What a bitter sweet video to make! I was so pumped on the j10 but I just had to much going on in my personal life to pull it off. The good news it this j10 will now get all the right parts. I REALLY wanted to do a p pump swap on this cummins but didn't have it in the onx build off budget. Now, I can do some of these smaller details that will make this the J truck of my dreams 😎.
Plus....
Look at this old rover! What a great looking little monster. Snow can't come soon enough!
Your lemonade is fukkin delicious😁
🍋➡️🥇
👍🏼👍🏼
Still stoked for the j10
Glad you're going to finish the J10. Also the Onx build is going to be sweet I'm sure.
From rust to ruggedness, this Land Rover is about to embark on an epic journey. Bring on the snow!
Ok ok, I might be a little let down on your choice of ONx build trucks, sorry. It's that I've have waited longtime on that j truck update. It's all good, keep up the top shelf work you do, later.
Limit straps are factory.
Take off the courtesy skirt trim below the doors, and replicate in box section as a sleeper slider.
x2 on the sleeper slider idea. Perfect idea!
That is how we do it with our rovers
That's exactly my first thought...,👍
Yes, and make it into a tank for lockers and tires.
Sliders for snow?? 😂
Bought a discovery 2 with a blown head gasket because of your first land rover series. Went from only changing spark plugs before the LR to having several thousand miles on an LS swap I did myself in the disco. I cannot tell you how excited I am to see you working on another land Rover. I just turned on notifications. So stoked!
I bought a D2 after watching his build. Mine also had a blown up rover V8 which i rebuilt. It's got lovely sound and "enough" power. A alloy LS would be lights out so good. At the time I just couldn't see me making it work, a year later now I have a welder I'm thinking I could have done it no prob lol oh well
What parts did you use to get the ls in? Wish I had bought an ACE kit before they went out of production.
If there's anything i like more than a Dirt Lifestyle build, its a Dirt Lifestyle restoration/build. I love a good before and after. I think this could give the Samaurai a run for my favorite build so far. Awesome Rover, keep it up brother!
Thank you! I'm glad you are seeing the vision that I'm seeing 😁. This project has a ton of potential!
Nah…. I’d love that sammi. You take the rover even with big balloon snow tires.
The sammi is badass. I don’t love the motor but the look and size is awesome
This wasn't even on my radar of possibilities! Although i was excited to see Dirt Reynolds for the build challenge, I'm excited to see what you'll really be able to do with it now that you have the time you need to do it right. Excited about the Rover now though!
The J10 will end up being a much better final product! I want to do a mechanical injection pump and a few other pricey upgrades that wouldn'thave been possible for this competition. November will be all hands on deck to rebuild Tacoma. Then we get back to work on the jeep truck once the taco is back on the road 😎. I can't wait.
I was not ready for this. Super happy you changed and doing this build. Cant wait to see more episodes on the build and hopefully snow wheeling in the future. 1 vote for Nate
Thank you! This is going to be a blast in the deep powder
I'm from England and land rovers are common over here which is great because I love them! cant wait for more videos.
I'm in North Carolina and I'm a die hard Land Rover lover. I wish they were as common here. All the Rovers are becoming expensive in the states.
You're a good dude Nate, love how you think deeply about projects and how you convey your ideas to your viewers.
Keep up the great work 👍
With winter coming I totally support a dedicated snow rig build. I would love to have something with giant balloon tires. Looking forward to seeing what you do on this new build!
I love the switch in direction, sure i want to see Dirt Renolds finished but seeing an old put away wet rover revived is amazing.
Always loved the series 3. Just classic Land Rover lines. They always remind me of watching Wild Kingdom as a kid when they would chase Rhino's with these things. A bit under powered but they were tanks. Looking forward to where you go with this build (after the build challenge).
Series 3?
Love seeing hunting interludes. And such a rad shift to build this Rover!
Changing gears is a bold strategy but if anyone can do it it's you Nate. I'm still voting for you everyday (that I remember). I'm excited to see this thing built.
I have always loved the badass look of arctic trucks, add that to a classic like that. You get my vote.
