Having done my first completion of Crystal Hunt, I can indeed say that Hector is a worthy boss fight. Makes you be aware of your environment, makes you need to think quick about how to get to those weakpoint-protecting glowstones, recognize what weapons would be suitable for dealing with his weakpoints, and of course the (personally disorienting and nausea-inducing) flailing about during the colossus climb in order to reach the upper points. And of course the experimentation, I wasn't even aware you could stun him with the shield throw and interrupt that charging beam.
So, we've seen a skilled warrior tackle a fully powered golem, but now I wonder how a full-mage would fare, or perhaps other thematic combatants when mods get updated. Jedi/Sith would be neat, as would a Mandelorean. A Hunter from Bloodborne would also be fun, or someone from Final Fantasy, or Assassin's Creed, hell we could see what a ninja from the Narutoverse could do. This update's pretty good in Vanilla, can only get even better when those mods get updated and online for more thematic dungeon runs~

how to beat golem without bows or magic tips:
    1. use one handed blunt weapon, if you have the dash ability when swinging a weapon or fist you can dodge attacks easier
    2. scout the area before reaching the golem, there will be a few of the blue crystals and you will need to locate and use them to disarm protected pink crystals.
3 use your hand that doesn’t have a weapon to grab on the golem and attack any crystals.

NOW I find out that you can actually just run between his legs to avoid his smashes and flailing attacks? AND that knowledge is delivered to me in probably the single most badass piece of VR media I've ever seen? Bro, I'm gonna spend the rest of my life trying to recreate this for myself in my own game, just so I can experience it personally, in the moment. That will be my life's greatest accomplishment.
