    A band that’s been on my radar for years but I haven’t gotten around to hearing a single album yet! I’m going to start listening to them today. Thanks for the great video as always, informative and entertaining whether you know the band or not.

      No problem! Glad you enjoyed it. You are definitely in for a wild ride exploring their discography for the first time. So many different directions it will take you! Cheers man!

    Blut Aus Nord is easily one of my all time favorite bands. They have such a large and diverse body of work, and I honestly don't think there's a bad album in there, as even their lesser albums (like deus salutis meæ) have brilliant moments sprinkled throughout.
    I love their industrial and melodic albums pretty much equally, but if I had to choose the best of both worlds, I'd go with The Work Which Transforms God and Memoria Vetusta II as my favorite manifestations of those styles.
    About Odinist, I think the problem is that the first half is absolutely amazing (the title track in particular is godly), whereas the second half is merely "good". For me, this is why the album as a whole is rather unsatisfying, but I find myself going back to the first half often.
    Excellent video btw!

      Thanks! And really great comments. Such a unique band, its not often that a band can have albums that sound so different yet still be so uniquely their own sound. Cheers!

    Good video and ranking! New album is absolutely insane, listened to it as I was going to sleep earlier in the week and that was a trip to say the least.
    Great band, I would say MV II is my favorite as of today but that new album is close. But they have a lot of amazing albums

    I've heard little bits of the industrial/ambient stuff and it wasn't really for me but I listened to the first Memoria Vetusta album recently and thought it was fantastic! So I'll definitely be checking out the rest of the stuff in that vein at least.

    • @HammerheartMetalReviews

      I totally get that, I lean way more towards the albums like the Memoria Vetusta trilogy as opposed to the industrial stuff also. Such a unique band to have albums so different from one another, but ya there are definitely some gems in there

    I would describe their industrial albums (The Work Which Transforms God, MoRT, and Odinist), are like being in a rusted metal box filled with chains hanging from the ceiling, and some greater being is on the outside twisting it. And I know that "The Mystical Beast of Rebellion" is probably the least favorite album for many, but that album really scratches the itch i have for Velvet Cacoon's "Genevieve" and "Northsuite" albums, so i have a soft spot for it. As for "Disharmonium", i thought the album was weak, none of it was memorable, just every song being more creepy sounds, just felt like a huge step down from "Hallucinogen"

    • @HammerheartMetalReviews
      @HammerheartMetalReviews  2 роки тому

      Their industrial albums are definitely a haunting experience, great comments! I also liked Hallucinogen much more than Disharmonium, although I still enjoyed the new one.

    Recently hopped into their discography and have been listening to their albums at random. Rather than in the proper order. But so far I've been loving Memoria 1 and Hallucinogen. Disharmonium is pretty cool but I feel like a lot of the songs are repetitive in their atmosphere to the point were I feel like I'm listening to the same song continuously, idk if that makes any sense lol.

    • @HammerheartMetalReviews
      @HammerheartMetalReviews  2 роки тому +1

      Definitely makes sense! While I do really enjoy the newest one, I completely see what you mean, and I dont feel that it stacks up with their best for sure.

    I got into this band pretty recently and I just have listened to two of their albums the 2019 one which I really liked but I thought it was a little bit too repetitive maybe I should give it more listens. Also the 1996 album and I definitely agree with you an absolute masterpiece. Thanks for the ranking.

    • @HammerheartMetalReviews

      No problem! Definitely a band worth exploring, lots of really solid albums, very interesting from album to album for sure. A few albums don't match the quality of the others, but a lot of gems in there too.

    This is a band of always having a relationship with., I didn’t even know they put out a new record. I’m gonna have to scope that out I know that I like a couple of their albums, Especially the more atmospheric style ones, but the industrial has always scared me away.

    • @HammerheartMetalReviews
      @HammerheartMetalReviews  2 роки тому

      Totally agree...they definitely have a few albums that I can't get into at all. I am not a big industrial guy, but a few of those albums are still pretty interesting when mixing it with black metal. I am way more into the atmospheric melodic black metal albums they do too, thats just more in the vein of what I like

    Preferring BaN's standard atmoblack over their avantgarde/ industrial works in like going on a trip to Italy and having hotdog as your favorite food there.

    • @HammerheartMetalReviews
      @HammerheartMetalReviews  2 роки тому

      haha, that made me laugh, nice comment. I guess I am the type of guy that likes hotdogs in italy then. Totally just my preference, I would much rather listen to their atmoblack than their industrial stuff. I wouldnt call their atmo black standard by any means though. Even with different opinions you still made me laugh with that comment, that was great

    Listen to them all on ten grams of mushrooms and see if the order of your list stays the same. I'd say it's between The Work Which Transforms God, and the whole 777 trilogy at #1 for me, but really it's all about what mood I'm in for Blut. Do you want raw atmospheric black metal, swirling dissonant chaos, mechanical industrial groove, or a little of all and something inbetween? Vindsval is the black metal chameleon.