Glad you're back! I'm constantly checking to see if you've uploaded. Loving the content brother.
That means alot bro 👊. Thank you!
@DirtLifestyle such a sweet build. I'm stoked about the J truck not being rushed into four wheel drive. My only question is; motor plans for the SnoBro? I can't imagine keeping it completely stock due to the age and years of neglect.
As a die hard Land Rover lover, I'm totally going to enjoy this series.
It IS a clapped out one. Permission to slaughter: APPROVED!!
Love the snow monster idea
Now I can't stop imagining how cool it will be to drive this thing in the snow
Dude, me too! Snow season can't come soon enough!
We The Land Rover community and content makers are happy with this decision that Nate made. If we don’t make this American Land Rover content and build these trucks the American way who will! Great work bro!!
Congrats on your harvest, makes a man feel good to provide meat for his family.
Hate to see the p/u bumped back again, but understand the neccessity of it, and it makes it easier to take with you doing the Rover, which I think looks great!
Thank you for acknowledging your help, their contributions often go unrecognized.
Another great video, Nate, thank you for all you do to pit this stuff out for us!
Love the hunting blurb. Hunting goes way back in my family and it was/is a big part our lives
So excited for this change in direction on the OnX build! Of course I’m still looking forward to Dirt Reynolds being completed but this build will stand out in the challenge. Keep up the great work!
Rover's lookin good. Whole heartedly approve of the dedicated snow rig.
Kids are generally accepting of hunting harvests if the surrounding adults (parents) are all for it. Introduced my daughter to it very young (watching daddy take the deer's "jammies" off & observe and then help with the butchering) and she's never looked back. Good job dad.
I love the Iceland vehicles. Watch them alot.
I remember being in Fairbanks Alaska in the early 90s and going out the winter. 4 years there and I loved it.
This will be a great build and I can't wait to see it all the way through.
Dude, I am super happily shocked to see this getting out in front. As an old Jeep guy 78 j-10 golden eagle/levi. But also a LR LR3 x 2 guy I just love this! Can’t wait to see it finished!!!!
Cream colored wheels like factory would pop like crazy on this with the tires.
Last video on this I posted about putting yota axles on this so I’m amped to see this go down!
Congrats on the first deer with a bow. Nothing like feeding your family that way.
Man... watching you lay out the lasersis almost nostalgic at this point. I think last year I went back and watched the TJ videos.. feels like Dirtlifestyle lol
The stance with those 37s and those wheels is just perfect - it’s going to be incredible in the snow (looks like it just rolled out of Snowrunner, really).
Big Snowrunner energy on this build. Love it. Cannot wait to see it all done.
While sad that the j10 will not be in the build off (I can understand why), I'm excited to see this Land Rover build come together. Always impressed with your fab skills, Nate. I know you'll come through with flying colors on this late switcharoo.
Big congrats on that first archery deer Nate! Glad to see you including the family on the processing. That is awesome! Oh... And sweet new build as well.
I came here for the Land Rover content stayed because your craftmanship and story telling *chefs kiss* so good.
As a snow wheel only guy who lives in Lake Steven’s.. I love this!
Winter Romp.
If you’ve been around rovers long enough, you know that is the place you want to drive this truck.
I have watch the Artic truck channel for years .. Love Um !!
Absolutely awesome rig. And congratulations on your first Bow harvest. It's not an easy feat. Well done on teaching your kids to do it for the right reasons.
I wanna say I saw this one coming. I’m all for it dude. Crossing my fingers you’ll be ready when the time comes. Can’t wait to see it! Congrats on bringing home dinner for the family
Very surprised about the change, but I absolutely love 'Landy's' and this build is sick!! Love and can't wait for the finish!!!!!
As a Series III owner in the US, I approve. You're not going to please everybody but at the end of the day, it's your vehicle.
Congratulations on your deer. I was really looking forward to seeing Dirt Reynolds on the trails. I hope the new one works out.
Great lesson for the kids, nothing more natural than hunting and venison. I’m all in on the new build! Thanks
I have 5 weeks left, let's start another build from the scratch then 🤣 love it 👍
DUDE, you just keep on amazing me with your content. Excellent job.
