I purchased this camera however I found your review lacking clarity and transparency. The fact that you are receiving monetary reimbursement might be why the review and suggestions were slightly skewed.

I have no issues with it and use it all the time. I posted video from the different mounting positions so you can see the good and the bad. I do not get paid and would never post anything I don’t use myself. You can’t imagine the amount of crap that gets presented to me daily and I reject 95% of it. To say I post anything for money is plain wrong. My reputation is more important than that but I’m sorry it didn’t work out for you.

Great review! Would be great if it had a forward and rear facing camera to capture both angles

As I watch review videos, questions always pop-up in my mind. You always seem to answer the “Does it do xxxx”/“wonder if it can”/“How would I” questions as I watch. FIFO was the biggest one I had and boom!, not only was it answered, it was explained :::golf clap::: I’ve been wanting run a dash cam style camera since I started riding… this looks like the one. Great review Brian. Looks like a truly legit product.

As soon as you insert the unit it starts recording. Speaking of forensic crash data I'm glad it's water proof.
As far as shakey video goes, I know my editing software has stabilization options that can clean that up some.
As far as file management yeah I move everything to an external drive and reformat each SD card after every ride.
WOW that's a big lense on your Sony.. I mean it's huge.. I don't know where you PUT all that to hide it during rides.
I'm thinking I want one of those for my truck as well.

A good and honest review Brian. I'm going to have a look around the UK Amazon site to see if it's there. I've tried different cameras on my Panny, and they've just not ticked the boxes I need ticking. 👍🎬📽

Looks like a winner to me, Right? Does it automaticly go off when no movement is detected?

    • @TwoIndians

The camera will continue to operate as long as it’s in the mount. Removing it turns it off. Kinda cool when you think about it because because you could leave it running to catch video near the bike

Nice review Brian! My bike doesn't have mirror stems. Do you have a non Amazon link for those stick on mounts and the camera. Sorry don't want to feed the Amazon monopoly.

Those mounts are standard GoPro helmet or stick on mounts, you can get these anywhere GoPro’s are sold.

Yes, but you can just pull it out and toss it in your saddlebag or pocket even.

Great review, but that just doesn't look like anything I would want to buy. The image quality, and stability, is so terrible, you can't even make out the ethnicity or gender of another driver let alone provide any meaningful detail to forensic evidence other than "uhh.... red truck...... I think it's a Dodge?". "What did the driver look like?" "Well..... It had a head...¯\_(ツ)_/¯". It would do ok for proving innocence, but that's about it. It wouldn't do anything for catching a driver fleeing a scene or erratic behavior.
Things I want in a dash cam:
    - Good enough image quality to read license plates at regular following distance day and night (this one does not in daylight even at a stop sign). Usually this simply requires sensor size and the sensor in this camera (Sony IMX307) has a sensor size of 1/2.8", which is about as tiny as they come. It's actually SMALLER than a lot of phone sensors (usually 1/2.3 - 1/1.3 on the high end), so why they're sticking to such a teenie-weenie sensor is beyond me. Probably a cost thing.
    - Ability to mount in on the bike and have it turn on/off with the ignition so I don't have to mess with it every single ride (this one does not).
    - Good stabilization (this one does not).
    - Single processing unit with a front facing and reverse facing camera.
    - Loop recording for at least 24 hours of ride time.
    - Record brief events based on accelerometer inputs even if the bike if off.
Sooo.... basically just a gopro with some software tweaks that ties into the bike's electrical system for power should do it. I haven't seen a single dash cam that doesn't have terrible image quality and most phones these days have better image quality than most current dash cams for some weird reason. Again, awesome review, but I'm just super disappointed in the dash cam tech industry.

I think your list is a bit unreasonable TBH. Why would you need 24 hours of recording? If there’s an incident you immediately back up the video to your phone. You’re not using this unless someone hits you or V/v so IMHO you really only need an hour of video in FIFO. As far as resolution goes you’re dreaming if you thinking a GoPro is going to grab a usable license plate capture at more than 25 feet and that’s IF the car lines up perfectly. These cameras are for the case where both parties stop to exchange info but it comes down finger pointing- they say you rammed into them, swerved into their lane etc. not capturing a hit and run. Would it be nice? Sure. But it’s not realistic. If someone hits you your bike is going down in all different directions and if you think some permanently mounted camera facing forward or back is going to catch that CSI image that’s not happening As someone that has probably seen 2000 hours of GoPro footage AND works in the commercial surveillance industry I can tell you your criteria for a usable dash cam is in unicorn territory. Stability-wise yes it’s nowhere near a GoPro but then again it’s a third of the price, super convenient and for me it’s does the job just fine. As far as usability goes I like the way it comes on and off the bike. Maybe there is better out there 🤷🏻‍♂️ but at what cost?

@@TwoIndians ...and that's why I haven't bought one yet. :) I probably should just because there is definitely value in proving fault (or at least innocence), but I would totally require something that turns on and records automatically based on the bike's ignition position rather than having yet another thing for me to faff about with before setting off. A larger sensor would indeed go an awfully long way. They're doing a crap ton of processing to make it 'less bad', but you're absolutely right. It's simply not realistic to expect to read a license plate with a tiny little 2MP 1/2.8" sensor. That's why I don't buy them. :) I'd happily pay a little extra for a larger sensor that could handle details better. The technology has totally been available to do so for many years. I just don't understand why nobody has done it yet. My expectations are indeed unrealistic for what's currently on the market, but they're not unrealistic for the technology that's currently available. It's easy to prove. Just take a recent iPhone or Samsung Galaxy phone, stick it on your dash next to most any dash cam, and compare the recordings.

Noooo non mi piace questo Mufu, non ha un buon stabilizzatore, le immagini vibrano troppo, meglio la Goprò o una Insta 360 one R
