- The Land Rover II is a great platform if you understand the common issues these trucks have and keep up on maintenance as with any vehicle. The unique profile and alpine windows make it an iconic truck. Just make sure to keep an eye on the gremlins.

If you had a land rover, you'll never finished prep it.
Awesome rig and congrats for daring to be different among the sea of jeeps.
Thank you!
your LR Disco is what Jeeps dream about becoming when they grow up!!
My dad has the same Disco 2 he has had since my childhood... It was the family trip, recreational 4x4.. I remember it breaking down , out in remote trails, at lease 5 times in 1 summer lol... He rebuilt and replaced certain engine components, but ultimately eventually ended up swapping the engine for a General Motors LS engine!.. He has since had the entire body and frame restored, reinforced the frame during the restoration process, and basically only the body and frame are what is left of the original vehicle lol... If you have a good budget, you can make the Disco 2 very reliable!
The Disco 2 is the best looking SUV of it's era.. I love seeing people fixing up these beauties!
Nice Land Rover set up, you got the LR bug, once they get under your skin.........
Yep have several now 😂
Such a beautiful rover 💚 This is what I’m trying to do for my 2001 LR Disco 2 . These suvs are rare gems. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you!
The type of person I’d hangout with ✌️
I touught exactly the same when buying, Is going to be ridcosuly expensive to modify mine here in Mexico City, buth is worth it to be different.
literally my goal build for my '03! working out the maintenance kinks currently and eager to modify....love these rigs
If you ever have any questions hit me up on my Instagram @seadogs_overland
I have the same bumper, what shackles are those? Love this whole vibe
I like this dude and his motor.
🤙🏼
Cracking looking disco 2 there buddy, got one myself here in the southwest of uk and like all landy owners am spending time and a few hard to come by £'s getting her a little more off road reliable. Had a 300tdi many moons ago and loved it just the same. Don't know why i like-em so much, i guess it's cos they demand attention just like me every now and again!
Totally get you're loving being out there in the wilderness especially as you said with the crap of modern life all around us!! Wish we had more of the massive spaces you have over here in the uk. Does give a good excuse to go travel though :).
Take care and enjoy your escapism.
I'm adding cracking to my vocab thanks
Love the lift, wanna do that to mine 2000 model! They are different that’s why I love ‘em also!!!
Just watched your Tasmania run the other day! Great self recovery coming up that sanding hill!
I’m in the UK and that’s a colour we aren’t used to. Seriously nice motor
Had mine since HS and wanted to sell it a few times but i just can't. Still runs great, no 3 amigos and looks brand new inside and out. But its time to rig it up, get some adventure scars on it while using it for what it's built for, and reconnect.
If the motor ever goes on this one that’s what going in it or a Cummins swap
I just bought a 2004 land rover discovery 2 with the 4.6 with 146k on mileage that was in a minor accident. The previous owner said it runs & drives i completely got it by not driving with every one driving my plan is to do a 5.3 LS swap and mate it to current transmission so i can keep the functions/ features on that transmission, i already own a land rover lr3, but i always liked the look of the D2 they are easy to lift no shop needed on many things its crazy i own over t0 cassette tapes from back in the day but it will have togo the radio, i keep telling myself this will be a simple build i own 8 other old vehicles i spent a lot on my 07 yota fj cruiser and 05 jeep wrangler unlimited rubicon, thats built for overlanding, i hope i keep this build under 10k by me doing most of the work but the LS swap probably cost me 6k there in parts & motor anyway nice build 😊
Mid tenn rover disco2 here. We are on same page. Different. Not a sheep. Clean rig.
Thank You
Shawn Michaels looks great in retirement age.
😂😂 I get that a lot!
Amazing Discovery 2 build! 👌 How's those engine temps looking? 🤓 Great video btw! Simon
They stay around 183-186
I honestly watch this video on a daily basis!! Literally my inspo build
Hell yeah!
Thank you! @xandera did a fantastic job with the video, if you want Follow my Instagram @seadogs_overland and you’ll see more building of this rig!
Grew up in NC and love LRs. I own two Discos! Great video!
I'm also turning it into off road, I can't find the footboard mounted on this car
Yo tengo un td5 siempre me a gustado y me parece muy completo y cómodo con grandes capacidades 4x4 no me puedo quejar de él me imagino el v8 tendrá que ser un tanque
Amen brother, mine runs strong and lift and bumper is all she needs good to go. Got no issues so far other than regular maintenance. They built them bulletproof.
What motor do you have on it? 4 l?
it has the 4.0 V8
Nice rig! How’s the chassis? What treatment do you recommend?
Thank you! Mostly what I do is just go through about once a year and scrap and new rust off and paint again
What a beautiful rig! Well done.
Thank You!
Bought mine in north Raleigh! working towards a similar build to this
That’s where i bought mine at
I’ve watched this video at least 20 times
Well done boet (brother)
Just bought a 2000 model TD5 Discovery and loving it
I feel your joy and can't wait every day to Finnish work and go off-road,😂
The best 4wd by far
From South Africa
Cape town
Wish I could find me a TD5 in the states! That motor is a beast especially after a good tune!
Super build mate! ❤
Thank you!
Enjoyed it man!
Great truck!
Thank You!
What beach is this?
2:55
Ah Portsmouth 🏖️
This was Emerald Isle
Britain's finest flop. Built to drive around the world, providing its not too hot or wet, no sand, no steep uphill etc. It's a very happy beast if it's kept in a garage [yours, or the dealers, it doesn't worry] where it's warm and cosy!
