I'm one who has a coding background and am going BACK to G-Develop because it seems like I could put games together a lot faster with G-Develop and I like how G-Develop has a lot of pre-built in things that saves time and in G-Develop I could still do coding if I need to. Also, their integration of 3D has been the icing on the cake!
Totally agree. Yesterday I started a project and after 2 hours I had my basic concept done of the game. This would have never been possible when having to write everything from scratch. It saves so much time because you can simply import a lot of frequently used game logics by using behaviours. @Tauredian you said the visuals get messy. I dont agree, you can structure it very well with external events in my opinion and collapse many logic trees to be more visual.
this is so nice and motivating video. Like you said earlier everyone (included me) wants to start their dream game project and it never goes good :D Since i heard Multiplayer options in Gdevelop in few weeks(month) i wanna return back to gdevelop and Start again. I'm not pro im just a novice this time instead of making games, i will work on Game mechanics like growing trees, Rpg stat system,Parabolic shot etc. I'm glad see your projects and journey, what you did what you have learnt etc. Thank you
Awesome vid dude this is what progress looks like as a beginner dev, honesty and modesty are definitely on display kudos G from one noob to another I look forward to seeing what you post in future and ill be watching ❤
I love this video and your games look great. Well done on your progress. And the mic sounded fine to me. Just started with gdevelop after years with construct
Great video! GDevelop is a great engine for making basic games when getting started, and you can make some really cool stuff inside the engine with enough time put into it.
I usually don’t comment on videos but I just want to thank you for posting this video! I have been debating to whether or not make a game in Gdevelop or make a game at all. Watching your video helped me solidify my choice to make games on this engine. Rock on bro!
I just did my first personal "game jam" i did it by myself in an entire day. Its my first game in gdevelop. Its called The Adventure of The real black mayo. It took about 12 hours to make and its super buggy lol
Hey! That's super cool. The games look fun and you were totally right to start with smaller games. Hope you keep using GDevelop! - GDevelop's Marketing Lead.
Nice job!! I did Unity before but my computer takes 30-40 mins to load it up, same with Unreal Engine lol, and I researched GDevelop is a lot more convenient for building anywhere, seems they even have a decent phoneapp (I spend a lot of time on my bed without access to a computer cuz kinda paralyzed /health-issues so if I wanna make something in future I might need to use some phone game engine or access an online site I can build from) . It's really cool to see your journey so far, pretty nice for only a few months. Great job with the video too, don't worry about audio. It's really inspiring.
yes, but is just the beggining the content and the way that you show up the projects was really enjoyable, also make my day. see someone so focus, starting the project with a goal. i will try to make that. i'm using gdevelop since 04/22, and but in real time learning is something about 1 year. the first year and was lost in the tutorial hell.
Thanks for the vid. I think your games are very interesting. I am new to GDevelop...Like 2 weeks in. I am trying to create my own assets. I hope you share more of your games and tutorials.
Who are you? Why are you in my subscription list??? Anyways awesome video!!! Hope to see more of your work in the future!!!!!!! Still, WHO ARE YOU? Oh wait, I realized you ain't in my subscription list....😂 Now you are👍🏻
This is great! I use gdevelop too! I made two games. One I spent a few months on since I refused to use tutorials for some reason. And the other game I made in a week but it is buggy when played on the internet.
Very nice. I'm also tinkering with GDevelop for years now, even made some extensions as well (but never published them). My plan is to start with Godot, but I'm afraid I'll never have enough time to master it. so I keep delaying and playing with GDevelop instead. Wanna team up? :D
hello Tauredian. I'm also learning to make games with gdevelop, and I'm confused about how to make a power up weapon with limited ammo, and when the ammo runs out, the weapon changes to the default weapon. can you help me, thank you
So far I've been able to do everything I've set out to do, though some stuff is kind of finicky and time consuming in Gdevelop. When a project gets big enough, you really have to make sure to keep organized or else you can be hunting down a particular piece of code you are looking for between various external event tabs. Having to use "Tiled" or "Level Design Toolkit" to make use of tilesets is annoying, I would love it if someday they integrated tilemap support directly into the engine.
@@Tauredian Yeah I can imagine it being a bit tricky to find things in unorganized event sheets and so on. At least that's something that can be somewhat avoided though. I asked because I was thinking of picking up GDevelop for a game. But I've decided to go with GameMaker instead after I saw that they're planning on making JavaScript a first class language. And console exports are nice too, if I ever need them.
@@WorstDeveloper Yeah i'll probably end up with either gamemaker or godot eventually. Gdevelop has been a great starting place though and it's definitely worth considering especially for newcomers.

You are an absolute 10/10 brilliant logical and fantastic developer with your attitude. No other notes.
I'm jealous of your first games, good job

Thanks for the comment! Good luck on your games.
Gdevelop is pretty cool. I was trying to learn making games in Gdevelop last year. This video inspires me to go back and pick it up again.

Great job old boy! Looks like you are having fun! Thanks for sharing, many vids are about people giving up and/or changing engine. Loved it.
Great video! GDevelop is a great engine for making basic games when getting started, and you can make some really cool stuff inside the engine with enough time put into it.
Love this video. So honest about what solo game dev really is like. Thank you for sharing it.
You can be very proud of those acomplishments! :)

Great video man! I also started using GDevelop at the beginning of the year, I'm really impressed by your first games! 😎

The pathfinding issue is simple just move the origin of the targeted object and the enemy origin in the center
Cool projects. Good luck with the game development journey.
Damm! These Games are amazing. You also did all the pixel art yourself which is really good for some basic stuff. Curious for your next Game!
God my mic is terrible, sorry everyone.
just another thing to look back at, in the future

Little tip: When you have music in the transitions dont cut it off when you talk. Keep the music but otherwise good video 😃

Question, what are the tutorials and guides you used to get started?
The officil Gdevelop youtube channel tutorials are a good place to start.
In game no 5 how your hand follows mouse cursor male gdevelop tutorial on it
Have you ever felt limited by GDevelop? If so, in what way?
