- What's happening good people, today I'll be launching a brand new series where I showcase large watches on my small six inch wrist. I'm doing this because I want to show that not all big watches are made equal and some may in fact surprise you.

Currently the channel is a member of the AliExpress and Amazon programmes. Also, I only link to products that I have hands on experience with via a review or to watches that I currently own or have owned in the past. Big Watch Small Wrist | Casio Duro Vs A Six Inch Wrist
Hey guys, hope you enjoy this new series debut talking about large watches on my slim wrist. Hope you have an awesome weekend.
With a 6,75 wrist I was hesitant about this watch for a long time. Thanks to your excellent video I bought one today and I love it. Fits great, nice weight. I got the black and blue bezel, which looks great for summer.
Awesome, glad you like your new duro and glad my video helped you out. Thanks for watching
There is a new version of Duro with 38.5mm diameter MDV-10D-1A1V but it has 50M water resistance instead of 100M
I have a 6.5inch wrist and this video is exactly what i needed to get a duro
This video was exactly what I was looking for. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching
Thanks fro your honest opinion. It made myself buy this watch with a 6inch wrist :D
Watching this as affirmation of my duro that has just arrived, thought it was too big for me who is comfortable with 38-40 mm watches, but turned out it is ok and I looove it, no regret! *pardon my english lol thanks for your video :)
Fantastic and informative video Wes, very comprehensive one of the best I’ve seen with regard to how a watch fits/wears, good job!!! I’m including the duro as a part of my 1000 subscriber giveaway, I have the black one, and while I think it’s a great watch, I just don’t wear it enough. This one looks surprisingly good on your wrist given the size of it, that strap does stick out on you though like the other Casio you did a while back.
Thank you mate, appreciate that and yeah the strap does poke out a bit but if I end up keeping it long term, I'll probably get a better silicone or maybe a nice seatbelt nato.
Just the video I needed, cheers mate
Fantastically done! I really enjoyed this and it will be very helpful for newcomers to the hobby. Also, the watch looks perfectly fine on your wrist. Nice one!
Thanks mate, glad you found it enjoyable and yeah I thought it might help some people by telling them that its more than numbers.
Great angle with a review of the case shape and case back because absolutely yes, some larger watches can look good on a smaller wrist. This Casio is a great looking watch. I have a Tuna Black Seiko arriving tomorrow and is a perfect candidate for sizing comparison.
Thanks ray and yeah I really want to get a tuna and other seikos in the series. Will have to see what the future holds. Enjoy your new watch
Great video for us slim wristed guys! Agree a lot on your points. Slab sided cases always wear bigger than what the l2l suggest
Thanks mate, case shape and profile really do help a lot.
Thank you for this Great Video!
I literally today was thinking of doing a specific set of videos where I go back to my basics and show watches on wrist rather than on the desk...
This is a great idea - cos seeing what these watches look like on a wrist is very important.
It definitely is mate as that's where it spends most of its time. You still could do something similar with the watches you have too. Thanks for watching
@@WesWatchRoom I need to learn to measure properly - I thought I had a 6.75 inch wrist - just confirmed I'm about 7.
@@Tim2pointoh that's no bad thing really
Great video and very helpful info for all those with slimmer wrists.
Thanks mate and I'm hoping it'll be a useful series in the long run.
very cool watch. Looks great on the wrist! Thanks for sharing!
Cheers mate and it does look better than I thought.
Just fits and looks great
Finally the duro video and I am surprised by my favorite another Casio is in the video :D
Thanks for watching mate and thought I'd try something a little bit different with this one.
Excellent presentation 👍 been eyeballing this duro for awhile and have thin wrists. I have used the sleeve trick on my larger watches for sometime. Works well in winter. I’m going to buy one and see how I like it, if not I’ll send it back. Cheers 🍻
Great information. I think a lot of people just see 44mm and immediately think I can’t wear it! There is more to it. The Duro is too good not to wear. It’s the best budget diver out there in my humble opinion.
Thanks mate and you're spot on, numbers are only part of a bigger picture.
@@WesWatchRoom "bigger"...pun not intended? 😅
Love my Duro, it's a daily and over 2yrs old... 7" wrist, wears smaler than you would think especially being a strap monster.
I'm very hard on watches, have NO scratches on the crystal, and it's in very good shape. The lume is not great, have no issues with the crown, and the second hand hitting the markers is hit or miss(no pun intended). It appears to get better with time, btw.
I've spent more on straps then on the watch and Love it... Spends most of its time on a StrapCode 22mm Super-J Louis JUB Watch Band Straight End, 316L Stainless Steel Solid V-Clasp Button Double Lock.
Thanks a lot for this video!
With a 6.5’ wrist, I was always hesitant to buy this beauty of a watch, but now I’m totally convinced.
Pity I have to pay it almost double because of custom fees…
All the same a great watch and a great video: accurate and informative!
Grazie!
No problems and I was really off put by the size for ages but it worked out well. Thanks for watching
@@WesWatchRoom thanks for your answer.
I’m not British, but I have an interest in accents, dialects and all that jazz.
