I remember putting an air filter like that on the carburettor of the crossflow engine of my cortina mk2 in about 1970. It made a fantasticly loud continuous sucking noise when it ran. I thought it looked really cool (or was it groovy) and in-keeping with the cheap plasy switch lengtheners I bought for the dashboard. No expense spared. So I reckon that cheap chrome thing carbon dates the engine to the 70's.
I bought it from Ed Light's car factor shop in East Ham where I got my AF ring/open spanner set. Also my carb tuning kit that by looking through the sparkplug would show you the colour of the piston explosion. He sold all sorts, novelty gear stick knobs (some literally), fluffy wheel covers, foot pumps, windscreen sun shields with Steve and Sharon letters, joss stick smelling air fresheners, wheel hub covers that extended to the rims, Electric self extending radio antenna, alcoholic breath nullifiers, Stick-on rear window heaters, Fluffy dice, Stick on ceiling footprints for the roof over the back seat. And of course two part fillers, wet'n dry and lead primer paint. Suspension lowering kits, giga amps, woofers and speakers that filled the boot.... All the stuff anyone could need.
@@spinaway No Jimmy, any human that races jet boats such as myself for 20 years can tell you it is a jet DRIVE. Not a jet engine. Jet DRIVE...verses inboad.(which includes V-drive)...inboard/outboard (called I/O) and then air drive(airboats using a aircraft pusher propeller) A jet ENGINE is what you find attached on an aircraft, some silly promotional dragsters, and a version correctly called turbine power, which is a jet engine mated to a propeller drive. This? Is a Jet Boat utilizing a jet drive unit (this one using a Hamilton two stage jet pump) using an automotive engine, NOT a jet emgine. You....have now been schooled.
What a great can do attitude !
Tom the Spin Doctor.
I love the positive perspective you put on things Tom.
Cheers Gray Australia
Neighbours of Denis..... I feel your pain.
My Dad is like this dude but on meth and with a bigger budget to buy more random crappy shit.
I have come about the boat! What could be more obvious when Tom Cunliffe enters!
This guy is a classic.

You don't want to get that in the wrong place. Hahahahah!
Tom Cunliffe series. Quite a good series.
Where's the sail? 🤔
Looks more like an episode from "Scrapheap Challenge"
Pretty misleading title, this is a jet boat, not a boat with a jet engine,
Not at all, The term for a water jet duh.
It does NOT have a jet engine
It's the terminology for a water jet, anyone with any Knowledge of boats would Know this.

Its not a jet engine its a car engine hooked up to a jet pump
JET DRIVE NOT JET ENGINE!!!! JET ENGINES ARE TURBINES AND DON'T HAVE PISTONS AND CYLINDER HEADS.....