I am wheeling a 65 series 2a on 40's. 3 link front and 4 link rear. Love the build
Where can I see pics of your set up??? Plus what motor tranny combo did you use?? Trying to prep for mine!!! Thx
The way you approach building makes it feel super accessible. Every time I think of selling my 85 K5 I see your stuff and think, “no I could build something cool with it”
Now I’m super stoked about both builds!
That'll look awesome. It's nice Ian and onX are letting you switch up... hopefully the other builders are cool with it. It'll be cool to see this on those snow tires you're talking about.
Gutsy yet smart move switching builds, Nate. Mocking up the stance was like a kid peeking into a Christmas gift. lol Awesome stance on the Rover, awesome build, awesome dad and the list goes on.
As long as one bolt remains of the original LR the spirit will be right there! Thanks for letting this one live the life it was yearning for!
Owned land rovers for decades and good choice for the one you got.
So happy with the landrover, can't wait to see the AT38 super versatile tire and perfect for lighter snow rigs, but the AT44 is the shit in the snow.
I've always liked those old-school Land Rovers...you just can't beat that classic body style.
i think it needs the Cummins 2.8l would be nice in that rig
Agreed! That would be a pretty sweet upgrade.
@@DirtLifestyle love the build all way liked the them
@@DirtLifestyle Merc OM605 with a mechanical pump ;)
I'm super excited to see Dirt Reynolds do some trails. These rings are awesome and unique and when Nate builds something it's always awesome. I love what he is doing with it.
Thanks man 👊
@@DirtLifestyle anytime, what you are doing is entertaining and helps people like me to get the gumption to do builds on our own. And congratulations on our deer.
Part of my childhood was helping dad process the deer. As far as the switch in vehicles, I approve of the swap.
Very inspirational channel. Land Rover will be fun to watch this winter.
The genuine reaction makes for great content! I can completely understand the need to pivot. I expected a little more reinforcement/plating of the frame, if it's so thin. Loving the build thus far. I'm glad you had this and the powers-that-be were willing to allow it.
Atleast you and Rudy can grab a spot of tea
Nate, this land Rover is SICK!!!
Like the change to the Rover build and I think it really meets the intention of the ONX Build. Build a capable, dependable rig and get out there and have fun. Really looking forward to this build.
Would like to see the front axle maybe 1.5" to 2" forward.
Will stay tuned for the J10 build.
I am so stoked for this, I think the Rover will be amazing to see for this challenge while ensuring you don't have to rush and can dedicate the time needed to finish the J Truck properly.
I love series that are like "we don't have time to finish this build, let's start a new one!"
Also. The way that is sitting is very proactive. I love the short narrow but tall chunky builds
When I saw you using a laser on a previous build I immediately ordered one on Amazon. Got one that does full 360 on all 3 axis. This has helped my layout some of the front suspension on my 71 Datsun 510. And eventually I'll get to the rear axle, and I'm sure it will help there too! Such a good tip.
I like it. Can’t wait to see how it turns out!
Love the build thats the kinda builds that interest me. And nothing better than a walk in the woods hunting even if you dont get anything its still a great way to clear your head and think about things.
I have a 1988 Land Rover 90 on 38” wheels on 15” rims look great 😂😂😂
This is awesome! Sometimes we don’t realize the best way to move forward is to just throw everything out and start over. Good move on the change in trucks. Looking forward to seeing the results!
As a huge land rover fan, I love this build. The series 3 is a great platform and I look forward to seeing what you are doing with the rest of it.
I like everything about this build.
Love it. I've been watching from the side lines, but in each video, I learned something new.
Ok, I live the way this thing is turning out. It looks like the front axle needs to move forward an inch which could make it so you dont need to cut as much. Keep up the good work!