Might I ask you where your accent is from? Midlands? Liverpool?
@@lislearnitalianwithsongs no problems and not Liverpool, but you're not with the midlands
@@WesWatchRoom intriguing. I’ll do some research and I’ll try to figure it out myself. In the meantime I’ll watch other videos of the channel!
@@lislearnitalianwithsongs appreciate that, thank you
I have 6.5 inches wrist. I watched many reviews about this watch is not for slim wrist. But Now you clear my doubt. I will must buy this budget beauty.
Happy to help
Excellent and very useful content mate. As you said pure dimension numbers sometimes don't tell the whole story. The Duro actually looked very good on your wrist. The Captain Willard is another good example of a larger watch slim wristed people can pull off without issues.
Thank you mate, have to try different things time to time and if people find value in it, then I'll make it. Plus its nice to do a video that isn't a normal review.
Duro looks pretty nice on 6 inch wrist.
Love the spec drawing! Complete with title block 😂
Agreed!
Thanks very much Brian, appreciate that.
I have the same one and a 6 inch wrist Im loving it, I really like the strap although I need some more swagger for it such as a sick bracelet and if its possible a yellow face 🟡.
(I NEVER NOTICED IT WASN'T A PERFECT CIRCLE 🙀 I like it more now lol unique)
Nice, glad you're happy with it and it surprised me at just how well it wears. A yellow dial version would be great too, I'd really get that if it was ever made.
Subscribed, i have a six inch wrist and ordered a duro kermit 🍻
I have a 6.5-inch wrist and I swapped the strap for a nato. It works well, but I still hope Casio will come up with a smaller version, say with a lug-to-lug of 45mm.
I think 40mm, with 46mm L2L and 12mm thick would be the perfect Duro.
And also, 20mm straps, sapphire, ceramic bezel insert, drilled lugs, and Signum level lume.
I’d happily pay $150 for a Duro like that. That piece of junk that Casio just came up with, the MDV-10, is selling for $90. I tried it on recently. It really feels crap. Honestly wouldn’t pay more than $30 for that.
My opinion only.
They did and everyone hates it because it's not the same Duro.
I wonder if there are women that wear this watch and would like to know what they think. I'd like to see Casio make a 40 mm version of the Duro. It should be a hit among women as well as men with thinner wrists.
I wouldn't know to be fair and I agree, a 40mm would be ideal. Thanks for watching
Yeah 40mm would be a perfect, balanced size that would suit both small and large wrists and everything in between.
Saw a guy post a review On another platform he said his 11 yo daughter loved the watch and where’s it consistently
They're coming out with a 38mm
Hahaha, Big Watch Small Wrist. Love it!
Thanks mate, appreciate that
It looks great on your wrist. The case diameter can definitely be deceiving with some watches. Thanks Wes.
Thank you mate and it actually quite surprised me. Shows that the dimensions don't always mean unwearable.
Thank you so much, man! I reeeeeally wanted one but was so afraid that it would look ridiculous on my small wrist (and the new 38 mm version is just a tremendous disappointment in my opinion). So thank you, this really reassured me and I can’t wait for mine to arrive! 🎉❤😊
what's your wrist size...bro...?
@@ranamurad4752 6.5 inches
The new smaller Duro is trash. That’s really all that can be said about it. And it’s not even the WR rating that’s the issue. The whole thing just feels wrong.
I tried one on last week. The 16mm straps felt like shoelaces. Absolutely ridiculous.
This is without doubt one of the best budget dive watches out there, probably it is the best. I don't have one as I already have so many, but if if I'm ever passing a Casio store I still might pick one up. Excellent video. I've a bigger wrist at 8" so my complaint is that some watches I like can be too small!
Thanks Brian and yeah you won't have a problem with this one at all. I'd say if you ever have the opportunity, grab one such a great value watch.
Try Invicta!
@@davidcrandall4958 They've a couple of good divers with Seiko movements I know, but never tried one. Will definitely check out the range. 👍
I would argue the Vostok Amphibia is also great value, finishing wise the Duro is probably above but the Vostok is an automatic
I wear this and another 44mm Invicta regularly. Only took a few people complimenting my timepiece to get me over the sizes. Lol.
That's it, all you need is to be confident to wear it and if you enjoy it, doesn't matter if its too big or too small.
It actually fits your wrist quite well.
I didnt see any lug overhang.
Imo....it looks like a diver should look.
6” wrist here too! Yeah I prefer under 12mm thickness, 47lug to lug and 36-40
That's about my ideal watch size too. But some bigger ones do fit quite well too.
@@WesWatchRoom Yeah I have my Orient Ray 2 and my Seiko land tortoise which are 41-42, but that short lug to lug makes them wear perfect.
@@shinraorg 6” wrist me too. Orient Kamasu wears perfect for me as well. I’m pretty sure its dimensions are similar if not identical to the ray 2.
Love your accent ❤
Thanks
nice. on wrist does it look smaller or bigger than ny0040? thanks
Awesome series mate to bad the end links I got from Marc didn't fit it unless you made the 🕳 a little bit bigger
Thanks mate and that would have been awesome if it fit. Definitely would have improved up the wearability on the bracelet
@@WesWatchRoom yes it would have I was happy to try it but failed 😆
@@watchsixto can't win em all.
