big planet 3 also started my interest in making games!
I hope the developers know how much they inspired people

Thank you! And I'm sure you're right. I, at the very least, shouldn't swear off working with others again in the future entirely

Oh really. Now I need a friend who shares the same dream. Easy
You can meet people online in groups of the same interests. That’s where I met most of my team.

You should! And if you do- show it off in my discord! I'd love to see you making progress!
Do any of your videos go over important differences between playmaker and unreal engines similar features?
Not in particular, no. But I've thought about it
I'm just curious, what do you do for your main job? Where does the money com in from?
I work a part time factory job and do photography to support myself while I'm working on my game

I think 90% of people getting into blender have done a donut tutorial
Can I find your games on steam?
I've got a couple smaller projects on Itch.io but my main game is coming out on Steam this fall! It's called Toby's Topsy Tale and it's available for wishlist now on Steam!
how do you make money out of these projects?
Well eventually I'll be able to put my game up on Steam and sell it but for now I'm supporting myself with a part time job so I can focus on my game
My laptop can't even run blender
