Casio Edifice was my first watch ever.. I wore it(almost daily) for 19 years.. 19 years it lasted... Got it as a Christmas gift, never wanted or wore a watch before.. But I got it, so started using it, I was 19 years old at the time. I'm 39 now, it finally gave out last year, when the screws finally stripped themselves and the back plate wouldn't stay on. Only swapped the battery maybe 2 or 3 times in 19 years. It was simple, elegant and a god damn tank. Surprisingly quality watch. Wouldn't hesitate in the slightest to pick up another.

My Edifice is also on a similar path. I've had it for almost 8 years now, and only had to change the battery once. It's on the heavier side, and I use a watch as a utilitarian tool, but it's managed to hold up quite well. The bracelet has gotten quite dinged now, but the watch itself is still spotless, save for one tiny scratch on the glass, which isn't even noticable.

I am an enthusiast for vintage japanese watches. I bought an Casio CFX-200 Calculator watch. It is 40 years of age and still working perfectly. Love this brand. Vintage Seiko is the only one that comes close. Sadly newer models both from Seiko and Casio don't live up to their standars but both are still incredible brands. Especially when it comes to their "main-models" because the finishing on them is usually superb

I have to say, however, the watches DO speak for themselves. I am sure that the bean-counters at Casio are relying on the FREE advertising: "word-of-mouth". I'd bet the bottom line is not affected, though watches going out of production is a real drag to watch fans.

Nonsense, 38mm is not a 'women's watch' (nothing wrong with those either btw). Men's watches used to be even 34mm in diameter. I have the blue dial version and the sunburst is excellent. It is absolutely legible - a half second glance is all you need. In my humble opinion your review is exactly on the money. I concur that it is exceptionally comfortable - though I have chucked on a $20 leather strap. My 'complaints': A frame round the date would be nice. Sapphire with AR coating would be worth paying a bit extra for.

I bought the bigger model and it is fantastic. I love how versatile it is, not overly sporty but not overly dressy, and the bigger model is a perfect fit. I was tempted by the blue dial one but the black one is more universal. I have more expensive watches than these but none of them is as universal as this one. You really can dress them up or down really well, I went with light brown, perforated leather strap and man, they look fantastic.

This is a great looking watch for the price. The Edifice range of watches are very good and I have my eyes on one at my local Casio dealer which at present is just over £90 in a sale they are having. I purchased an Edifice watch last year from the same dealer which is solar powered and has sapphire crystal which I managed to buy for less than £70. The reason it was in the sale was because it was the last one in stock at the time so just had to get it at such a bargain price. I purchased a Casio analogue watch a couple of months ago with roman numerals for only £29.99 at Argos and it is also available on Amazon at the same price. It's a really great classic watch and I wear it often. Thanks Ben for showing this watch. I unfortunately won't be getting this one though as I purchased a Pulsar Solar watch only yesterday at £49.99 so my misses wouldn't like me getting another just yet. The watch is similar in design to the one you have just shown except mine has gold plate in the bracelet.