I have a 9 inch wrist and these look good on me
Wow. I had a Casio Duro and it seemed a little small on my wrist.
Will a 6 inch wrist look good on a day date 40mm candisen homage?
I find as I get older, I do appreciate a nice big watch on my wrist. If possible, I'd wear a wall clock on my wrist- that way I don't have to put my glasses on to tell time...and make the young gals laugh at me. I like the Duro because it is nice and big- and I go for any wrist watch that is 40mm or bigger.... bigger is better when your eyes get old.
I understand where you are coming from, my eyesight isn't getting any better and I see your point. Thanks for watching
My new Duro is going to arrive tomorrow (the gold one) My wrist is 7-1/2", so I won't have any problems.......I noticed that because of your 6" wrist, your watch band is sticking out. With a rubber band, you should be able to trim some of it off. You could have problems if you wanted a Nylon or leather band.
That's great news and it does, I have a replacement for it now and it fits way better. Have a good one
what's the brown watch case at 2:15?
If it works on a 6” it should work on my 7.5”.
I wouldn’t be surprised if this got a TON of views. We’re all thinking it, you’re saying it. In fact this whole small/big series is likely to draw a lot of traffic. This is why the turtle works so well, since the diameter is almost the same as the lug2lug.
Whether it does or doesn't, I'll keep making them as I enjoyed doing something a little different to a normal review.
Why I subscribed your channel? Coz of your wrist size Bro.....🙂
Appreciate you supporting the channel 👊
My wrist is little smaller than yours so can i 😮 buy this watch
people having small wrists should stop thinking of size of dive watches . its big for your sight thats good on beach . wear and enjoy it because no one has a chance to see while you diving
That's a good point, but I'd rather have a watch that is comfortable than easy to read. But that's just me
Is there other smaller options similar to this model?
Yes, there is a smaller one that is similar, the model number is MTD-1053D-1AVES. It's a 42mm, so still on the larger side.
@@WesWatchRoom Im looking for something 40mm or leas because I have skinny wrist :/
@@AleCardenasRealtor unfortunately I don't know of anything else Casio make that's sub 40mm.
What?
How can a 44mm watch looks this good on a 6" wrist? Very surprising
Isn't your wrist more like 7"?
I know, I was very surprised by this as well. And yes my wrist really is six inches.
@@WesWatchRoom I also have a 6" wrist and I was thinking about the Edifice Casio EFV-130D-2AVUEF but idk. Maybe I'll just buy an Orient 39mm
Having a skinny wrist sucks
@@Pawcio2115 it definitely does at times, but then again smaller watches suit us better, so swings and roundabouts really.
@@WesWatchRoom hey, just a question. Is your wrist exactly 6” and nothing more? Mine is 6” and I’m not sure if it’ll wear fine or not. Your wrist isn’t like 6 and a quarter or 6 and a half right? Just 6?
What’s the strap called that u showed taper one??
should be linked in the description - i think
@@WesWatchRoom no there’s no link of strap
You need an Aragon... 😂
That sounds like a challenge 🤣
@@WesWatchRoom I'd send you one but international shipping might be a little much... These things are tres heavy.
@@watchuwatching1286 I bet it would cost a fortune. Appreciate that though.
Mate where are you from? I don't think I've quite heard your kind of accent before
It's a weird blend of northern.
@@WesWatchRoom see I'm mexican, from right at the border with California, so I'm very used to "that" English lol but I also consume a lot of media from the UK and Australia, still I couldn't pinpoint your accent 😜
Greetings from the other side of the world
@@TheDonCucaracho that's awesome. Thanks for watching all the way from Mexico. Yeah my accent isn't that common on traditional media so it's no wonder why you couldn't pinpoint it. Have a great rest of your weekend.
@@WesWatchRoom
Nucassel, shuwrlee? The best English English accent.
This watch is not big; it’s medium size IMO. The sweet spot is 40mm to 45mm; anything smaller looks like a child’s timepiece & larger than 48mm tends to be clownish (like stuff from Invicta).
Depends on who wears the watch. It’s not universal
In truth that watch looks way to big for your wrist .
I want to get jacked so i can wear it haha
cant make wrists bigger unless you just get fat theres no muscle tissue there
@@rishabhshukla2789 i got surgery so i can wear it
Try it on a silver black nato mate, the original strap doesn't help anyone.....
Might up doing that down the road, thanks for the tip
looked like a crushed cat with one of its eye popped out
Depok, Indonesia?
@@gooby8953why
Still looks too big
Lug to lug is just too big for smaller wrist.
It is but it still wears pretty well imo
Don’t buy this watch this is just not a big size watch it is a heavy watch and your wrist will hurt you will feel the heft if the watch. I have this and I try to wear it but after just a few minutes it stays feeling heavy and my wrist hurt. I have a medium size wrist. Don’t trust these you tube videos. They are just not honest. If you don’t believe me buy it and you will see what I am saying is true.
