Casio would make a bazillion dollars if they would just release the duro in a 38-40mm size while keeping the 200m water resist. I just sold my 44mm euro yesterday because it's too big for me.
I think that s why a lot of people are buying brands like San Martin. Priced right with high end features and most are around 40mm.

42mm would have been awesome, even down to 40mm. I still love my 44mm Duro, works very well on my 6 3/4 in wrist. Yes, even for me 44mm is abit big but the lug 2 lug is what matters. As long as the lugs are well within the width of your wrist, wear any larger size watch that makes you happy.
Don't let anyone downplay your personal tastes.

I love the simplicity of the 44mm Duro, it’s just too damn big, and I have big wrist. Casio needs to release a true 40mm version with 20mm lug width and keep the 200m WR and screw crown. Also upgrade the lume and we have the best Quartz watch at $60.

I read the title and I was like "YES THIS IS IT!" then we go to the video and -oh my- was I disappointed! they totally messed it up...was it hard to make a Duro in 38-40mm (for real!) with 20mm lug width and 200m WR?! what's this?!?
This is ridiculous ,that's what it is.
Finally a Duro that can fit my tiny wrist 😂. That 15.5 bracelet is tricky to swap though…

It’s a Casio so add 50m WR. Not bad for showering, swimming, snorkeling, ect.
It's probably more waterproof than a Pagani with 200M on the dial.

@@manuelpiston you do realize that even 50 m water resistance isn’t even suitable for an hour in a swimming pool right? It’s not about going down to the advertise depth, it’s about how water resistant the case stays after being submerged for an allotted amount of time.

Seems perfect for people with a smaller wrist. I think it will fit perfectly on my 7inch wrist!
Late but eh, my 40mm Invicta Pro Diver is pretty much spot on my 7 inch wrist so this would likely look too small even for us.
Oh I forgot Casio includes the crown or crown guards in its measurements. Thanks for taking the hit for the rest of us but honestly, it doesn't look too bad on you. But as for a cheap beater diver, I managed to find a real unicorn: a 36.5mm Invicta Yachtmaster homage that actually has more WR than the real thing!

44mm is my ideal size - I have many watches this size and some even bigger. This tiny watch, however, is a real looker, and needs some consideration.

the size is proportionate to your wrist and doesnt look awkward. Yes the lug width should have been atleast 18mm. Who makes all these decisions Or they just dont care what they are throwing in the market . So many people on the comments are talking about the 38-40mm size with 200mtrs. From where does the casio product team get the pulse of the market ? 5 people sitting a board room and deciding amongst themselves . Pretty crazy.
Oh that's so stupid. We've been wanting for a smaller "duro" for ages now. a 40mm, 38mm even.
Instead we get a 35mm watch, with 16m lug width and only 50m water resistant. Thanks for nothing 😢

It' s a fine size. With the right size, bigger watches 3:00 than that are just for rappers, flanboyant and suburbam people. People with class does not use the kitchen's wall watch.
If it had even 100m it would be okay. But I refuse do to 50m out of respect for the original

Can't say I've ever seen 15.5mm lugs before myself, I'll double check before the review though to make sure!

Interesting watch I know a lot of people have wanted a smaller Duro but I can't help but wonder if they went too small with this one.
Casio doesn't specify case diameter, rather they measure right across the whole watch and the crown like you did. So the actual diameter will be 2 to 3 mm smaller than the specified case width. Same with my Casios. What's your wrist size anyway?
I know for a fact that the solar watch is the size and depth rating you have there with a thinner strap as well and no fishy on watch as well.
The size is ok. Perfect for my wrist.
Sad to see it doesnt have the build quality of the original. My brother still wears his daily!

The 40mm 1010 was the best. I can't understand why they discontinued it, and keep wondering if/when they'll reissue it. Soon I hope.
I remember not buying it because the case is not stainless steel - copper if I am correct.
Yes! That model is better looking than the duro and a reasonable size.....but a huge drawback of that 1010 is the case not being stainless steel.

They now need a “Goldilocks” Duro with a 40mm diameter. Preferably with the Marlin on the face again.
If you dont know 38mm divers are everywhere. Its the new fab, the return to the 1950s diver size.

I only had two thoughts: 1. This is 100% Ben, and 2. The bracelet size and water resistance are disappointing.
Nevertheless, maybe there’s hope for a reissue of the original Marline, down the line.

There's also another variant of the same Duro, MDV-107D-1A1V. Its bigger than this and full metal version the original Duro

With these casio watches they tend to include crown to the case diameter. I bough watches advertised respectively as 40mm and 38mm. Turnd out they wear 38 and 36mm.
My MDV 107D is 44mm, 200m WR and has a different bracelet. That tells me the watch in this video is either a female version, which iv never heard of, or it’s a fake…
There’s a lot of cons instead of pros. That is 50meter and a sad lug width

I could stand the teeny-ness with a bigger lug width, 18mm would gave done, but this will need to be cheap, cheaper than the £99 UKP plus postage on the Bay. Nowhere else has them in the UK though, so some scalping going on while they still hard to get. Not as bad as a Tiffany brass-watch mind.

What the hell is even this? Casio slipped severely in this one i think. It's like a toy version of the Duro. I have a bias for small watches and all, but this is a no-go.

I have always wanted a Duro. But not a 44mm or whatever it is. I dont want a 35/36mm either. Casio please do one in 40/41mm.

Magnificent! I have long been looking for a good-looking quartz beater. This will hit the spot once it drops in price.
I'm a fan of 32-34mm dress watches and 36-38mm chronos and am fed up with the being few viable options for good-looking beater watches in appropriate sizes.
Buy a Rotary Henley GMT. A buy larger at 40mm, but is so much better than that.

@@ktakahara9145 In terms of mechanical chronos, vintage is the way to go for smaller sizes. You can pick up "neo-vintage" chronos from the 80s and 90s based on the ETA 7750 series. Sized at 37-38mm. I have a gold Eterna and steel Wyler Vetta. I reckon they're pretty good value - £300 for the steel one, £1800 for the gold one (melt value of the gold £1300).
There also plenty of new Chinese chronos based on the Seagull "1963" movement in 38mm.
Other options are things like the 38mm 70s Accurist Schockmaster chronograph which uses the Landeron 248 mechanical movement for around £200. That movement was also used in the "Chronographe Suisse" line of watches which are inexpensive and were often marketed under different names.

Oh! I thought the counter seconds was a chapter ring but I see none in this watch? Just part of the dial as opposed to only on chapter ring as promoted in the original design. That is something I liked about, because to me it completes the watch as it fills the metal circle around, what to me feels left and incomplete when non chapter ring is used. Do you know if there is the possibility of adding one? Also I pretend to put a domed glass on it so the face gets more bumpy and I am considering the day window amplifier as well... What do you think?
So, what is the official lug width? I am thinking about buying it, but a lug width of less than 18mm seems complicated for strap customization...

Why is the lug width 15.5mm? I’d hold off on buying. This release will be very disappointing to say the least.
Casio did dirty this time....50m instead of 100m, bracelet looks too thin for a men's wrist, wobbly bezel. Also, In India, it is priced more than the original 44mm. I had high hopes but it's total waste of money on this one.
