Landrover doesn't need to use this as a ad cause they have already established them self as the best offroaders of the 1990's and early 2000's we dont talk about what landrover has devolved into in the past 15 years
A real return to form...getting right into top gear territory when it was good. It's ok when they bring in a cameraman or a sponsor but for me this is the dream team. I look forward to this each week. It's filmed really well ..amazing editing (better than anything on "telly") This week's was brilliant . I watched it twice
Best car guy trio since top gear Jack: “You could just leave your wife, leave your kids, live off the land and sleep on the roof” Ethan: “things alright at home?” J: “yeah…”
Lol - I've got a Discovery 4 and have been camping with friends in Australia. I can confidently state that even at 6'2", I'm more comfortable just sleeping on a yoga mat in the back of the Disco than my friends are in their tents. Just fold all the seats flat, roll the front seats forwards and I can just about sleep full length with the back door closed. It's quiet, dry, warm, I leave the windows open with some Mosquito netting stretched across them so I get ventilation too, I have interior lighting and USB ports to charge my phone, it's great! Plus I save hours of time setting it all up and packing it all away. Plus deadly snakes and spiders can't find their way into my sleeping bag.
FWIW, the problem with sleeping in a Disco 2 is that the rear seat folds forward to create a flat floor but, in doing so, it takes up about 18" of space behind the front seats. If you plan on sleeping inside a D2, the rear seat HAS to go, which'll give you around 190cm between the rear door and the backs of the front seats or around 2m if you move the front seats all the way forward and tilt the seat-backs forward. Top-tip there; get some low-spec' manual-adjusting seats. It's much easier to move the seats manually instead of faffing around with the fancy electric seat controls. Once you've got rid of the rear seats you'll have to build some kind of platform across the rear passenger footwell but, with that done, people up to about 6'2" should be able to sleep comfortably in a D2. Personally, I built some drawers about 12" tall in the load-space of my D2 and then I bolted the 3rd-row seats (which fold flat) in place of the rear seat. With that, I can seat 4 people, fold the rear seats flat, put a platform over the top of them, sleep in the back and there's plenty of space in the drawers and rear footwells for all my camping junk.
I would love to see more of this but take the cars all across the Uk to mountain sites etc. Please don't just end this series. Show off your country and have tons of new footage!

Aww precious. I love when Brits say they are going "off-roading". The off-roading shown in this video is what I call a daily drive down the farm track to feed the cows. :D Was a fun episode fellas. The builds were pretty decent for a couple of discos.
Lift that tent and rack up and gingerly place it on Alex's disco. Oh and the fridge as well. Nicely tucked away and that older more capable disco would be my ultimate daily/ weekend ride.
Funny thing is the disco 2 still has it but you simply don't have the lever inside the car to lock it I thing they brought it only for the last model year

Little stuff that's not bad but certain dangerous things like down here in Southern Arizona we have some pretty crazy rocks trails.
