The combat with humans is giving me some Dark Messiah of Might and Magic vibes, which bodes well. Graphics look pretty good for a VR game that's also releasing on Quest 2. And the footage of the Behemoth fight that was omitted from this video has me excited about fighting them. Basically checked all of my boxes except "open world," so I'm pretty excited.
@@Ezdine_G8261 That's true, but there's a significant lack of open world games that were built for VR. I understand why that's the case (complexity, time, budget), but I'd love to see some new ones. Still looking forward to Behemoth.
@@GreyMatterShades performance is a super big issue with VR open worlds, a lot of people don't realize vr games are quite a bit weightier than basic flatscreen games.
Huh, oddly enough it gave me the exact same Dark Messiah vibes. I think it's the minions; they feel a lot like the Black Guards to me in their identicality and the fact that they're made out of plasticine and exist only to let you torment them with the game mechanics. I'm actually a little disappointed. When I first saw the original teaser trailer, I was hoping for a VR Shadow of the Colossus. This is... something different.
@@SerialSnowmanKiller There are still going to be battles with giant creatures, similar to Shadow of the Colossus (though clearly not exactly the same). @@moncimoovsame with synapse. Bloody incredible fun. Absolutely love that game and it’s type of game you can always go. Back to months/years later and have a blast. In the story you are cursed giving you a special ability that makes you stronger for some time you can see the curse on the part of the arm that looks burnt
I really hope these melee combat games can be hard enough to be actually enjoyable. Blade and sorcery is one good example, everything with 1.0 was amazing but the AI is truely a huge drawback.
I’m trying to figure out if the AI is program to have only one enemy fight at a time when it comes to human enemies. If it’s anticipated to be a 1V1 there needs to be some reasoning on why you wouldn’t get jumped on a 3V1 situation.
I just hope the enemies don't just wait their turn, like in the video. Very unrealistic, and not how any other modern non-VR game would treat the enemies. I'd prefer they swarm all at the same time, and from different sides, attacking your openings. This would make for a far more engaging fighting experience. I find the one-at-a-time approach always bores me after a while, and too many VR games take that approach.
I’ve been quite excited for this game but something tells me I’m going to be disappointed. I hope I’m wrong. Still trying to decide if I should pre order. Are the pre order bonus worth it? Sword, axe grappling hook? Is it just a prettier version of what you’d normally start with? Or do you simply gets weapons early or something?
dumb bots, fps drops, quality gore and fun gameplay - yes, thats Skydance's game. Only tons of bugs is missing, but i think they just didn`t show it in this video))
For me what makes a good game is closeness of realism to real life. The physics in this looks great so far, and if when you hit them with your sword it behaved just like when you hit a real piece of meat and bone in real life......that would be far more narrative
Yeah, that's definitely not gonna change. You can even tell the budget's been spent on the animations, the physics and the spectacle, really. But the voice acting and stuff looks pretty bad. But at the same point it seems the same level of maybe a step up from the Saints and Sinners games. But I doubt it will look any better than the Saints and Sinners games on the Quest 3, especially the quest 2.. I feel a game of this size and scope should just straight up avoid the quest two and push the quest 3. But who am I? But I'm measly consumer.
The AI also is a huge, huge investment for these devs and seeing what the AI was like in Saints and Sinners, it's not going to be any better. The ragdoll effects and the animations and stuff do look pretty cool. I have to say. It would be fun as hell either way.
