Having done my first completion of Crystal Hunt, I can indeed say that Hector is a worthy boss fight. Makes you be aware of your environment, makes you need to think quick about how to get to those weakpoint-protecting glowstones, recognize what weapons would be suitable for dealing with his weakpoints, and of course the (personally disorienting and nausea-inducing) flailing about during the colossus climb in order to reach the upper points.