I just picked up a ‘62 Jeep CJ5 and am so excited to get it running, but I have no formal garage, so I put up a Harbor Freight portable garage (glorified tent). Watching this video really makes me wish I had at least a slab of concrete to work on. Maybe someday…
Great build, I remember my first dear 40 some years ago, I did the same process the whole thing myself, we made the heart the night wile cutting the rest up
I will say nate you sir have one of the best collection of builds and the versatility is unmatched. Next to fab rats I may say you have the most unique one of kind build collection in the game. Excited for this build BUT more excited for dirt reynolds the jtruck is what brought me to the channel when you left bleepinjeep so I’ve been cravin the build for years
I was excited to see what the plans with the landie were and this has only made me so much more excited. Can't wait to see how it turns out!
I also can't wait to see how you finish the ute without the onyx time constraints!
I love the comment, half of 60 1/2 "Should" be 30 1/4. Beautiful ! Keep up the good fight. Can't wait to see this (finished) or at least wheelable.
I love how this channel has a build that for anyone and everyone to be honest.
Another sweet, interesting build! Congrats on your Deer!!
Should look great when you get the wheel arches cut ,can't wait, thanks for sharing, all the best to yous and your loved ones
I would absolutely love to be able to just build and build and build like you get to do everyday. Of course you’ve worked for years to be able to get to the point that you’re at. I’m not discrediting anything you’ve done to get here. But it’s so wild how you worked for weeks on the Jeep truck and then just change gears out of nowhere to start building another vehicle. So wild but also very cool.
I think this is my favorite build. The jeep truck is cool and the samurai was awesome but this is SICK!!!
I consider myself a die-hard, committed and staunchly adamant steampunk purist.
I simply LOVE the old iron, bone-stock, plain-Jane, factory original rides, but I also feel just as strongly about the low-buck, world's-first one-off that some hokey yokel glues together out of 16 dead classics that would have otherwise rotten into a certain oblivious death.
You do you, Boo.
Who cares what anyone else thinks?
This is one of my all-time favorite vehicles, and I simply cannot WAIT to see you out there somewhere, putting it through its paces and showing off your obvious talent.
Nicely done.
Fun to watch! Cool ideas out there for kicked up factory look front bumper that works with winch.
Great episode I love the build change the j10 deserves the time to really make it dialed. Congrats on the archery buck I remember the excitement when I got my first buck with a bow it was pretty special.
I'm stoked about it and yes factory limit straps...
Perfect use for this rig!
Heck yeah, Nate! This thing is going to be Sick! It already looks amazing. This rig was a great choice!
Wow Amazing! Definitely making the most of needing to pivot and more importantly recognizing the need to do so.
Love the new build, looks epic. Well done on your first archery harvest! So good for the kids to get involved.
Hey, so I found your channel years ago because of your D2 mods and my corresponding interest in Land Rovers. But then this build! Man, this thing is RAD!
100% for this! Nothing like a last minute build to make a masterpiece. I hope to see the j10 in all its glory. Ive been waiting since your first vids on b&j. But the wait will be worth it. Pumped dude
I think it’s awesome that you’re teaching your kids that food is placed on this earth for us to eat, and that we don’t have to see a middle man to get tasty food.
Looks like a special edition hot wheels car! Keep up the great work!!
I'm really looking forward to more content on this build, it's going to be rad! Congratulations on the deer! I'm so envious of your shop and being able to hunt for a deer on your property, very cool.
Can't wait to see this one out in some PNW snow!
Its rad for sure. keep the cool 3 link suspensions, throw skinny 31's on it. dual lockers and go with it. Locker stocker
All I can think of is Ace Ventura singing Chitty Chitty Bang Bang when I think of off-roading that😂
Awesome switch up Nate, the J10 build is cool and will be back in the flow of things soon enough, the Rover just a different kind of cool and will make a great snow buggy, I done my share of riding around in these and even a police armoured Land Rover over in Northern Ireland just so cool it weighed just under 5 tons, so the change up to the Snow Rover build for ONXis just more fun to watch for us viewers and can hardly wait for episode 2 next week, good to see the kids know hunting is ok , it feeds the family 👍
The Land Rover build looks really cool and a great choice for your limited build time. Thanks the great content.
i love how much freedom you have to build over the pond, back in the uk currently you can do hardly anything to them and still keep them legal for the road, my 88inch is pretty much original spec and i'm not going down the red tape rabbit hole to change anything.
